"Mightyena I'm serious, you need to slow it down a bit." Amorah called after the briskly pacing Pokémon that marched in front of her. Since finishing the battle with the Ace trainer, Logan, Mightyena had forced himself from his poke ball and now walked with her and Umbreon. He held a good gimp to his footing but he never complained or even slowed; the stubborn beast.

Looking down and throwing a worried look toward Umbreon, the dark cat caught on to her thoughts and picked up his footing to walk next to his friend, the two without a doubt holding a conversation of their own as they growled back and forth.

After her very first battle, she had pretty good luck in not running into any more trainers. Even though winning the battle, she really had no more desire to partake in anymore today and pretty sure Umbreon felt the same. She did, however, run into quite a bit of Pokémon while passing through the forest. Caterpie's littered the trees as they crawled around, Metapod's hung low on the branches as they snoozed the day away and she even saw a swarm of Beedrill's buzz by with no incident. She was constantly awe struck by everything she saw.

Breon! The call hit her ears and pulled her from her gazing to see that Mightyena finally stopped in his brisk walking and now stood there panting heavily as he dropped his hind into a sit. Once she was close enough to her Pokémon, Amorah reached her hand toward Mightyena and gave him a loving stroke to his ears.

"I know you don't want to be cooped up anymore but you still need some more time to heal. I think this walk was enough for the day, don't you think?" She asked as she continued to stoke the dark dog's ears and earned a rather reluctant nod as he nudged her hand.

"Now return." She commanded and held the red poke ball out and Mightyena was sent back into his home. "When we reach Pewter we'll find something to eat." With a growl erupting from her stomach, she placed Mightyena back onto her belt and stared at Umbreon who sat silently next to her.

"We need to hurry up and get out of here. I didn't pack food and I don't think I'll make it through the night without complaining." With that the girl began walking and the dark cat fell into her step as they continued on their trek through the darkening woods. She knew it was still daylight but with the thick trees, all light was being eaten away causing Umbreon to use his Flash again in hope of easing his trainer's fears.

"Gosh darn it! I almost had it!" A loud and frustrated yell erupted a jolt in Amorah as she jumped to a halt and Umbreon to stand directly before her in his battle stance. Some grumbling and rustling could be heard as the bushes swayed violently, the yelling never ceasing as the sounds grew closer.

Holding her breath the best she could she watched as a brush shook violently before her and before she could yell a command toward Umbreon, a girl, who looked to be just a bit older than Amorah, popped out from the leaves with a red face and frustrated green eyes as she adjusted her hat upon her red haired head and dusted off the front of her green overalls.

"Darn Pidgeotto, stupid fast flying gremlin on wings." She continued to grumble to herself as she finished dusting her clothes off and stood straight with a calming sigh, and then she noticed Amorah standing only a few feet away with a battle ready Umbreon.

"Oh wow! An Umbreon!" She called excitedly forgetting her past frustration as she dug through her black side bag and pulled out a red book looking thing. With the smile never leaving her face, she pointed the booklet toward Umbreon and Amorah was stunned to see it flip open and a robot voice ring from it.

Umbreon, the moon light Pokémon and evolved form of Eevee. This Pokémon evolved as a result of exposure to the moon's wave. It hides silently in darkness and waits for its foes to make a move. The rings on its body glow when it leaps to attack.

"Wow thank you so much miss! I haven't even seen an Eevee yet, this is so exciting!" The girl hopped lightly on her feet as she closed her little computer and shoved it back into her bag. Once her belongings were in place, the two girls stared it out awkwardly; both waiting for the other to say something.

With the red haired girl becoming more awkward by the second, she stepped forward and offered her hand toward Amorah with her smile never faltering. "My name is Evelyn!"

Amorah looked from her hand then toward Evelyn's green eyes that held so much happiness and light, it made a smile reach Amorah's lips as she gripped Evelyn's hand in hers and giving a soft shake.

"I'm Amorah, it's nice to meet you." For the first time in her sixteen years, she actually had someone introduce themselves without force. Whenever she met other children, they were with their mom's or dads who would force them to say 'hello' or introduce themselves. Evelyn did it on her own free will.

Evelyn turned her smile from Amorah to stare at the handsome dark type that sat quietly at her heels. "He's very beautiful. The first dark type I've seen on my short journey in this region."

"Are you not from here?" Amorah asked when her interest peeked upon hearing 'region'.

Evelyn laughed and shook her head, her red curls bouncing around in an envious fashion. "No I'm not, I actually just moved here from Hoenn with my parents. They're friends with Professor Oak and he sent me on my own journey around these parts as a 'new' trainer per say." She used her fingers for emphasis at the word 'new' and it was then that Amorah understood.

"So that thing you had that spoke about my Umbreon, what was that?" Amorah mentally face palmed at asking the question and she was sure she was about to be laughed at.

Evelyn smiled and dug her Pokedex from her bag and handed it to Amorah who held it awkwardly like it were a new born baby. "It's a Pokedex, every new trainer gets one at the beginning of their journey. It records that data of Pokémon you encounter, this one is my second. Do you not have one?"

Amorah turned the device in her hands before stopping and stared sadly at it. If she went and got her starter like she wanted all those years ago, there would be no doubt that she was would have had this thing filled to the brim with data. Here she was a sixteen year old who had no idea what a pokedex was, how pathetic.

Instead of answering she shook her head solemnly and handed the dex back to Evelyn who took it silently and gave Amorah a pitied look. "Oh well, that's too bad; they're pretty nifty to have. Oh, you wouldn't by any chance be heading toward Pewter would you?"

Amorah cleared her head and offered Evelyn a soft smile. "We are actually, we've been walking through this forest for quite a bit and we're starving."

"My team and I are too, would you mind if we joined you? You're the first person I've ran into around here that isn't solely looking for a battle." Evelyn's green eyes locked onto Amorah's blues and it was then both girls knew that they had finally found a friend.

"I don't see why not. It would be nice to have someone to travel with." With that the girls smiled toward one another and then both set forward toward the end of the forest where their first city lay waiting to offer them their adventures.
