Chapter 14: Mark of the Spider Part 2
"Looks like my web has caught some flies like those kids heh heh heh." Roman said with a evil chuckle.
Mitch and John looked at Roman with fright.
"Anyway Yusei let's finish this duel the Netherworld is waiting for you." Roman said. "Well I plan going no where Roman." Yusei answered.
"Hmph I wouldn't be so sure if you remember when my altar has all four counters your fears will be realized." Roman said. "Well I guess I'm make sure that doesn't happen." Yusei said. I draw then and now I activate my Altar to the Bound Deity effect you see for every monster that's in defense mode during my standby phase my trap gets a Earthbound Immortal counter. Roman explained.
"Next I summon Grand Spider in defense mode." He said summon another spider creature.
Grand Spider: Defense 1500
"Oh great just what I needed, I mean is to much to ask you to summon a monster that has two legs?" Yusei mocked. "Heh heh heh heh like that actually would make a difference." Roman said with a evil chuckle.
"My move then." Yusei exclaimed drawing card. "(First things first if we get to Roman next standby with a field like this he will be able light two more torches then I'll get burned but even I can summon monster it will get switched defense due to the Spider Web field spell and I can't let that happen.)" He thought.
"In that case I activate my Road Fighters special abiity so has long it's on the field I can summon a level 2 or 1 monster from my deck." Yusei explained. "I choose Speed Warrior!"
Speed Warrior: Attack 900
"That won't be enough Yusei!" Roman exclaimed. "What?" Yusei said. "You see when Grand Spider is in Defense Mode it's special will put one of your monsters in defense so back off Speed Warrior!" Roman proclaimed.
Speed Warrior: Defense 400
"(With three monster in defense mode Roman will have enough counters to summon a Earthbound Immortal on his next turn and those poor boys will be absorb.)" Akiza thought. "This not good." Cosmo said. "Yusei can win I know he can." Miles said. "Yeah but let's hope he can finish it before Roman summon a Earthbound Immortal." Slippy said. "Hmm. "Shadow said quietly.
"Time for a different apporach I play the spell Advanced Draw now I remove my Road Fighter from my field in return I can draw two more cards which means one less torch for you." Yusei said drawing his cards. "Hmph what a waste you must be truly scared to throw away your best cards however you're only delaying your defeat." Roman said with a grin.
"Oh yeah if you think Road Fighter is my best card then wait until you get a load of Turret Warrior!" Yusei proclaimed.
Turret Warrior: Attack 1200
"He's summon to the field when I sacrifce Speed Warrior and there more you see my Speed Warrior's attack points are transferred to Turret Warrior's attack points as a bonus." Yusei explained.
Turret Warrior: Attack 2100
"(Luck for Yusei that Grand Spider's ability can't be activate this turn since it already used it on Speed Warrior.)" Akiza thought. "Whoa that Turret Warrior is big." Slippy said astonished. "Seems with an Earthbound Immortal you're stuck with your spider but let's see what we can do about that Roman!" Yusei said making a fist. "Hmph." Roman said not looking nervous.
"Go Turret Warrior attack Grand Spider!" Yusei commanded. The giant warrior fired it's cannons at Grand Spider and destroyed it. "Nice try but now my field puts your Turret Warrior in defense mode." Roman said.
Turret Warrior: Defense 2000
"Arrgh in that case I end my turn with a face down!" Yusei proclaimed. "(Well that's good I mean he destroyed that Grand Spider so Yusei was able to play himself for another round.)" Akiza said sighing in relief. "Man now Yusei can wait for another round." Miles said. "Right by destroying that Grand Spider Roman's trap card won't have enough counters to summon an Earthbound Immortal on his next turn." Slippy said. "Right." Cosmo said argeeing with her friends statement.
Shadow just stared. Nearby Trudge and Martha arrived. "Whoa check it out that Martha that purple mist looks like it goes on forever." Trudge said. "But where are the boys?" Martha asked.
They went inside a building and looked out a window. They noticed Yusei and his friends. Martha then noticed Mitch and John in the mist. "Uh oh." Trudge muttered. "My boys are trapped." Martha said looking worried. "They'll be fine once the duel is over they'll both be free." Trudge said. "No you're both wrong if Roman summons an Earthbound Immortal the boys souls will be lost so please help. Akiza called out. "Right Hey Yusei!" Martha called out. Yusei turned around at calling voice.
"Yeah up here don't even think about losing this Duel." Martha said. Yusei nodded. "Ha ha ha ha how touch but you don't have choice in the matter you tried your best to stop me but I"m afraid it's too late." Roman said with a laugh. "What?" Yusei said. "I activate the trap Offerings to the Bound Deity now when cut my life points in half I can light two more counters." Roman explained.
Roman: 1700
"Wait that means all his counters are lit up." Yusei exclaimed. "Oh no!" Akiza said. Roman's trap card then had four torches that were lit up. "Now that I have my four counters lit up I can summon Earthbound Immortal Uru!" Roman proclaimed.
The Earthbound Immortal's hearts appeared. Yusei then noticed some smoke. "Hey what's that black smoke?" Yusei asked. "Those are streams of negative energy that are needed to power up my Earthbound Immortal and now it's time I provide it with more." Roman explained raising his arms out. Yusei turned around and saw to his fear Mitch and John were being absorb.
"Oh no!" Akiza yelled. Yusei then got worried about his other friends. To his and Akiza's surprise Slippy, Cosmo, Shadow, and Miles weren't effected. "(I don't know why Yusei's other friends aren't being absorb but at least I'll have those boys.)" Roman thought. Yusei and Akiza wondered why their friends weren't absorb but their thinking was stopped by Martha's calling voice. "My boys are being absorbed!"
"(Man how can I let poor John and Mitch down it will take a miracle to save them now.)" Yusei thought feeling terrible. Suddenly out of nowhere Jack came riding. "Whoa it's Jack!" Miles exclaimed. "My boys need your help Jack!" Martha called out. "I won't my fans get sucked into shadows so I'm on my way." Jack replied. He made it through the purple barrier, drove towards the boys, got off his Duel runner, grabbed them both then his Dragon Mark glowed creating a barrier and protecting the himself and the kids.
"Wow he saved them." Martha said sighing in relief. "I guess Jack's a good guy after all." Trudge said who was relieved as well. "Jack did it." Cosmo said with smile. "Yeah but what isn't the Earthbound Immortal effecting us?" Slippy asked. "Hmm good question." Shadow muttered. "Who knows." Miles answered.
"Ha ha ha it makes no difference I still have Earthbound Immortal Uru!" Roman said. Earthbound Immortal Uru appeared who was giant spider.
Earthbound Immortal Uru: Attack 3000
Just then Leo, Luna, Mina, and Blister arrived. "Whoa check it out!" The Twins said.
"Hey Yusei how about you squash that thing so we can go home." Jack said. "Right that monster of yours is about to be done for." Yusei said with smirk. "Hmph are you sure you want to do that I mean it's family." Roman said with a grin. "What do you mean by that?" Yusei asked. "Are you telling me you don't know?" Roman asked with chuckle. "Your dad is the one that freed the shadow army!"
"What that can't be true!" Yusei yelled. "Oh but you know it's the truth Yusei you see your dad was the one that built the orginal Reactor that exploded without him none of this would be possible." Roman said. "No it can't be all he wanted to do was help!" Yusei spat. "Help his bank account you see he didn't care about safe guards or security percautions he wanted to turned the reactor on and see if would make him a millionare and I should know after all I was there with him." Roman explained. "But how?" Yusei asked. "he was my boss and I worked for him with my brother Rex Goodwin."
Yusei and his friends gasped. "This began when you were just a baby my brother and I work with your father at the orginal reactor site there were fears shouldn't have spinned in reverse a huge blast of energy would be released which what we I mean I wanted you see your father was too obessed with success to see it which allowed me to sabotage the whole project and then boom your fathers life's work was gone." Roman explained. "That means you've caused all this." Yusei answered looking angry.
"Who else hee hee hee." Roman chuckled. The gang stood with shock. "So the explosion wasn't an accident did Goodwin help you Roman was this all your brothers idea?" Yusei asked. "I wish we can stand here and chat all day but right now the netherworld is waiting for you join them. Roman said. "so Earthbound Immortal Uru attack Yusei!" Roman commanded. The Spider then fired a web at the new champion. "I'm not joining anything so I activate my trap card Iron Resolve now by cutting my life points in half I can stay for another fight Roman." Yusei said.
"Hmph I end my turn with a face down." Roman said. "Oh I must remind you the damage in this duel is real."
The attack from Uru fired at the building that Trudge and Martha were in causing it to shake and rumble. Martha nearly fell over but Trudge got a hold of her arm. "Oh thank you officer." Martha smiled. Suddenly a scream rang out. "Aaah!"
"Hey did you hear that?" Trudge asked. "It must be Taka." Martha answered. Yusei and his friends scream as went up the stairs and came to the roof. There was Taka shaking and near the edge. "Hey Martha, Trudge I'm so scared!" He cried. Martha then walked over to him. "Hey Martha get back!" Jack called out. Martha then approached the boy. "I'm sorry Martha I just wanted to help Yusei and the others." Taka said. Martha smild. "It's okay but let's go.
The building was started to tip but Taka and Martha made it. "Quick grab my hand." Trudge called out raising his arm and hand out. "Right but Taka goes first." Martha said as she handed the boy over to Trudge. Suddenly the building shook again causing Martha slide down. "Oh no Martha!" Yusei screamed. "Martha!" Taka said. "Take my hand!" The officer said. Martha tried but she couldn't make it. Martha then shook her head. "Huh?" Taka said. "No Martha you got keep trying!" Trudge called out. "No I can't make it so please you and the others look after my kids while I"m gone." Martha said sadly. "No you're going anywhere your kids need you Martha you can't give up!" Trudge said. "Come on Martha!" Yusei called out. "Yeah hold on!" Jack called out. "Oh boys it warms my heart to see you as friends again and please beat this darkness cause I"ll be waiting." Martha said as she slide down again. "Martha!" Yusei yelled. "
She fell off the building and starting vanished. The gang gasped and to their horror Martha was absorbed into Earmthbound Immortal Uru. Yusei gasped. "Noooo!" He screamed. "No it' can't be!" Slippy cried. Miles looked at the ground sadly. Shadow then let out a tear. "No poor Martha." Cosmo said with tears. "She's gone." Trudge said. "But where?" Taka asked. Trudge and Taka then slide down as the building shook. John and Mitch cried their eyes out.
"Yusei you know want to do take care of the Spider now!" Jack shouted. "He's right you still have a Shadow Duel to win." Akiza said. Yusei was silent. "Hey what are you waiting for do what Akiza says!" Trudge called out. "Arrgh you'll pay for this." Yusei said glaring at Roman. "Heh heh heh your Nanny isn't gone forever but I doubt you can save her." Roman said. "I draw and I summon Junk Synchron in attack mode!" Yusei proclaimed.
Junk Synchron: Attack 1300
"Then I'll activate it's special ability you see thanks to this card I can special summon a level 2 or below monster from my Graveyard." Yusei explained. "I choose Turbo Booster!"
Turbo Booster: Defense 0
"Then I"ll Tune my Junk Synchron with Turret Warrior to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon!" Yusei proclaimed.
Stardust Dragon: Attack 2500
"Alright now Yusei getting somewhere and so should we." Trudge said as he and Taka made their way to the door. "You're a fool like your father was why else would you put your pathetic beast up against my mighty Immortal." Trudge said with a smirk. "Roman I'm aware I can't attack Uru because of it's ability but that's not what I'm plan on doing so Stardust Dragon show him what I mean." Yusei said. Stardust Dragon flew towards Uru and went through Uru. Roman was confused.
"Defeating your monster wasn't part of my plan." Yusei said. "Huh?" Roman said. "You know why if I can't attack Uru that means I can attack one target I'm sure you can guess who that is." Yusei explained. "How dare you!" Roman growled. "Well that's for what you get for messing with my dad's work." Yusei said. "Now Stardust Dragon attack Roman directly!" He commanded. Stardust Dragon fired it's cosmic breath at Roman. "Not so fast I activate the trap Spider Egg with this trap I can stop your Dragon's attack and hatch three new spider tokens." Roman explained.
Spider Tokens: Defense 0
"I'll get you next turn so I end my turn with a face down." Yusei said. Trudge then made to the door with Taka. "Hey Yusei we're safe now." The officer called out. Yusei was glad. "You're not getting anymore spirits!"
"Ha ha ha that's fine cause I have so many." Roman said as he disappeared. In his place was Rally. "Hey Rally!" Yusei said. "What's going on?" Akiza asked. "This can't be good." Slippy said. "Why is Rally dueling?" Miles asked. "This must be Roman's plan." Shadow said. "What kind of plan do you think Roman has this time?" Cosmo asked her brother. Shadow went silent. "Oh no." Jack said.
Roman then appeared. "Miss your friend, I've freed his soul so he can duel you." Roman explained. "What I"m won't duel my friend!" Yusei shouted. "You have no choice either you attack and win or just lose in order to save your friend." Roman said with smirk. "So what' your choice win this duel or just stand and let the world down?"
"You can't do this!" Yusei screamed. "Yusei please you have no choice." Rally replied. "No I can't duel you!" Yusei answered. "Please you have to, you and others are our only hope left plus he took everyone of our friends." Rally said. "You coward!" Yusei spat. "I draw." Rally said drawing his card. "I"m sorry Yusei I activate Uru ability by sending monster from my side to graveyard and I can gain control one of your mosnters so I choose Turbo Booster."
"Then I summon Turbo Rocket." Rally proclaimed.
Turbo Rocket: Attack 0
Yusei then figured out what Rally was going to do. "No Rally please attack me."
"No I can't." Rally said. "I tune Turbo Rocket with your monster Turbo Booster in order to Synchro Summon Turbo Booster Cannon!"
"(That monster has one special ability.)" Akiza thought. "I know what's going happen." Shadow said. "What's Rally going to do?" Miles asked. "He's going to destroy Uru." Shadow answered. "What?" Cosmo said.
"Oh no!" Yusei yelled. "I activate my Cannon's ability I can destroy any monster I choose then the owner of that monster takes damage to it's attack points." Rally explained. "Yusei if you think I'm going to destroy your Stardust Dragon then you're wrong."
"What?" The Former champion said. "I destroy Earthbound Immortal Uru!" Rally proclaimed. "Find a new pawn Roman!"
The Turbo Booster Cannon monster fired it's cannon's at Uru and destroyed causing Rally to fall to the ground.
Rally: 0
Yusei ran over to his friend. "Yusei good bye and I'll be waiting with others." Rally said with smile as he disappeared. "Rally!" Yusei screamed. The gang then came over to their friend. "Well I wasn't expecting that outcome hmph no wonder the human race is going exctinct no one is selfish anymore." Roman said. Then more Dark Signers arrived. Miles noticed Misty. He began to shake with anger. Cosmo and Shadow noticed this.
"Now be kind they do lose some friends to the shadows." Man said. "Where are Martha and Rally!" Jack asked. "Your pals are with us and all others from this trash town." Kalin said. Then he looked at Yusei. "Well Yusei do you want to stop us or are you scared ha ha ha ha."
"Yeah I"m scared, scared about what I'm going to do to you Kalin and far as I'm considered your Dark Decks are about to be destroyed for good!" Yusei said with angry face.
