Pit slowly opened his eyes in a familiar room. He tried to get up but got a headache when he sat up, so he rested his back on the wall behind his bed.
"... Onee... chan...?" he looked to his arms. Both were heavily covered by bandages, as though the person who helped him used entire rolls per arm, but blood stains still seeped through the bandages. His head, and chest seemed to be in the same conditions as his arms.
He suddenly heard glass shatter at the door.
Samus was there and seemed to have dropped a glass of water, probably for him.
"Pit...!" Samus ran over to his bed and hugged him. "I'm so glad...!" she stifled a sob.
"Onee-chan...?" Pit asked while Samus lets go.
"Are you okay? How are you feeling?" Samus asked.
"... I'm fine... just thirsty..." Pit said.
"Got it! Don't get out of bed!" Samus jumped over the shattered glass and ran through the hall to get water.
"..." Pit stared at the bandages on his arms. What happened?
He suddenly remembered.
The voices.
The blood.
The tears.
The pain.
"S-Stop it!" Pit shut his eyes and gripped his hair.
"STOP IT!" he felt tears soak through his clothes.
"Pit! PIT!"
He opened his eyes to see Samus looking worriedly while holding a glass of water.
"E-Eh?" Pit slowly let his arms fall to his lap.
Samus sets the glass of water on the desk by the table and hugs him tightly again.
"Let it out," she said.
Pit looks surprised first but soon broke into tears and holding tightly onto the back of her shirt.
"Don't worry. I'll protect you," she murmurs.
He stops crying soon.
"Onee-chan..." he murmurs.
...
...
...
"Would the world be better off if I just die?"
Weeks pasts and they weren't as smooth as they used to.
Over and over, again and again, Pit was tormented, even if Samus was just a few feet away from him.
Always ending up in such a bad state once Samus came and beated them before Chozo dragged the children off back to their guardians
Samus couldn't take it anymore and stayed by Pit's side no matter what whenever they went outside and when that happened none came.
They were outside one day, Samus training in her power suit while Pit watched.
He sat there silently while Samus practiced aiming at rocks with her hand cannon.
They suddenly heard a screech.
"What was that?"
Samus froze there. She knew that screech anywhere.
A sparkle was in the sky and coming at light speed was a pterodactyl-like creature.
"Ridley...!" she tried to take aim on him with her cannon before she was grabbed by Ridley and thrown at a large rock causing errors and sparks from her suit. Samus was immoblized.
Ridley came charging at Samus, and if he attacked her again she was likely to be dead until something stood in front of her.
Before her very eyes Pit was slashed by Ridley so hard that he was thrown and tumbling onto the ground.
"PIT!" she yelled.
Ridley lost attention on Samus and started to attack Pit.
She tried moving but her suit was still sparking and still had errors.
All she could do was watch the green grass dyed red as she laid on the rock, totally unable to do anything except watch.
It seemed Ridley lost interest in attacking Pit and flew away.
Samus' suit stopped sparking and getting errors. She threw her helmet off and ran over to Pit.
She fell on her knees to see him with the same hazy blue eyes.
Pit's clothes had deep red stains all over and all the wounds on his body was still fresh and the grass under and around him was stained.
Red.
Everything was red.
"Pit! Pit! PIT!" Samus started yelling but didn't get an answer, and it didn't seem like he was breathing.
"N-No...!" Samus started crying, tears dripping everywhere and one fell on his cheek.
"... Onee...?"
She realized Pit could barely turn his head to Samus.
"Pit?! Pit! I'm bringing you home-"
He put a hand on Samus' cheek, it was cold.
"Don't... I..."
She placed both of her hands on his hand that was on her cheek and started crying more.
"Sor... ry..."
Samus realized that his hand slowly slipped out of her hands and fell to the ground.
"No...! NO...!" she cried more.
"D-Don't leave me...! Pit...!"
