Hey guys, it's been forever since I updated this story and I apologise. I had two of my stories deleted off the sight and I lost interest in writing. I was only able to update two chapters in four months out of all my stories. Even though I'm writing again I've struggled to write for my Harry Potter fics, so I can't promise how often this story is going to be updated. I'm focusing on my new Hunger Games fic at the moment. If your interested it's called Forever in your Favour.
Anyway... this chapter seemed to fall into place and I started writing it last now and completed it this morning. Hope you all enjoy it and please review :)
Baby Teddy
A week later Hermione was sat in the living room reading her book when an owl flew into the room, the letter dropped on to her knees and startled her. She quickly placed her bookmark in her page and picked up the letter. On the front was her name and address, ripping open the top she pulled out the letter.
Hermione.
Dora went into labour this morning and gave birth to our son Teddy at 8:09. Your welcome to come visit whenever, Dora is to stay in the hospital for the next 48 hours but baby and mum are perfectly fine. If you'd like to visit we're in room 108A on the fourth floor Maternity.
Hope to see you soon Remus.
Hermione places the book on the coffee table and jumps up, she waddles out into the garden and towards where the apples where growing. She stopped and watched as Blaise reached and picked an apple and placed into the basket at his feet. Feeling as though he's being watched Blaise lifts his head and shields his eyes before smiling.
"Hermione what are you doing here?" Hermione steps closer to him and stands under the tree sheltering from the sun. How they got sun in the school she wasn't sure but ignored the thought, she'd ask Professor McGonagall later.
"Tonks has had the baby I'm going over to the hospital now."
"Okay well do you need me to come with you?"
"No I'll be okay unless of course you'd like to come with?" the look on his face told her, he didn't.
"Well be careful. You going by floo?" Hermione nodded. She kissed his cheek and walked back towards the house. When she was out of sight Blaise picked up the basket full of fruit and jogged over to the gym in the out building. He pushed open the door and saw Draco jogging on the treadmill.
"Dray, Hermione's gone out do you think now would be a good time to start the surprise?" Draco's eyes lit up and he nodded stepping down from the treadmill he followed Blaise out of the out building.
The hospital was busy with patients when Hermione stepped out of the fireplace. She hurried into the Maternity section and pushed the button on the lift. Once the lift arrived she stepped in and pushed the button labelled 4. The lift propelled four floors up and when the doors opened she hurried out and began searching for the door labelled 108A.
"104…105…106…107…108…108!" she knocked on the door and slowly pushed it forward. Poking her head around the door her eyes settled on Tonks cradling a bundle of blankets in her arms.
"Hermione!" she cried softly, "c'mon in."
She steps in slowly and finally sees Remus, he looks younger than she's ever seen him, he's smiling brightly and his eyes are showing nothing but joy.
"Congratulations," she wraps her arms around his waist and hugs him tightly. I'm so happy for you!" she pulls away and kisses Tonks on the cheek before peering down at the baby in her arms.
A tuft of blue hair peeks out from behind the blanket and as he opens his eyes she sees bright stunning grey orbs staring back at her. She strokes his cheek affectionately and with her other hand wipes away the tears that are threatening to fall.
"He's beautiful guys… hey little Teddy you're so beautiful."
"Isn't he just the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?" gushes Tonks stroking the blue hair.
"Looks like his momma alright," Remus chuckles settling in the chair beside the bed. "Gave us a bit of shock this morning, we weren't expecting the little Marauder for another couple of weeks."
"Looks like he's already looking forward to causing trouble."
"You're not kidding there Hermione."
"It's obvious he's got some of you in him Tonks but does he have symptoms of lycanthropy?"
"The doctors tested him as soon as he was born all tests came back negative, he's a Metamorphmagus though. Guess he could only have one or the other." Explains Tonks smiling. "If I'm honest I'm glad he's like me and not his dad." Beside her Remus nods and Hermione agrees, lycanthropy is a horrible curse and she couldn't imagine the pain little Teddy would feel if he was forced to transform, so being a Metamorphmagus is so much better, the little guy will enjoy changing his face as much as he mother she assumes.
"Who's met him so far?"
"Erm my parents, Remus's parents, Sirius was like the first person here though, we sent the letters to our parents and Sirius announcing I'd gone into labour, Sirius burst through the doors five minutes after we'd set the letters out. Declaring he wanted to see the baby and where was it. I hadn't even started pushing yet!" The three of us start laughing, Hermione envisioned Sirius running through the corridors as Padfoot probably knocking over people as he went before transforming back in to his regular form before pushing open the door and yelling "where is the little marauder." For Tonks to snap at him to be quiet and that the baby hadn't arrived yet.
"He stayed before it started getting a little messy and excused himself to get a drink and something to eat. He had turned considerably paler as the labour went on." Chuckled Remus, it was obvious that he was planning on Sirius never forgetting any of this.
"So planning on doing it again?" Hermione asked cheekily. Tonks scoffed and hit the brunette beside her.
"You know what's weird, all I remember is feeling pain, I couldn't tell you anything about the birth other than it hurting an awful lot."
"My mum said you forget what the labour is actually like when you've had the baby, she said as soon as the baby is in your arms the memory of it vanishes." Tonks nodded in agreement telling her it was the weirdest thing she'd ever experienced.
It was that moment for Teddy to start crying, it started of quietly and Tonks rocked him softly but his wails heightened and turned in to screams of distress. The new parents looked at one another in shock both trying to calm the crying baby.
"Looks like someone's unhappy," the three adults looked up at the voice as Narcissa walked into the room followed by Lucius. The two men shared quiet greeting of nods as Narcissa hurried over to Teddy.
"I don't know what's a matter with him he was all quiet less than a minute ago." Tonks said quite alarmed but Narcissa just waved an arm.
"Let me have a look." Tonks carefully placed Teddy into Narcissa's arms and watched as her Aunt quickly placed him in an upright position carefully holding on to his head before bobbing him up and down, rubbing her hand gently over his back Teddy's cries slowly transformed into whimpers before stopping completely.
"How did you do that?"
"Some babies like to be lifted every now and again. Draco was a fussy baby hated both he cried day in and day out. This little guy just wanted to see what was going on." She tells them softly as she holds him back in her arms with a leverage so he isn't lying flat on his back.
"Isn't that right sweetie, you just wanted to see everyone didn't you." Hermione, Tonks and Remus stared at Narcissa in shock, never had they heard the cold spoken Lady Malfoy speak so childishly.
"If Draco was a difficult baby I pray the twins turn out nothing like him. Imagine two of them." Hermione's face transformed into one of horror before looking at Lucius.
"You'll be free for babysitting duties right?" she smiled sweetly and the aging Malfoy scowled at her.
"No, defiantly not. It's not going to happen. I did it once and that was enough to put me off the thought of a second one. There is no way I'm taking two."
"Of course we'll have them Hermione, I'll never say no to having my beautiful grandsons." The glares Lucius sent to Narcissa did nothing to sway her.
"Not long now is it?"
"Nope 18 weeks to go."
Narcissa let out an inappropriate squeal while Lucius shook his head at his wife. Hermione placed her hand on her stomach as one of the little ones kicked.
"You not excited Lucius?" Remus asks.
"I'm looking forward to them arriving, more to see what they're like and what their personalities are like then the actually screaming they're going to do." Hermione smiled at the older man. He wouldn't say he was excited but she knew he was, months with Draco had taught her the ways Malfoy men express their emotions.
"Did you hear about Severus?" Lucius asked, the group shook their head. "Well he told me McGonagall is pregnant."
Hermione and Tonks cooed at the news, both looked at one another imagining the little boy with a cheesy grin smiling at the cameras.
"You know I think they're gonna have the cutest kids," chuckled Tonks as she smoothed the blue hair on Teddy's head.
"Was he born with blue hair Dora?" Narcissa asked, her eyes finally catching a look at the blue hair.
"No it was really odd though, born blonde and he screwed up his face when he was placed in my arms and it suddenly went blue."
"Is he a werewolf then?" said Lucius and Remus grinned shaking his head, a sigh of relief was released from both blondes in the room.
An hour past and Hermione declared it was time for her to go. Telling Remus and Tonks she would revisit when they were settled at home she said her goodbyes and left the hospital descending in the lift and disappearing through the fireplace. Arriving back at home she wondered into the kitchen to grab an apple that Blaise had brought in.
"Blaise, Draco you home?" nothing, frowning she climbed the steps and poked her head through the window that scaled the outdoors, the lights in the gym were off and she could spot neither of the males outdoors. A noise in the room at the end of the corridor caught her attention and she headed in that direction.
Draco quickly stepped out of the door with a smile on his face. "Why are your hands blue?" Draco grinned and winked before leaning down to a kiss.
"So how's my new half cousin?"
"Oh Draco he's beautiful, he looks like Remus but he's a Metamorphmagus he's got this tuft of blue hair on top of his head. He's a stunner and he's not got any of curse in him. He's going to be a normal little boy, well normal as you can get with being a Metamorphmagus."
"That's great, I can imagine Lupin is relieved not to have passed on his fury little problem."
Blaise walked out of the room and his clothes she noted where changed from before and had splatters of blue paint on them.
"What have you both being doing?"
"Go have a look," Draco says smiling and the boys step back from the door. Walking into the room she gasped, the empty space before was now a soft baby blue with a border of sheep around the middle. The rocking chair from her baby shower was in the corner of the room and the two cribs she had ordered we're now set up in the centre, a blue and green blanket where placed in the cribs. Dark blue carpet stretched across the floor with a small rug in the middle. The wardrobe in the corner was filled with all the clothes that had been given to hair and the nappies were filled in the draw. Bottles and dummies were stacked on the side and the changing table was placed near the window with a bin for nappies beside it.
Draco and Blaise leaned in the doorway watching with a soft smile as she touched the walls, the chairs and cribs. Spinning around she smiled at the two men. Walking to Draco she buried her face in his shoulder and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you sweetheart, I love it." Standing on her tiptoes she placed a kiss on his lips. He pulled back and kissed her forehead.
"Love you baby,"
Pulling away she stood in front of Blaise and hugged him tightly. "This is amazing I can't believe you've done this." planting a kiss on her his lips she relaxed into his arms and stared at the room. Blaise laced one arm around her waist and rested it on her stomach. The baby kicked at the notion and he smiled.
"So you like it then," Draco asked and she nodded.
"It's amazing, makes it feel even more real than before," Draco laced his hand with hers and smiled.
"The little Rugrats will be here before we know it." Draco said and Hermione nodded.
"I just hope they're not going to be as fussy as you were as a child," she chuckled and he frowned.
"Want to explain that?"
"Well your mum and dad turned up at the hospital and your mum managed to stop Teddy instantly. She said you were a fussy child and your dad said you put him off the idea of a second."
"What can I say, I was a special child," he winked and they all laughed.
