Hey guys, really sorry for leaving you all for such a long time! I've had like no inspiration to write the next chapter for this story because I didn't like it so I decided to delete the idea and give you this little chapter instead, doesn't really add much to the plot like but it's a fluffy little chapter in there for you! I've even added an extra chapter in general for the story so it's going to be a chapter longer than first planned. Enough of my rambling... enjoy the chapter
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or any of the characters.
Reassuring Love
The pregnancy was going well for Hermione, the morning sickness had subsided weeks ago and the cravings had begun. Peanut-butter and banana sandwiches were this week's desired meal, for both Draco and Blaise it was a stage they couldn't wrap their heads around. How could something so unappealing be so desirable? After two arguments over her eating habits, both Blaise and Draco said nothing more on the subject, even at four o'clock in the morning.
The school was buzzing with pregnant women, in whatever direction you looked you'd see a protruding stomach and an anxious male face not so far behind. Hermione couldn't remember a time when she'd seen so many nervous and anxious male faces in one place.
News like always travelled fast in Hogwarts so when it was announced that Professor McGonagall was expecting people were quick to take bets on whether the baby would be a boy or a girl. The last Hermione had heard, the bets were leaning more towards a boy. Since Professor McGonagall's announcement the school had gone baby mad with forty-one girls announcing they were pregnant. Only a small section of girls were not expecting a bouncing baby.
Hermione was sat in the living room looking through a baby magazine when Draco walked through the door. Their relationship had progressed significantly in the last few weeks and now with the twins only three months away they leaned on one another more than ever.
"What you reading?" he asked as he slipped off his shoes.
"Nothing really, just browsing," she replied glancing over her shoulder watching him with soft eyes. "You have a nice walk?"
He nodded before taking a seat beside her, he slid his arm around her waist and pulled her close. As soon as her body touched his she melted in to his embrace.
"Anything you want from the magazine?" Hermione shook her head relaxing at the feel of his hands running softly over her smooth skin.
"I was just looking at different designs. What do you think to this one?" he peered over her shoulder and looked at the one she had pointed out. The jumper was made of thick blue cotton and a design of a broomstick was stitched on the front. Daddy's boy was inscribed above the broomstick.
"I prefer the green one," he winked, the jumper was Slytherin green with a snake designed in the middle, the words were simple but effective, just like daddy.
Shaking her head Hermione flipped the page and browsed the images on the sheet before turning the next page.
"Shouldn't we be looking for baby grows and stuff?" it didn't make sense to Draco to be looking at clothes suitable for a 12 month old when the twins had yet to arrive.
"We've plenty of baby clothes, babies grow quickly we need to have clothes for 6 months and up." She explains pointing to a group of tops in blue, green and red saying twin one and twin two.
"I like them, but who would be twin one and twin two?"
"The first born would be twin one and the second born would be twin two." Draco looked at her for a second before a smile broke out on to his face. Shaking his head Hermione laughed at him.
The duo continued to browse through the magazine, Hermione becoming increasing uncomfortable as the minutes ticked by. In the last few weeks the twins seemed to have discovered their feet and at every given moment a foot would collide with her side or her bladder leaving her in constant discomfort.
From where his hand rested, Draco could feel the tiny kicks and he slid his hand further up her stretching stomach and rested his palm softly where the baby kicked. It was as though the baby could feel his presence and the steady kicks slowly retreated.
"Driving your mummy mad already aren't you little man, you're not even hear yet and you've got us wrapped around your tiny fingers." He still found it weird to talk to her belly, Hermione had been adamant that both he and Blaise would speak to the twins on a daily basis so they'd recognise their voices. He had walked in on Hermione so many times with a book in her lap, while she sat on the bed reading out aloud to them. Stories of the Three little pigs, Robin Hood and Jungle Book had been read aloud so many times that he was certain that when the twins finally arrived they'd be able to recite the stories back to her.
When he had enquired around the heritage of the books she had replied quickly that her children would have knowledge on both worlds. He'd quickly raised his hands in a quiet surrender, before changing the subject to divert her from a possible argument. Stress was the last thing he wanted to inflict upon her, so he had found himself biting his tongue on more occasions than he'd thought possible.
Her voice brought him out of his thoughts, "Are you nervous?" his pride wanted to say no, of course he wasn't nervous, he was a Malfoy and Malfoy's don't get nervous but he was, completely and bone shakingly terrified.
His reply was a soft whisper but Hermione heard it loud and clear "terrified"
"Me too," she mumbled quietly linking her fingers with Draco's free hand.
"I'm sure we'll be fine though, there's three of us and only two of them."
Hermione snorted and shook her head. "You make them sound like the enemy,"
"Well they are, they're going to be stealing my mummy time."
Swilling on her seat Hermione looked up at him, "Draco you're welcome to go see your mummy anytime you like." A wicked grin spread on her face and her eyes lit up with amusement.
"Very funny," he stretched out his legs and brought his and Hermione's joined hands onto her stomach and raised her on to his lap and rested his head on her shoulder, burying his face in to neck.
Hermione eyes closed and a whimper escaped her as she felt his soft lips press on that delicate sensitive spot just behind her ear.
"Draco behave," she moaned softly when his tongue slid out of his mouth and ran up the shell of her ear and down again. He slipped her ear lobe in between his teeth and bit down harshly erecting a low moan from Hermione. Grinning wickedly he blew warm air against her dampened skin and she shivered against him.
"Everything is going to be fine, the twins will be fine, they'll be healthy and loud. One will be outgoing and the other will be a little more reserved. One will cry and scream while the other will whimper and sniffle. One will sit and read with his mum and the other will want to fly with his dads. They'll both demand our attention at all times, and they'll have all their grandparents at their every whim. So don't worry everything is going to be just fine. It won't be easy but we'll make it work and then in a few years' time we'll add to our family with a little girl with curly hair and chubby cheeks and both Blaise and I will be completely whipped and you'll say we're spoiling them but we'll ignore you like we always do." He takes hold of her face and turns her to face him. "So sweetheart, relax, enjoy and don't worry!" and he leans down to kiss her and her eyes slip shut as she relaxes into the kiss. The fear of failure, something bad happening to her babies, of being a bad mum slowly drifts away and she allows Draco to take her to the land of bliss filled with mind blowing pleasure and love.
Tada... so what do you think? Was okay, did you enjoy it? Let me, know hopefully the next chapter will be up soon, but I do have another 8 stories that I need to update so hopefully I'll get chapter 30 up soon but please be patient with me.
