#14: Meet the Brother

A week has passed after Sasuke's birthday. Everyone were bombarding me with questions about where we were on Sasuke's birthday. Some speculated that he proposed to me in a yatch or Tokyo tower. Some even said we already got married in a resort or in luxury hotel. While we were in the Uchiha Island, the university prepared for his birthday but everyone got devastated since Sasuke ran away with me. Ino-chan just glared at me and disappointedly walked away.

Sakura, Karin and Temari were all fuming when I got back and told them that I can't do this anymore. Oh, wait. I don't want to do this anymore. They threatened me that they will announce in the coming foundation week what we all planned against Sasuke. But I am determined to confess already before they do it. Sasuke asked me to come with him tonight for a dinner and so I will tell him. I know I will crush his heart and he will probably curse me or hurt me, but I've already decided that I will accept his punishment whatever it is and then I will stay away from him forever. I'll come with Neji-niisan and live with him in New York, or wherever he prefers to stay.

I was now walking towards the gates of Tokyo-U when I heard my phone ringing and so I took it from my pocket and answered it.

"Wifey."

"Sasuke? Where are you?"

"Miss me?" I could imagine his annoying smirk right now but chose to set it aside. "You don't have to think so hard. Anyway, get a cab and come to Hashiramam's Place, i'll be waiting for you."

And before I can even say anything, he ended the call. Hashirama's Place is one of the most expensive restaurant owned by the late President, Hashirama Senju.

"Hinata!"

I turned around was greeted by a smiling Naruto. "H-Hey."

"Look I know you and Sasuke are still-"

"Uhm... I..." Cut what Naruto was going to say because I know it's about him and me. And I seriously don't want to include him in between me and Sasuke right now. "Sorry, Naruto-kun. I can't... Sasuke is... He is a good guy. I... I don't want to make you wait anymore."

"Do you like him?" I bowed my head down unable to answer him. "Do love my bestfriend, Hinata?"

"I... I don't know."

"You really should get your head straight, Hina." Naruto smiled sadly and walked away.

So much for earning my Prince Charming's affection. I'm such a mess right now but I did what Sasuke said and arrived in the restaurant after 30 minutes. The door opened and fake a smile at the crew.

"Excuse me, are you Ms. Hinata Hyuuga?"

I looked at the pretty girl in the reception and then I smiled and nodded.

"You are one lucky girl. Please let me escort you to Hashirama's Diamond room." The crew in front of me said and bowed. I bowed back and nodded.

He started walking and I started following him. "Uhm, excuse me. But what is this Diamond room?"

The guy smiled. "It is prestigious room only offer to very important people such as Sasuke Uchiha, your boyfriend."

"O-Oh..." How convenient. I snorted inside my head. After couple of minutes walking, we arrived at a platinum door and it opened.

"Mr. Uchiha will be here in a minute. Enjoy your stay at Hashirama's, madam." He bowed again and walked away so I didn't manage to thank him.

I walked inside the Diamond room and was greeted by a smiling clone of Sasuke Uchiha, except this one has stress lines on either side of his nose and his hair was not a duck-butt, his bangs falls in both sides of his face. Have I ever told you that I have the biggest crush on this person when I was a kid?

Well, yes. Even before Naruto, this man is the center of my galaxy, none other than Itachi Uchiha.

I almost had a heart attack when he smiled and walked towards me. "Hello, Hinata."

I blinked a couple of times and stared dumbly at Itachi, wondering if I'm currently hallucinating.

"I'm not an illusion." Oh, Kami. Itachi Uchiha can read minds?! "And I'm not a mind-reader. You just happen to stare at me like I'm your worst nightmare."

And then he chuckled. Yeah, right. Not a mind-reader my ass.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to kill you, Hinata."

I smiled slightly and bowed apologetically. "Sorry if I offended you with my staring. Are you, uhm..."

"No, I'm joining you and Sasuke in this dinner. I went here to talk to you."

I gulped and looked curiously at him. "About what?"

"Sasuke. I know what you're doing, Hinata. But I'm not here to scold you about revenging on my otōto. I can see in your eyes that you obviously wanted to stop and confess your plans of ruining him."

I stared at him in surprise. How did he... Oh, wait. He is a genius.

"When I found out Sasuke is seeing someone I felt relieved and happy that he finally stopped breaking girls' hearts. I thought he'd never be able to move on from what our mother did. But his actions lately proved it wrong. He's not so cold anymore, he already began talking with me and accepting dinners with me and our father. And when I found out Hinata Hyuuga is the girl he is dating, I immediately suspected you."

I looked down and bit my lip. Itachi must be mad at me.

"I know you've NEVER paid attention to my brother ever since you were children. I think you even like his bestfriend Naruto instead."

Uh, actually, you were the one I liked when I was a kid. But of course, I'll never tell him.

"Please consider your decisions and actions, Hinata. I know you're a good girl. I know you wouldn't hurt Sasuke after knowing he's in love with you. Sort out your feelings. If you made a big mistake, you'll end up sending him to the old Sasuke... Or the mental hospital."

I seriously wanted to laugh at his attempt at a joke but I ended up smiling sadly. I didn't exactly know why but my eyes are getting teary. Do I already care for Sasuke Uchiha this much? I was startled when Itachi carefully held my hands and stared into my eyes.

"Tell me... Do you like my brother?"

"I... I-"

"Hina, sorry... I was..." Before I could finish, Sasuke entered the room but froze and exchange glances between me and Itachi, who immediately released my hands. "Did I interrupt something?" Sasuke said, annoyance evident in his voice.

"No, Sasuke. It's not what you're thinking."

"Indeed, it's not, little brother. I was... Asking Hinata for a favor."

"And you had to hold both of her hands?"

I noticed Itachi smirked. Ugh, Uchihas. "Yes, it was a big favor. Anyway I'm going since I know I'm not needed." He turned to me and smiled. "Thank you, Hinata."

"Hai, anytime." I bowed at him. He walked towards Sasuke, tapped his shoulder and exited the room.

I sighed and decided to walk towards him. "I know what you're thinking, and no. He was really just asking me to take care of you. Big favor." And then I chuckled. Basically, Itachi did asked something about Sasuke.

I saw him smirk that made me sigh in relief. "Sorry about Itachi."

"Nah, it's fine. It's cute though, he's very protective of his otōto."

"Hn. I know you were in love with when we were kids."

"It was just a crush." I corrected and he chuckled.

"Good to know. I don't want aniki to be my rival." He smirked at me. I can feel my cheeks heating up. Oh, what the hell!

"I'm sorry, Sasuke..." I whispered but I know he will be able to hear it.

He smiled at me and hugged me, my face buried in his clothed chest. "It's okay. I know I can gain your affections soon."

It's not that I am sorry about but I let him think that.
