AN: Okay so yeah it took a little while for me to figure out which girl for Spike should get the first arch but in the end I was happy with what a decided and I think it makes more sense in the long run but anyway I've kept you all waiting long enough so without further ado I give chapter 7
Chapter 7
Spike yawned wide as he woke up after a well-deserved rest, he wiped the sleep out of his eyes as he pushed himself off the couch. The smell of bacon and eggs hung in the air making his stomach rumble. A quick peak in the kitchen revealed Deidrick finishing up a nice sized pile of bacon and a pan full of eggs. "Dude I'm starving" Spike said snatching up a piece of bacon.
"Did you wash your hands…after all who knows where they've been after last night" Deidrick smirked grabbing a glass of orange juice from the counter.
"In that case did you brush your teeth" Spike quipped back making Deidrick spit out his orange juice. "Actually in your case you should probably just get your tongue bleached" Spike laughed.
"When you say it like that it makes it sounds like I just lick anything" Deidrick frowned.
"Don't you" Spike choked.
"I don't know ask your mom" Deidrick snapped.
"Really dude that's so gross" Spike shuddered.
"Yeah you're right" Deidrick agreed. "Anyway grab some plates would you". Spike nodded and grabbed two plates from the cabinet that Deidrick proceeded to shovel eggs and bacon onto.
"This smells amazing" Spike said grabbing a plate and sitting down on a stool at the counter his mouth watering.
"Thanks you want some OJ" Deidrick said refilling his glass.
"Sure" Spike said taking a glass from Deidrick after he filled it with up.
"So you got any plans for today" Spike asked after Deidrick sat next to him.
"Yeah I figured I go work-"
"What do you mean work" Spike said cutting Deidrick off.
"Well if you let me finish, first off not everybody can be as well off as you are and secondly I was gonna say I'm probably gonna go work with Derpy today" Deidrick finished.
"Dude I'm not that well-off" Spike grumbled, but Deidrick just rolled his eyes. "And you're gonna help Derpy out I thought she just had her paper route early in the mornings" Spike said stuffing his mouth with a few strips of bacon.
"Yeah I thought so at first too but it turns out she has like half a dozen part time jobs" Deidrick revealed.
"So you're gonna go help her out huh" Spike asked.
"Yeah pretty much" Deidrick sighed.
"You're surprisingly fond of Derpy you know" Spike said slyly.
"Dude don't even go there I don't like her like that" Deidrick said holding his fork threateningly.
"Sure you don't, just like you weren't checking her out during the party last night" Spike grinned.
"I wasn't checking her out…I was just keeping an eye on her" Deidrick said defensively.
"If that's what you wanna call it" Spike shrugged.
"Anyway I'm gonna shower and head out…you got any plans for today" Deidrick asked.
"Not really I guess I'll just chill until something comes up" Spike sat his empty plate and glass in the dishwasher next to Deidrick's.
"Alright just make sure you lock up if you go anywhere" Deidrick said heading downstairs to shower.
"Yeah I know….and make sure you brush your teeth" Spike smirked. Deidrick flicked him off as he shut the door that lead to the stairs. Spike went back and sat on the couch patting his full stomach, he planned on just having a lazy day but a text from Applejack changed that. Spike unlocked his phone and read the text.
AJ 'Hey Spike if you're not busy today I could use some help on the farm today'
Spike 'Sure AJ I'm free today and don't mind helping you out, but I'll need a ride since Deidrick is busy'
AJ 'Great I'll come pick you up be there in 15'
Spike 'Cool see you then'
Spike threw his phone down and ran upstairs to shower and change.
By the time he had showered and changed into a pair of gym shorts and a dark purple tank top Deidrick had already left and Applejack was pulling up outside the house. Spike locked the front door before hopping into the passenger side of Applejack's pickup.
"Well howdy Spike" Applejack greeted him cheerfully she was wearing pair of cut up jeans and an orange tank top.
"Hey AJ" Spike greeted back with a smile as Applejack took off towards the outskirts of the town. "How you feeling" Spike asked after a brief silence.
"I'm feeling amazing after your little magic finger treatment…though to be honest I'm a bit jealous of the special treatment you gave Fluttershy" Applejack admitted.
"Yeah well things were getting pretty intense I kinda just went with my instincts on that one" Spike admitted with an embarrassed grin.
"Well ah hope you go with yer instincts more often especially when I'm around" Applejack said giving him a quick wink. Spike grinned and gave Applejack a quick kiss on the cheek. "What was that for" Applejack asked her cheeks taking a rosy tone.
"Just going with my instincts" Spike smirked.
"Yer a sweet little fella yah know" Applejack smiled sweetly.
Before long the two of them arrived at Sweet Apple Acre's, Applejack pulled her pick up in front of a barn before turning off the engine and getting out. Spike followed her lead hopping out of the passenger side. As he followed Applejack his eyes went wide at the massive orchard off in the distance. "Wow Applejack I can see why you would need the help" Spike whistled at the shear amount of work it must take to pick all the apples.
"Yeah it's a lot of work…don't worry though most of the works already been done since it's later in the season I just need yer help wheeling the wheel barrels full ah apples back up to the storage barn…usually mah older brother would help me out but he's off on ah date with his girlfriend" Applejack sighed.
"That doesn't sound too bad, plus it's a nice day so let's get started" Spike said stretching.
"I like yer enthusiasm come on and follow me" Applejack said leading Spike towards the nearest orchard. Spike followed right behind her unable to stop looking around at the well-kept orchard.
"It's hard to believe that your family manages this whole farm by themselves it pretty impressive" Spike said as they walked deeper into the orchard.
"Well ah do have a pretty big family, most of them are just out of town at the moment but I'm sure you'll get to meet them eventually" Applejack said.
"That sounds like fun I always wondered what it would be like to have a big family" Spike said putting his hands in his pocket.
"Yah don't have any brothers or sisters" Applejack asked.
"Nope I'm an only child, unless you count Deidrick" Spike chuckled.
"Didn't yah ever get lonely being all by yourself" Applejack asked.
"I did at first it really but I met Deidrick when I was really young so I wasn't lonely for long.
"Well that's good I've always had mah older brother and younger sister around, even though they can be a handful at times" Applejack laughed.
"Yeah I can believe that if they're anything like you" Spike laughed.
"Hey I'm not that bad" Applejack said puffing out her cheeks.
"Yeah right between you and Rainbow I'm surprised the school is still standing." Spike laughed.
"This coming from the guy that darn near blew up the entire chemistry lab" Applejack smirked.
"That one wasn't on me luckily everything Pinky Pie mixed together only resulted a minor explosion" Spike said scratching the back of his head as he remembered Pinky Pie trying to become a mad scientist in the middle of class and laughing evilly as she mixed everything she could get her hands on. "I just happened to be her lab partner at the time" Spike sighed.
"Still pretty funny if you ask me" Applejack laughed.
"Yeah I guess in hindsight it is, but it definitely wasn't when we had to clean the entire chemistry room after the fact" Spike shook his head.
"Yeah I bet…well we're here so let's get tah work" Applejack said cracking her knuckles in front of what had to be over two dozen large wheel barrels loaded up with apples. Spike watched Applejack get behind the nearest wheel barrel and lift it up with ease. Following her lead Spike went to the Wheel barrel right next to hers and lifted it. "Ready" Applejack asked.
"Yeah let's get started" Spike said beginning to push his wheel barrel. He made a note that even though the Wheel barrels weren't super heavy they still had a decent amount of weight to them and realized Applejack was pretty strong for a girl. But now that he thought about it, it was pretty obvious after all Applejack was always one of the top girls in gym class and unlike Rainbow she wasn't super slim. Applejack was thicker with more curves but everything on her was nice and toned. The more Spike thought about it the more he looked her up and down. Something Applejack took notice of and did her best to not giggle at she even moved her hips a little more to give him a bit of a show.
It took them about 20 minutes to make it back to the storage barn and drop the apples off before going back for more. They made small talk along the way mostly talking about school until they made it back to the wheel barrels and repeated the process of walking them all the way back to the storage barn. Even with the two of them working nonstop at a regular pace it still took over four hours to wheel all the apples back up to the shed and by the time they were done both of them were worn out and sweaty.
"Man I'm glad that's finally over for a second there I never thought we'd finish" Spike said sitting down on the steps leading up to the porch to Applejack's house.
"Yeah me too, glad you were able tah come help me out today ah don't even want to think about how long it would've taken me doing it all by myself" Applejack sighed.
"No problem I'm happy to help" Spike smiled.
"Well ah know you gotta be thirsty after all that so how does an ice cold pitcher of homemade lemonade sound" Applejack smiled.
"That sounds amazing but I'm surprised your offering something non-apple related" Spike chuckled.
"Oh don't be a smart ass" Applejack said bumping him with her hip as she walked in the house. She returned about five minutes later with a pitcher of chilled lemonade and two glasses. "Here yah go" Applejack said handing Spike a glass filled to the brim with lemonade.
"Thanks AJ" Spike said taking the glass. "Wow this is amazing" Spike said after taking his first sip.
"Yah really think so, ah made it myself so I wasn't sure if you'd like it or not Mah brother and sister always say ah make it to sweet" Applejack said sitting down next to Spike.
"No I think it's perfect" Spike said refilling his glass.
"Well it's good to know that someone appreciates it" Applejack sighed leaning back on the steps.
"Yeah I think it's great" Spike said already half way through his second glass.
"Well if yer hungry I can whip us something if yer not in a hurry tah get back home" Applejack offered. As if on cue Spike's stomach growled loudly.
"Yeah some food sounds great right about now and I'm in no rush to get home" Spike said holding his empty stomach.
"Well in that case come on in" Applejack said grabbing him by the arm and pulling him into the house. "Go ahead and make yourself comfortable I'll go get yah when the food is ready" Applejack said leaving him in the living room. Spike look around the room glad to be out of the hot sun the living room had several couches which Spike guessed as because Applejack had a large family. He was content sitting down and resting on the couch until he realized this might be his chance to mess with Applejack a little bit. So he got up and walked as quietly as he could to the kitchen, where he was Applejack in an orange apron with red apples on it humming as she stirred a pot of what smelled like stew. Spike just stood and watched her for a few minutes as she added various seasonings to the pot never missing a beat in whatever song she was humming.
Feeling a little frisky Spike snuck up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist making her jump. "What the heck Spike you nearly scared me half to death" Applejack said calming down she made no move to get out of his grip.
"Sorry about that I was curious about what you were making" Spike said keeping his arms around her waist.
"It's just stew, nothing too fancy" Applejack said stirring the pot.
"Well it smells amazing" Spike complemented.
"Thanks want tah try a bite" Applejack asked grabbing a ladle.
"Sure" Spike said eager for a taste.
Applejack dipped the ladle into the stew and turned around holding her hand under the ladle so it wouldn't spill onto the floor. She gently blew on it to cool it down before letting Spike have a taste.
"Wow that's really good you're an amazing cook" Spike smiled.
"Aww Shucks I ain't nothing special" Applejack said with a small blush.
"Well I think you're amazing" Spike said pulling her a little closer.
"Oh yah don't say" Applejack getting right against him. The two of them looked into each other's eyes they leaned into each other their lips meeting. Applejack felt like fireworks went off inside her head and threw her arms around his shoulders to bring him deeper into the kiss. It wasn't until someone cleared their throat loudly that the two of them snapped back to reality. Spike was so startled he nearly jumped all the way across the kitchen.
"Granny Smith you nearly me scared half to death" Applejack said blushing furiously.
"I don't wanna hear it missy I'm gone for a few hours and I come back tah find yah lip locked and tongue tangled with some boy take just want tah get a piece of yer pie" Granny Smith said waving her cane between Applejack and Spike.
"Oh come on Granny it wasn't like that…Spike's isn't that sort of guy" Applejack tried to argue.
"Yeah I'm sure that's why the rascal waited till I was gone tah sneak on over" Granny Smith said poking Spike in the chest with her cane.
"Granny if yah just listen for a second ah can explain…I asked Spike if he could come over tah help me bring in the apples from the field since it would've taken me all day tah get it done by myself." Applejack explained quickly.
"Bringing in the apples from the field is Big Macintosh job" Granny Smith said not willing to fall for any tricks.
"Big Mac had a date with his girlfriend today so ah told him ah would handle it…so Spike didn't sneak over tah try to get a piece of the pie he was just helping me out that's all" Applejack sighed.
"That still doesn't explain why ah caught yah two kissing in mah kitchen" Granny Smith said looking at Applejack who turned beet red.
"Southern hospitality" Applejack said innocently with a half shrug.
Granny Smith looked from Applejack to Spike and back again, she knew her granddaughter wasn't the type of girl to do anything without thinking it through and now that she looked at him Spike didn't seem like the type of guy that would pressure Applejack into doing anything she didn't want heck if she had to guess it was probably her granddaughter that was making him do what she wanted. "Well since he's already here and yah already made supper I suppose he can stay, but don't go blaming southern hospitality on the fact that yah like the fella" Granny Smith huffed before going to sit in the living room.
"Well that was a surprise" Spike breathed out a sigh of relief.
"Yeah I wasn't expecting Granny Smith tah be back so soon" Applejack admitted. "And if she's back that means she must've picked Applebloom up from her friend's house".
"I'm guessing Applebloom is you're younger sister" Spike said.
"Yeah let me just check to see if she's home" Applejack said sticking her head out of the kitchen into the living room. "APPLEBLOOM GET DOWN HERE AND SET THE TABLE" Applejack yelled.
"Got darn it stop hollering yah almost gave me a heart attack" Granny smith yelled from the other side of the living room.
"GIVE ME A MINUTE TAH PUT MAH STUFF DOWN" Applebloom yelled from upstairs.
"GOT DARN IT I SAID STOP HOLLERING" Granny smith yelled again.
Spike couldn't help but laugh at the Apple family's antics.
A few minutes later Applebloom walked into the kitchen to grab plates from the cabinet and froze when she saw Spike leaning against the counter.
"Umm sis why is there ah cute guy in our kitchen" Applebloom asked.
"Applebloom watch your manners" Applejack chastised.
"What so you don't think I'm cute" Spike said giving her puppy dog eyes.
"Yeah yer cute but I don't need mah little sister getting all gooey over yah" Applejack said crossing her arms. "Applebloom this here is Spike he's a friend of mine and Spike this here mah little sister Applebloom" Applejack said introducing the two officially.
"Hey there nice to meet you" Spike said stretching out his hand.
"Nice to meet you too are yah sure yah not mah sister's boyfriend cause she's never brought a guy home before and yer a cute boy at that plus granny said she caught you two kissing and that one step away from baby making" Applebloom said rapidly.
"Applebloom!" Applejack yelled red faced.
"I think you're missing a few steps there besides like your sister said we're just friends" Spike said.
"Whatever yah say" Applebloom said grabbing bowels from the cabinet above the sink, along with glasses before leaving to go set the table.
"Well you're little sister is certainly interesting" Spike chuckled.
"Yeah hard to believe she's going to be going to the same school as us next year" Applejack sighed.
"Well that's going to be interesting" Spike smiled.
"Don't go getting any funny idea's about mah little sister…yah already got me after all" Applejack winked.
"Oh really I thought you said we're just friends" Spike said crossing his arms.
"We are friends…just with a few added benefits" Applejack said walking over to him and running a finger down his chest.
"Oh well when am I going to get any of these benefits" Spike smirked.
"Hmm that depends on you" Applejack said giving him a quick peck on the lips. "Anyway let eat I know you're plenty hungry".
Spike left the kitchen first and found himself an empty seat at the dining room table, where Applebloom and Granny Smith were already sitting. A few moments later Applejack came in with the whole pot of stew and sat it on the table. "Alright stews done go ahead and help yourselves" Applejack said proud of her handy work.
Spike waited until Applebloom, Applejack and Granny Smith had all made themselves a bowel before making himself one. The stew was perfect and it hit just the right spot so naturally no one had time to talk since they were too busy shoveling stew into their mouths. It wasn't until everyone's third bowel that they slowed down enough to have a conversation.
"So Spike where did you and mah sister meet if yah don't mind me asking" Applebloom asked.
"Well I don't mind at all and we met at school" Spike answered.
"But Sis I thought yah went to an all-girls school" Applebloom said confused.
"Ah do Spike and his friend Deidrick are tah only two exceptions" Applejack answered.
"Oh ah see so what made yah two start talking" Applebloom asked.
"Well Spike here got into a race with Rainbow and almost beat her I thought that was mighty impressive so myself and a few other girls decided to get tah now him a bit better at lunch turns out he's a really sweet guy" Applejack smiled.
"It seems he's a hard worker too I saw all those barrels of apples you two moved I have to say I'm impressed you could keep up with Applejack" Granny Smith smiled.
"Thanks I was just happy I could help I've been into sports since I was young so it wasn't that big of a deal" Spike said brushing off probably one of the hardest days of work he's had in a while.
"Well still that was a good days work you did I'd offer you a day's pay but a think kissing my granddaughter is more than enough of a reward don't you think so young man" Granny Smith said with smile that kinda scared Spike.
"Yes ma'am" Spike said swallowing hard as he finished off the last of his soup.
The rest of the conversation was more pleasant and by the time dinner was done and Spike helped Applejack wash the dishes the sun had already set. "Well Spike I guess I'll take yah home now" Applejack said leading him out the front door. Spike made sure to say bye to Applebloom and to thank Granny Smith for her hospitality. It was a bit chilly since the sun had went down so Spike was thankful for Applejack blasting the heat in her truck on the ride home. The two of them mostly laughed about getting caught by Granny Smith and Applebloom's attempt at trying to interrogate Spike at the dinner table on the ride back to his place. "Thanks for helping me out again Spike it was fun having you around the farm for the day" Applejack smiled as she pulled up outside Spike and Deidrick's place.
"Don't worry about it I had a great time…you know aside from getting caught by your grandma" Spike laughed.
"Yeah that was pretty awkward" Applejack admitted.
"Yeah it was but at least she didn't throw me out" Spike laughed.
"Well that's true…but hey I was wondering since you were such a big help today if yer not busy or anything tommrow you wanna come over from some of Granny Smith famous homemade Apple pie" Applejack asked hopefully.
"That sounds great" Spike smiled his sweet tooth was already starting to ach as he opened the passenger door.
"Glad to hear and maybe after you've tasted Granny Smiths pie we can sneak off and I'll let you try some of me" Applejack said in a sultry voice making Spike's face go beet red.
"I…um…I…ah" Spike stammered to find the right words but before he could Applejack grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him into a quick passionate kiss.
"See you tommrow sugar cub" Applejack said pulling off leaving a stunned Spike.
Spike walked into the front door with an ear to ear grin only to find Deidrick passed out on the couch snoring loudly. Spike had to hold in a laugh figuring Deidrick had a hard day he grab a spare blanket from the hall closet and threw it over him before going upstairs to his room and passing out.
AN: Yeah so in the end I decided on Applejack one because after the last scene I figured it would either be between her or Rainbow since they're the more aggressive of the girls. But I think Applejack made more sense just because I had already drafted out several scenes between her and Spike in my head and I just had to type them out. On a side note it gonna start taking me a bit longer to put out new chapters for this because I need to update some of my other stories which I've been neglecting for the last few months to work on this one and as much as I enjoy writing this story I still do have to update the others so give me a few weeks to update my other stories before you start asking about the next chapter of this one.
