Chapter 16: A Whale of a Ride Part 1
"Aaaah! Devak screamed.
Devak: 0
The dark Symbol of the Monkey then disappeared. "You did it Luna!" Leo cheered. "No we both did it now the..." Luna stopped as soon as she noticed Devak was struggling and moving towards them both. Leo stepped in front of Luna.
"I won't..fall..alone." He said breathing heavily.
"We got to get down there now!" Yusei said as he and the others ran down. Yusei tripped over a steel beam but Shadow got a hold of the twins and then Devak vanished.
Back the Spirit World Torunka saw his Spirit friends have returned. "She did it, the human child saved the Spirit World and now she must continue her task to save her own world." He announced.
Yuesi and his friends saw the sun rise. "Hey Luna are you feeling alright?" Trudge asked. The female twin nodded. Yusei put his hand on Leo's shoulder. "Leo you were really great in your duel against Devak."
"Hey you did wonderful." Cosmo said winking. "Great job kid." Shadow said giving a thumbs up. Leo started to cry with joy. "Oh Leo." Luna said.
She then noticed Ancient Fairy Dragon and Regulus. "Hey where did those things come from, is there a laser light show going on?" Trudge asked.
"No officer Trudge we're not illusions we are real." The Fairy Dragon answered. "Whoa did that thing just talk back to me?" Trudge asked as he fell backwards and fainted. "Grown ups are so weird." Leo said.
"Luna I'll have you know that all Spirits have returned home safely." The Fairy Dragon said. "Has everything stopped going in reverse too?" Luna asked.
"Yes all thanks to you." Fairy Dragon said smiling. "Actually it wasn't just me I couldn't have done it without Leo's help and my other friends Yusei, Cosmo, Shadow, and Trudge stood by my brother's side the whole time," Luna said smiling at her friends which they smiled back except Trudge who was still laying on the ground.
"I see then I thank your friends for their support," Fairy Dragon said. "Our fight with the Dark Signers isn't over, so can you both help us?" Yusei asked.
"The Dark Signers are like a disease if they're not defeated their power will grow back and the Spirit World will be once again in danger so I'll help you fight even if it destroys me." Fairy Dragon said.
"I too will fight along your side until the end of time." Regulus said as he and Ancient Fairy Dragon turned into cards. Luna then took Ancient Fairy Dragon and put her card into the control unit which activated the control tower. They ran out of the control tower and it went underground.
They went on their way to the next tower where Yusei was going to meet Kalin.
Meanwhile at the Dark Signer's hideout Roman saw one of his candles flames blew away. "Hmm it would seem Devak has failed us but no matter when one falls another awakens so I'll pay a visit to our prisoner." He said taking his candle.
A short time later Roman brought Greiger the gate where netherworlds lays. "Why have you brought me here?" Greiger asked. "Well Greiger I'm going to turn you into a Dark Signer." Roman replied. "Just what is that?" Greiger asked.
"Tell me something Greiger now that you had sometime have you forgiving Goodwin for what he did to your village?" The Dark Signer Leader asked. Greiger started to shake with anger. "No way I was angry as I was at that Tournament and maybe more so."
He remembered that he almost got his chance to hurt Goodwin but Yusei stopped him. "Argh I'll never forgive for what he did." He growled. "That's reason you must become a Dark Signer so embrace your anger cause you're going to need it." Roman said as spot where Greiger standing opened a hole and he fell into the gate way to the netherworld.
"Your life is now over Greiger, the power of the Netherworld will consume the person you once were, you'll be wanting revenge, you will lose yourself and become your anger, this will give you the power to destroy Goodwin and his precious Crimson Dragon, now the path of vengeance begins when the one who first stood in your way when you had the chance to hurt Goodwin, for your brother, sister and your entire village taking away from you by the Crimson Dragon, therefore you must finish what you've started and you must find Yusei then defeat him." Roman chanted.
"Now Greiger I give you a new life as a Dark Signer!"
Greiger's eyes opened and his eyes became black.
A short time later Greiger was riding on his Duel Runner and making his way to find Yusei.
Meanwhile somewhere in the Satellite Crow came out of a old refrigerator. "Oh man how did I end up here?" He asked rubbing his head. He remember he was dueling Lazar and then he left after a strange quake from the Dark Signers occurred. Then he also remembered that a strange fog covered the Satellite. "Aw man I can't catch a break first there was clowns now it's clouds!" He yelled.
He drove away on his Duel Runner and then remembered the orphans he was looking after. "Oh no I better check on the kids!" He said.
He made it to his hideout. "Hey anyone here, come on is anyone here?" He called out. "Hey Crow we're all over here!" A kid called out. The kids ran over to Crow and hug him. Crow was relieved but suddenly they all vanished leaving Crow shocked. "No it can't be." He said. Then he looked around again but he then realized that the kids were really taking away. "Noooooo!" He screamed.
Later he turned around saw the Mark of the Giant. "Argh the Dark Signers are going to pay for this!" He said as he drove away on his Duel Runner.
Yusei and his friend were making their way to see Kalin. Crow then bumped into Greiger. "Hey get out of my way!" Greiger yelled. Crow looked at the man and recognized him. "Hey I know who you are, you're that Greiger guy that nearly killed Goodwin."
"Hang on you're a Dark Signer, what do you want?" He asked. "For your information I'm looking for Yusei, so where is he?" Greiger asked.
"I don't know but if you want duel him then you're going to have to go through me." Crow said. "You're challenging me get real you're not a Signer so you're not a worthy opponent." Greiger said. "Look all that matters that you're a Dark Signer so that means you're going to pay for what you did," Crow said in a serious voice. "What do you mean?" The Dark Greiger asked. "Don't play dumb with your freaky dark fog has taking not only the people but it also took away the orphans I was taking care of." Crow said. "Look I'm going to stop you for what you did."
"Heh you speak to me of vengeance but I'm on my own path of revenge and it doesn't involve you my fight is with Goodwin but first I'm going deal with Yusei Fudo!" Greiger yelled. "So are you going to move a side?
"No if you're going to duel Yusei then you're going to have to get through me." Crow said. "Hmph you're not worthy opponent cause not a Signer so get out of my way!" Greiger yelled getting mad. "You know I had feeling you Dark Signers wouldn't accept my challenge so I got something here." Crow said taking a strange device and putting on his Duel Runner. "This I have is electric magnetic pulse charge when this goes off that Duel Runner of your is history and if you think you can get away then you haven't seen me ride." Crow said with smirk.
"Ha well that's bold move since you're so termed to destroy yourself I guess I'll accept your challenge and perhaps by dueling you I can lure Yusei here." Greiger said.
They went to deserted area. "Well you Dark Signers took everything I had so I'm already in a point of no return." Crow said. 'Oh one more thing let's make this for real no auto pilot no restrictions."
"(I've got protect myself cause if Greiger manages to summon one of those Earthbound Immortals I'll end up eating the dirt like Yusei did.)" He thought.
"You ready to Turbo Duel?" Crow asked. "I'll let my Speed World answer that." Greiger said. "Duel mode engaged auto pilot deactivated." The Duel Runner voice said.
The Whale Mark appeared in the same location where Yusei and his friends were driving in. "Whoa is that a Whale?" Leo asked. "I don't remember Mina mentioning anyone with a Whale mark," Trudge said. "That's because there isn't one unless our enemies manage to turn someone new into Dark Signer," Shadow said.
Luna looked at her mark but it wasn't glowing. "Guys something isn't right here my mark isn't glowing."
"Does that mean whoever dueling isn't Dark Signer, right?" Leo asked. "Let's go find out." Yusei said. They drove to away to find whoever was dueling.
"since we're free styling this Turbo Duel the first duelist to get to the first corner gets to make the first movie, so are you ready?" Crow asked. "I was born ready, so how should we count down?" Greiger asked. Crow took his device and threw on the ground as Greiger gasped.
"Hey don't worry it's just my alarm for my bedroom, so when that clock counts zero we ride off." The bird duelist said. "Ha you had me going there." Greiger grinned.
"I'll have you going second when I get the first turn."Crow thought. The clock soon counted to zero and they drove off.
"Let's duel!" They exclaimed.
Crow: 4000
Greiger: 4000
Crow noticed that Grieger's Runner was fast. "(Hmm his Duel Runner has more horse power than mine but I've got to remember it's how fast you drive it's how skill fully you arrive.") He thought. He pressed his Runner pedal and started to catch up. "Please you think you can beat me to that first corner, so let me show what speed is." Greiger said. The muscular black man started to catch up as well.
"You call that fast?" Crow asked. They were both nearly to the corner. "I got you beat Crow." Greiger said. "Think again." Crow said as he pressed his Runner's pedal and drove off fast. "You wanted me to the first curve, didn't you?" Grieger asked.
"Of course I did with a frame like that taking a curve with that speed I knew you would slide and leave an opening for me my runner is small but it let's me zig and you zag." Crow explained.
"So I draw and from my hand I summon Blackwing Shura the Blue Flame.
Blackwing Shura the Blue Flame: Attack 1800
"then I place one card down therefore I end my turn." Crow said.
"It's my move then I draw!" Greiger proclaimed. He looked at the card he drew and grinned. "First I summon Trap Reactor Y Fi in Attack mode.
Trap Reactor Y FI: Attack 800
"Next I activate my Diving Exploder special ability you see by sending to the graveyard I switch both our monters attack and defense points." Greiger explained.
"Uh oh." Crow said. "I told you that there's no way you can beat a Dark Signer." Greiger said.
The Diving Exploder dropped it's bomb on their monsters.
Blackwing Shura the Blue Flame: 1200
Trap Reactor Y Fi: 1800
"Now Trap Reactor attack Crow's Shura the Blue Flame!" Greiger commanded. The machine monster fired it's cannon's attack the bird monster and destroyed it.
Crow: 3400
"Off to a bad start." Crow said as his Duel Runner hit a rock and went flying. Crow then remembered the kids and he opened his eyes.
Yusei and the others were getting close. "Let's go faster you guys."
"(Whoever dueling that Dark Signer has no idea what the amount of danger they're getting into.)" He thought.
They arrived where the duel is but couldn't see anyone. "Hey Cosmo and Shadow I want you two come with me." Yusei said. "Hey what about us?" Trudge said. "Trudge you keep an eye out on Leo and Luna," Shadow said. "Be careful you guys." Luna said.
Yusei, Cosmo, and Shadow drove off the bridge and made it on the lower ground. "(Time to see who's throwing down.)" Yusei thought.
Crow was still flying in the air but again he remembered the kids so he pressed a button, then a hook shot out on a bridge and then Crow's runner's wing was spread out and then he was safe back on the ground.
"(Not bad but if Crow's has any brains he'd use those wings to fly away): Greiger thought. "Hope your flight wasn't too scary but then again why wouldn't since you're a better pilot than duelist too bad those skills won't be counter my next attack so now I place one card face down and end my turn."
Trap Reactor Y FI: 800
"(I hope he's wrong cause it sounds like Yusei wasn't kidding about these duels.)" Crow thought.
Flashback
"Crow this isn't just another duel if you duel these Dark Signers you play for keeps and I'm not talking about your Card Deck." Yusei said.
"(Well it's time I play for keeps too the Dark Signers took the kids away from me and now they're going to pay for their misdeeds.)" Crow thought.
"Now I draw first I activate the Speed Spell Angel Baton now that I got at least two speed counters I can draw two more cards."
"I discard my one card to summon Blackwing Mistral the Silver Shield in Defense mode.
Blackwing Mistral the Silver Shield: Defense 1800
"Since I've got another Blackwing on my field and I special summon Blackwing Bora the Spear!" Crow exclaimed.
Blackwing Bora the Spear: Attack 1700
"Bring it on I'll bring those birds down." Greiger said. "Not if I end this Shadow Duel now Blackwing Bora attack his Trap Reactor!" Crow commanded.
The Blackwing Bora charged with it's spear right at Trap Reactor.
The attack caused an explosion which knocked some rumble from the nearby old buildings which fell on Greiger. "See ya." Crow said.
Greiger wasn't hurt and his Duel Runner wasn't damaged either.
Greiger: 3100
"Hey how come you lose a only few of your life points?" Crow asked. He also realized that Trap Reactor was still flying. "if you're wondering why my monster is still flying here's why I trigged the trap Fake Explosion so not only is my Trap Reactor flying sky high but I get to summon another so come forth Summon Reactor SK!" Greiger said.
Summon Reactor SK: Attack 2000
"(Way to go Crow not only you manage give Greiger the ability to summon another monster you're one attack a way to get sent to the netherworld and I know he's holding on to Spell Reactor RE then when those monsters are all on the field he'll be able to summon Flying Fortress Sky Fire that bad monster almost took Yusei out in the Tournament.)" He thought.
Yusei and his friends continue their search. Then a thought occurred to Yusei. "(I have a feeling that this Duel is a Turbo Duel.)
He was right of course up ahead was Crow and Greiger. "Hey Yusei is here!" Crow exclaimed. "Yeah but he won't be for long." Greiger said.
Crow then noticed Shadow and Cosmo. "Well it's you two long time no see," He said. "I'm glad you're alright Crow," Cosmo said. Yusei then noticed Crow's opponent was Greiger the Duelist that tried to hurt Goodwin. "Hey Greiger are you a..? He began to ask. "Yes this was the only way to get revenge on what Goodwin did to me, he destroyed my family and if joining the Dark Signers is the way to make sure that man pays then so be it!" He yelled. "Crow do you remember what I said about these Shadow Duels?" Yusei asked.
"I know what you're thinking and I'm not going to turn away cause those kids I was looking after were taking away from me." Crow said. Yusei was confused but then remembered the kids back in Crow's hideout. "Look Crow I think you should let Yusei take your place." Cosmo said.
"You and others can't talk me out of this cause you all don't the truth about me." Crow said.
flashback scene.
"I was orphan therefore I didn't have to do chores or go to sleep early now I know living a world without rules maybe fun but here in the Satellite was dangerous." Crow explained. "I learned the only person I can depend was me and the world can be a lonely with your shadow as your company and then I figured if I built a card Deck and win a few duels I can score my way out of the Satellite." Crow said.
"Then sometime later I met some boys that were taller than me at first I thought they were going to take my cards I found." Crow said.
"Hey are you Duelist?" A boy asked. "I want to be someday." Crow replied nervously. The boys smiled. "That's cool we're all learning to throw down too." A boy with brown spike haired. "Then those boys gave me the name Crow and as time passed I found kids that were like me ones that didn't have family or a home." Crow said. "Then I met you, Cosmo, Miles, Jack, and Kalin you were like my family."
End of flashback.
"Now the kids that I was looking after are gone and what does Greiger do he goes up and joins the Dark Signers." Crow said and he turned around. "Now Greiger since you're a Dark Signer you're about to get punished!"
"Are you done with your story cause now I'm about send you to the Netherworld!" Greiger said. "Hey knock it off!" Yusei yelled. "Yeah Crow you both are on the same side you both lost your families so you should be working together to get back what matters most," Cosmo said.
"Look Greiger you told me that Goodwin was the one that took your family away but now you joining the Dark Signers is not right." Yusei said.
"Don't you see that's why I'm dueling him Greiger has to be stopped." Crow spat. "Not like this Crow this Duel is all about revenge so that makes you bad person that him." Yusei said. Crow growled at that remark. "Argh you don't know what you're talking about this my duel Yusei so stay out of it!" Crow yelled as he wiped tears from his eyes.
"Crow." Cosmo said sadly. "(He's blinded by vengeance.)" Shadow thought. "Very well then but remember this hate won't bring your friends back." Yusei said with serious tone. Crow just ignored.
"I draw!." Greiger said.
'Now I summon Spell Reactor RE from my hand."
Spell Reactor RE: Attack 1200
"Now I activated my Summon Reactor's ability so by sending it, Spell Reactor, and Trap Reactor to the graveyard I can summon my favorite monster." Greiger said.
"Uh oh that monster almost took me out." Yusei said. "I see you remember how you came close to losing to Flying Fortress Sky Fire." Greiger said as he played his card.
Flying Fortress Sky Fire: Attack 3000
"I can be assure that your friend Crow won't be so lucky."
"I activate my Sky Fire's special ability by sending a card from my hand to graveyard I can destroy one of your cards on your side of the field." Greiger explained.
"Uh oh." Crow muttered. "So I destroy your Silver Wing Shield." Greiger said. The Fortress monster then fired it's cannons the shield bird and destroyed it.
"Now your Blackwing Spear is next and now Fortress Sky Fire attack!" The black Duelist commanded. Sky Fire launched missiles at Crow's last monster and blew it away.
"I activate my Silver Wing Shield's effect when it's destroyed I can no damage." Crow explained. "Not bad Crow but which one of your little birds is going to save you now?" Greiger asked.
"(I wished I knew that myself his Sky Fire looks unstoppable not only can it destroy one of my cards but if I can a direct hit from that metal monster it's going to be bye bye Black Bird.)" Crow thought. "I draw."
He looked at the card he drew it was Blackwing Gale the Whirlwind. "(Not exactly what I was hoping for but maybe my Card Deck is trying to tell me something since I can't stop Sky Fire's ability maybe I should roll with it and as much as I hate to lose a monster that maybe a way to save me.)" He thought.
"I play this Monster in Defense mode Blackwing Vayu the Emblem of Honor!" Crow proclaimed.
Blackwing Vayu the Emblem of Honor: Defense 0
"What a waste I was hoping to destroy something valuable your Blackwing Vayu is not threaten but I'll destroy anyway." Greiger said.
Blackwing Vayu was blown to bits causing shock waves and then making Crow's Runner to fly away. "Oh no!" Cosmo screamed. Crow then pressed on button on his Runner left handle and turned a switch which was able to get him back on the road safely."
Crow: 2600
"That was a close one." Crow said. "(If Greiger's monster gets too close I have feeling Crow won't be around for a victory lap.)" Yusei thought.
"Hey Crow your field is empty now." Greiger said. "True but I have plan that will destroy your Sky Fire." Crow said. Greiger was puzzled. "I activate my Vayu's ability so by removing my Vayu and another Blackwing from the game I'm allowed to Synchro Summon." Crow explained. "But your monsters are in the graveyard." Greiger said.
"Then consider this a message from the Great beyond." Crow said.
"I Synchro Summon Blackwing Armor Master!"
Blackwing Armor Master: Attack 2500
"Now as a bonus I can summon another Blackwing since there's one on my field. "This one is Blackwing Gale the Whirlwind!" Crow proclaimed.
Blackwing Gale the Whirlwind: Attack 1300
"So what from the I'm looking at your Monster's attack points I say your strategy is for the birds." Greiger said.
"Now Armor Master attack Greiger's Sky Fire!" Crow commanded. "Why are you attacking, Sky Fire it has more attack points?" Greiger said.
"True but my monster leaves a Wedge counter which decreases your Sky Fire's attack and defense points to zero." Crow explained.
Flying Fortress Sky Fire Attack 0 and Defense 0
"Now Gale the Whirlwind take out Sky Fire!" Crow commanded.
Greiger lost control and bumped into wall. "Hey Yusei you, Cosmo, and Shadow were right I'm no better than a Dark Signer if I duel with hate in my heart." Crow said smiling. "I'm glad you're back to your old self again." Cosmo said. Then they turned around and saw Greiger riding towards them. "Wow talk about counting your chickens before they hatch." Crow said.
"Hey you scratched my Runner Crow now you're going to pay for that!" Greiger shouted.
Greiger: 1800
"Well you got to catch me first and since you lose a speed for every 1000 points you lose it's looks that won't happen." Crow said. "So for now I'll end my turn with face down card."
"I draw then and since I have no monsters on my side I can special summon Dark Tuner Submarine."
Dark Tuner Submarine: Attack 0 Level 9
"Nice move but it's looks like your Submarine's attack points got deep sixed." Crow joked. "My creature won't be alone for long cause I summon Dark Sea Rescue in attack mode!" Greiger proclaimed.
Dark Sea Rescue: Attack 0 Level 1
"Now I Dark Tune my Submarine with my Dark Sea Rescue in order to Dark Synchro Summon Dark Flat Top!"
"When the Shadow's are devoured by even darker shadows the curtain pulls back a reveals a world without light." Greiger said.
Dark Flat Top: Defense 3000
"Crow be careful!" Cosmo called out. "I have feeling that monster will be a big problem." Shadow whispered. "
"Well this duel is starting to get more interesting." Crow said grinning.
