Chapter 23: Destiny's Will Part 1
At the Dark Signers' Lair.
Roman noticed that another candelight went extinguished. "How disappointed Kalin has failed us.
He then looked at his arm which is bruised. "I can't stop here."
He walked over to a table and on it was a picture of his brother Rex and Mr. Fudo."(I have a score to settle with Mr Fudo's son Yusei.)" He thought.
meanwhile Yusei's duel against Kalin was over after that he went into the Control Unit and put Stardust Dragon in there. After that was done the giant tower sunk into the ground.
Yusei drove the bridge where his friends were watching as he drove to them they waved and greeted him.
"Hey Yusei look over there." Crow said pointing down where his Dueled Kalin. Yusei looked at the direction where Crow was pointing. A light appeared and half of the citizens of Satellite returned.
"It would seem you were right Yusei." Shadow said making a small smile. "Right we defeat the Dark Signers everyone that was absorbed into the Shadows will return." Yusei said.
"That means there's still hope for the others." Leo said excited. "You bet." Luna said.
"Right but we can't take victory lap yet we still need to go and defeat other Dark Signers that Jack and Akiza went to." Yusei said. "There's Roman as well too."
Then a tiny spider got on Trudge's back which caused him to jump up and down. "Hey what's with Trudge?" Crow asked.
Yusei then noticed at Spider Mark on Trudge's right arm. "Everyone get back!"
The gang did went over to Yusei. "Hey what's going on?" Crow asked. "Uh Trudge.." Yusei began say. "Trudge isn't here now." Trudge said but it was Roman's voice. "Roma I should've know it was you."
"I think it's time you and I faced each other so come to the Original Ener-D Reactor that is if you're up to it." Roman said. "It might be trap." Crow said. "I know but the sooner I defeat Roman's Immortal the sooner then Martha, Rally, and others will be safe." Yusei said.
"You sure?" Trudge asked. "I've never been so sure in my life so it's time to settle things with Roman." Yusei replied.
Meanwhile in New Domino City Angela was making a report on the main street of the West 5th District in which the City was under Martial laws.
Lazar watched this report on screen and then he turned it off. "This is becoming annoying there's people out wanting answers." He said as he walked to a wall which opened to a secret room.
As he went in a screen went on and on it was unidenified person. "Has Rex Goodwin left yet?" He asked. "Indeed he's on his way."
"It's about time we've been impatien with Rex and his brother." The person said. "Calm down my friend you waited for 20 years, what's a few hours more?" Lazar replied laughing.
Rex rode to the giant crater with two helicopters and he gets out of one of them. He touches a remote control and a tunnel opened.
"Captain I want you and the rest of the guards to stay here I'll take it from here." Rex ordered. "Sorry sir but the New Domino City is currently going through a bizzare Phenomeon so we can't let you alone." The captin said.
"Very well then but those weapons aren't going to be little use to where I'm going." Rex replied.
Rex, Captain, and the rest of the securities entered the tunnel and began to search in the underground level.
Then they came to a room where Roman was sitting. "I figured you come here, so what did you bring these specimens here?" The Dark Signer Leader asked. "These Specimens are my escort Roman" Rex replied. "I see but we're in a important discussion so your soliders will have to go." Roman said as his glowed purple. Captain looked up at and saw a spider. "Fire soliders!"
They did but the weapons bullets didn't lay a scratch and then the soliders were webbed up.
"That's more like it and I have to confess I thought that you'd forgot the promise you made." Roman said as he got up from his chair. "I never forgot my promise I've been living for the promise everyday, I've done that you'd ask me to do, I've stayed contact with Yliaster, I watched the stars, I brought the Signers together, and I'm the reason we're standing here." Rex replied.
"Be careful what you speak let's not forget that we're merilly pawns in the game that we never know."Roma said.
Roman took of his cape. "I opened the Pandora's Box cause I had the courage 17 years ago and putting my faith in destiny."
"I trusted you with the key to earth's surival, we must hurry the netherworld is calling out to me, and my time here fleeing."
"I opened the gate to the Netherworld then the king will appear but the Signers will try to close the gate and stop destiny but so be it we'll just have to respect fate's will."
"Perhaps you're right but I've been thinking on what we've been trying to a acomplished and I've realized something that there's another possible outcome that one we've never considered." Roman said.
"There's many possible outcomes little brother." Roman said. "I suppose you're right but let's not waste anymore time let's find out what's fate has in store." Rex said as he activate his duel disk.
meanwhile Yusei and his friends arrived at the old reactor and then they came the crater. "Yikes!" Leo said. "You all with me?" Yusei asked. His friends nodded.
They began to walk downstairs when they Crow, Shadow, and Cosmo heard a shout. They both went over the shout. "Crow look down there." Cosmo said pointing. Crow saw two public Security helicopters.
"What is Public Security doing here?" He asked. Cosmo then noticed a building which was the same one that Rex went into with a few soliders.
Crow pressed on the remote and entranc door opened. "Let's go." Crow said. "Right." Cosmo said. "I never back down." Shadow said grinning.
Yusei and the others continued to their search and came to the bridge. "There you are." A voice said. It was Roman who walking on the other side of the bridge. "It's Roman." Leo said. "Stay back." Yusei said as he friends stopped.
"Glad you could make I was wondering if you would be torn up after what you did to your friend." Roman said. "What I did, that was your fault you got into his head and messed him!" Yusei yelled angerily. "Come now there's no need to get worked up I never said it was your fault we all did what destiny wanted us to do we're just pawns so no one to blame you.
"You see you and Kalin were meant to befriend each other and then turn against each other and finally you were meant to destroy him just as I was meant to destroy your father." Roman explained. "My father." Yusei said with shock.
Roman then pulled out a switch from his Duel Disk and then explosion occurs. Then under the bridge was filled with Ener-D. "What is this?" Yusei asked. "Can't you feel it 20 years ago your father and I found this gateway to leading somewhere that was incredible that we ever imagined on the other side of that light lays a power and when it comes out it will consume everything in this world." Roman explained. "Don't you care how many people were taking away and people you hurt?" Yusei asked.
"Well I'm not going to let you do more of this I'm going to make you pay for all the damage you've done!" Yusei shouted. "In the face of possibilities there changes that must occur." Roman said. "You don't get it." Yusei yelled again. "Well you don't get it we're just a means to an end we're not important, we're just disposiable cards in machine our lives mean nothing." Roma explained.
"Look at this beauiful light this light is alive and it's part of a chain reaction that took professor Fudo away and then a greater destiny will find me as well." Roman said. "Well I got bad news for you the craziness stops here!" Yusei said.
"I'll send you away to the netherworld just like I did to your father." Roman said.
Yusei and Roman activated their duel disks.
Yusei: 4000
Roman: 4000
"Duel!" They proclaimed.
"The First move is mine I draw." Roman said. "I place one card face down and end my turn."
"I draw then." Yusei said. "I activate my Quickdraw Synchron's ability I can special Summon it by sending one Monster card my hand to the graveyard and the card I'm sending is Level Eater." Yusei explained.
Quickdraw Synchron: Attack 700
"I activate my Level Eater Special ability first I lower my Quickdraw Synchron's level by one and then I can bring back Level Eater."
Level Eater: Attack 600
"Next Quickdraw Synchron can take aim and used in place for a Tuner monster that has the name Synchron."
"Now I tune my Quickdraw Synchron with my Level Eater in order to Synchro Summon Junk Warrior!" Yusei proclaimed.
Junk Warrior: Attack 2300
"Now attack Roman directly Scarp Iron Fist attack." Yusei commanded.
Roman blocked Junk Warrior's attack with his duel disk and caused him to slide back.
Roman: 1700
"Alright he scored the first major attack!" Leo said.
"Because of that I can activate the trap Wolf in Sheep's clothing since I was hit by direct attack from your Junk Warrior to summon two Spider monsters for the price of one." Roman explained.
Two Dark Spiders: Attack 0
"That was the basic maneuver move Roman so I'll end my turn with one face down." Yusei said. "Ha those Dark Spiders don't have any attack points this guy has no idea what he's doing." Leo said. "That's one of your weakness points Leo you get cocky Roman must be planning to make a comeback." Luna said with a worried look.
Leo realized what his sister was saying now which made him worry too. "She's right Leo these Dark Signers have a way turning the duel around now matter what's going on." Trudge said. "He brought out those two monsters so he can release them which mean.."
"Uh oh I can feel it!" Luna said which got Trudge and Leo to look at her. "You guys what ever happens don't leave my side."
"What do you mean you're freaking me out." Leo said in frighten voice.
"Now I draw and from my hand I activate The Spider Web Field Spell." Roman said. "Here we go." Yusei said. The room then was cover in a giant web.
"Now I release my two Dark Spider to summon my Earthbound Immortal Uru!" Roman exclaimed.
Earthbound Immortal Uru: Attack 3000
Luna's Dragon mark then created a shield that protect her, Leo and Trudge.
"Thanks to my Spider Web field spell Uru has the ability to attack you directly." Roman explained. "Now go Uru unleash your web of destruction and attack Yusei!"
Uru launched it's web at the Signer.
"I activate my trap Synchro Barrier!" Yusei proclaimed. Junk disappeared and turned into a barrier which blocked Uru's web.
"How?" Roman asked. "It was simple all I need to do is sacrifice Junk Warrior in order to block your monsters attack." Yusei explained.
"Heh heh you're only delaying the inevitable so I'll place two card face down but before I end my turn I activate the Continuous Spell Destiny Activator." Roman said.
"Now for this point forward each turn all I need to do is draw the top card on my deck and send it to the graveyard if it's the same type of card I send to my graveyard then your life points are cut in half." The Dark Signer Leader explained.
"Arrgh." Yusei growled.
'The card I send to the graveyard is monster card so if you draw a monster card during your draw phase then your life points will be cut in half so hope that your card isn't monster card." Roman said.
"I draw then." Yusei said looking at the card he drew. It was trap Shooting Star.
"Heh heh it's a trap looks like Destiny is toying with you." Roman said. Leo sighed in relief. "That's good but he can't relax now he's got to beat Roman's Immortal or it's over." Trudge said.
"I summon Speed Warrior in attack mode!" Yusei proclaimed.
Speed Warrior: Attack 900
"(My warriors never let me down but it's no match for Earthbound Immortal Uru though Roman's life points are a different story.)"Yusei thought.
"I activate my Speed Warrior's ability when he's summoned his attack points are double."
Speed Warrior: Attack 1800
"Now Speed Warrior attack Roman directly!" Yusei commanded. "Yeah if his attacks goes through then we're all going home." Trudge said.
"No ones going anywhere!" Roman said. "I activate the trap Roar of the Earthbound with this card your monster destroyed and deals damage to half of your monsters attack points."
Speed Warrior was destroyed.
Yusei: 3100
"I place one card face down and end my turn." Yusei said.
"I draw then." Roman said. "How many attacks from Uru can you avoid?"
"Well let's find out now Uru attack Yusei directly!" He commanded.
"Not so fast I activate the trap Spirit Force thanks to this trap I can avoid taken battle damage and bring back monster with monster whose attack points with 1500 attack points or lower from my graveyard to my hand." Yusei explained.
"Sorry but you won't be doing any of those things." Roman said. "Huh?" Yusei said.
"I activate the Counter Trap Earthbound Wave which negates your trap and destroys it." Roman explained. Uru's web then hit Yusei really hard causing his friends to gasped.
Yusei: 100
"Stand up and so I can send you to the light just like I did to your father." Roman said.
Roman laughed evilly.
