Chapter 24: Destiny's Will Part 2
Crow, Cosmo, and Shadow were still investigating the undersground tunnel. Soon they came to a room and went inside.
"Hmm this seems like the control room." Crow said. "Seems so." Shadow said. Cosmo then looked down and saw a old photograph.
She picked it up and gasped at what was on the picture. "What is it?" Crow asked. "This guy looks like Yusei." She said. Crow observed the man on the picture. "(That guy must be Dr Fudo.)" He thought.
meanwhile at the duel between Yusei and Roman.
"What are you waiting for?" The Dark Signer said chuckling. "Are you scared, well I would be too if my next draw would be depending what card I drew."
"Well I'm not scared." Yusei said drawing his card and showed it to Roman.
His card was monster card. "Heh heh heh well you should be cause my Trap card Destiny Activator is still in play and since you drew a monster card you lose half your life points." Roman said.
Yusei: 50
"He's barely holding on." Trudge said.
Yusei was struggling a bit. "Destiny has you in its grasp its crushing you." Roman said with evil grin.
"You don't think he'll give do you Luna," Leo asked his twin. Luna was quiet. "This duel is over." Roman exclaimed. "It's not over till the last card is played." Yusei said.
"That's right!" Leo said. "You tell him!" Luna added. "Get him!" Trudge said. "I summon Zero Gardna in defense mode." Yusei said.
Zero Gardna: Defense 0
"I place one card face down and end my turn." Yusei said.
"Interesting you have the will to fight go on I suppose you heirtage that stubborness from your father." Roman said.
"How it must feel that after 17 years the Signer and son of Dr Fudo came here to stop me and you think that Destiny is not in control." Roman said.
"The only Destiny is the one we make Roman." Yusei said. "Strong words Yusei especially for someone who is hanging by a thread but you're up against a force like none other you've ever comperhanded a foce awaken by your father." Roman said.
"It's time you learn the truth about the force your dad awoke you see 20 years ago during an experiment your father dicovered the planetary Particle." Roman said.
"Planetary Particles?" Luna said in confusing tone.
"What are those?" Leo asked.
flashback scene.
"Let me explain this so you'll undestand these Particles are like Planetary gears that binds particles together and that's kind of like how the Crimson Dragon's mark united you and your little friends a Planetary Particle brings other particles together." Roman explained.
"Your father's team began to conduct an experiments by using the Planetary particles to built and manipulate a greater manquilter sturctures which lead the discovery of Ener-D and creation of the Ener-D Reactor." Roman continued.
"Rex and I joined his team as researcher assitants and everyone was excited of the possibillties that Reactor was presenting especially your father he couldn't contain his enthusiasm." Roman explained.
"My friends it's working and this is the key." Dr Fudo said as he looked back at Reactor. "The work was going well until that faithful day.." Roman said.
flashback continues.
"We were working late in the evening." Roman began explain again.
Dr Fudo and his team were working until they felt a tremor. "That doesn't sound good." Dr Fudo said in worried tone. They noticed strange readings on the computer screen. "Those readings can't be right, can they?" Rex asked his Teammates. "There's nothing wrong with equipment everthing working." Roman said.
"We couldn't what the problem was but we only knew the Reactor seemed to be creating a strange and manificent power which science couldn't divine and everytime we conducted the work some unusual weather struck on New Domino City." Roman explained again.
Then Dr Fudo then began to talk to his team. "Are you serious Professor you're shutting the Reactor down?" Roman asked shocked. "I have no choice we can pin point the conntection of this strange abormalities so we.." Dr Fudo was interrupted by Rex.
"That's why we must press on." He said. "It's why we must stop this we can't risk of putting the people and world in danger." Dr Fudo said.
Roman wasnt happy hearing this from Dr Fudo.
"I decided to investigate the every piece of data in the world and I found out that these unusual disasters were occurring in other places at the same time." Roman explained again.
"So I went to the Nazca Lines."
Roman drove into a desert and stopped for a rest. "I learned that Gods 5000 years ago there was battle in the Naca Lines."
"The Evil beings were sealed inside the Nazca Geoglyphs after the battle with the Crimson Dragon for Supremancy of the world I was so curious to see these lines and there I met a man from Yliaster."Roman said.
Flashback cuts
"Yliaster?" Yusei said wondering what that was.
flashback continues.
"I heard about Reactor shame that Dr Fudo shut it down." The man said. "Wait how do you know about me and Reactor?" Roman asked. "The research must continue even if it means getting rid of Professor Fudo." The man replied simply.
"You better explain yourself and quick." Roman said.
"Beyond the light is possiblities that you can't imagine and we Yliaster believe that you Roman are a genius that you should be the first page in history.
"Also you've been marked for greatness." The man continued. "What does that mean?" Roman asked. "You have a mark on your left arm, do you not?" The man asked. Roman lifted his sleeve up. "I had this mark since I was born." He replied.
"That's right Destiny has chosen you and no one can hide from their Destiny." The man said.
Flashback scene cuts.
"(He has a mark of the Dragon, is he the fifth Signer?)" Yusei asked?
Flashback continues
The man was starting to walk away. "Wait this legend and this epic battle I've been hearing does have something to do with me?" Roman asked.
then sandstorm occurs.
"It just might, are you strong enough to listen to the voice in the light if not then it'll tell all you need to know." The man replied laughing as he disappeared. "What does he mean the voice in the light?" Roman asked.
Roman made it back to the Reactor and stared at it. "I heard a voice and it wasn't like me talking to you it wasn't words but the light was speaking to me nothenless." Roman explained.
Suddenly a purple light appeared. "I saw a visions about the Earthbound Immortal and the Crimson Dragon's battle then I realized the Ener-D Reactor was a device that can resurrect the battle between the gods." Roman said.
Flashback cuts to Crow, Cosmo, and Shadow walking through a dark tunnel. Then they came to a room. Crow opened the door and there was Rex Goodwin then Cosmo and Shadow saw him.
"What are you doing here Goodwin?" Shadow asked. "I just came here to say goodbye to my brother." He replied. Crow and his friends were confused.
"You see my brother was genius and I was always proud of him but in he was bargained with a great Destiny." Goodwin said.
flashback scene continues.
Dr Fudo was talking to several employees. "This mission is not up to bait I'm shutting down the Reactor!" He said in serious tone.
One of the men spoke: Sorry Professor I'm afraid you have no longer any authority and as of this moment you've been expelled from the RRD."
"I've been what!?" Dr Fudo asked in shock.
"We've worked into too much money into the development of this Reactor and we're not going sit back and let you shut it down." The man said. "So Roman Goodwin will be taking over."
Roman Goodwin approached his boss with crook smile. "Roman what's meaning of this?" Fudo asked. "The RRD needs someone with the courage to move forward so they realized I'm the person for this job." Roman explained.
"I've already taken actions and shut down the generator towers the seals are already in plac.." Dr Fudo was cut off by Roman.
"When you say seals, are you talking about these?" He asked showing four dragon cards. Dr Fudo was shocked. "How did you?" He asked. He then not asking more question, ran towards Roman, and snatched the Dragon cards.
"Arrgh don't let him escape!" Roman said. As the other RRD employees took out ray guns and fired. Dr Fudo was hit on his left arms which caused him to drop Ancient Fairy Dragon.
Rex found his boss sitting on floor and leaning against the wall. "Sir what can I do the help you?" He asked. "Please Rex shut down the Reactor and take these cards please the future of our world depends on it." Dr Fudo said handing the Dragon cards to his teammate.
Rex went to the Laboratory to see and found him. "Rex did you help Professor Fudo escape?" Roman asked angrily. "Have you lost your mind?" Rex asked.
"Take this and run!" Roman said throwing something at his brother. "What is in this capsule?" His brother asked. "The key the worlds survival.' Roman replied.
Rex gasped. "Good and evil were battling inside me therefore I chose the path of darkness so keep the mark of the Dragon safe, gather the four Signers, and come back then defeat me." Roman explained. "Brother I.." Rex began to say.
"Go now!" Roman ordered firing a gun at him causing Rex to run away.
Roman goes the control room of the Ener-D Reactor and hit a self destruct button which caused the Zero Reverse. "I'll be reborn as a Dark Signer!"
Dr Fudo took his son and put him a capsule escape hatch. Then the explosion caused the City and Satellite to split into two.
End of flashback.
"Therefore the gateway to the Netherworld began to open through the events of 5000 years ago and I was reborn as a Dark Signer." Roman explained.
meanwhile Rex was talking with Crow, Cosmo, and Shadow.
"You're brother was hearing voices and caused the Reactor to spin in reverse.' Crow said. "I guess with forces like that it's no wonder the strange man who tried to the built the bridge wasn't successful." Cosmo added.
"So I take it that you believe you three that man actually existed?" Rex asked. "Well yes he's sorta of our hero." Crow replied.
"Wait you seemed to know about the Immortals." Shadow said. "From what we learned the Immortal can absorb human and Duel Spirits, why didn't the absorb Cosmo, Miles, Slippy, and I?"
"I'm not sure but I having feeling that answers will come soon." Rex replied. "What's that suppose to mean?" Shadow asked.
Crow decided to change subject. "Goodwin I've dreamed to always reunited the Satellite and the City together."
"Yes you're gonna change Society, stop crime, and cure diseases." Rex said. "Listen your friend Yusei defeats my brother tell him I'll be waiting for him." Rex said as he went into room and door closed.
"Hey what does that?" Crow asked banging on the door. "Never mind him let's go find Yusei and the others." Cosmo said. The three of them looked for their friends.
back at the duel between Yusei and Roman.
"You lied to Roman you said my dad was greedy and didn't care about the safe guards." Yusei said. "Oh Yusei I only said that to upset you." Roman said. "Your father was self righteous boar who couldn't see the magnificent power of the Ene-D and in the end he was blinded by fear just as you'll be."
"My turn." Roman said drawing his card. "Now Earthbound Immortal Uru attack Yusei directly!"
"Not so fast." Yusei said as Zero Gardna blocked Uru attack. "I'll need to do is release Zero Gardna in order to take zero damage for the rest of this turn." he explained.
"Hmph you've managed to survive another attack." Roman said. "Heh heh how long can you last though?" He asked placing a card facedown.
"Well Roman keeps attacking like that then not very long." Leo said. "Try to stay positive." Trudge said. "I draw then. " Yusei said.
"I place two cards face down and end my turn." Yusei said. "(I just hope that one of these cards can save me.)"
"(I wonder if one of those cards can help him.)" Trudge thought.
"I'm backing you into a corner and closing in." Roman said drawing his card. He looked at it and grinned. "This Spell card will cross any hope you have go Earthbound Whirlwind!"
"With Uru in play I can use Earthbound Whirlwind to destroy every spell and trap your side of the field." Roman explained. "I knew it by placing those face down cards he's left himself wide open." Trudge said.
"I hoped you tried this so I activate the trap Starlight Road!" Yusei proclaimed. "When two or more of my cards are about to be destroyed my Trap can deflect your spell card." "He explained.
"Thanks to my trap cards second effect I can summon Stardust Dragon!"
Stardust Dragon: Attack 2500
"Alright he did it and you guys were all being negative." Leo said.
"So you managed to summon your lizard it's too late though." Roman said. "We'll see about that." Yusei said. Roman was confused what Yusei meant.
"I activate the Shooting Star since Stardust Dragon is in play I can destroy one card on your field and I'm destroying your Spider Web." Yusei explained.
"Not so fast I activate the Trap card Anti Emptiness by making my Immortal attack points zero my trap can negate any spell or trap's effect." Roman explained.
Earthbound Immortal Uru: Attack 0
"I end my turn but not before my Uru's attack points return to normal."
Earthbound Immortal Uru: Attack 3000
"I draw then." Yusei said. He looked at the card he drew which was spell. "I activate the spell card Battle Waltz which copies a Synchro Monster except for it's effect and I've chosen Stardust Dragon." Yusei explained. "
Waltz Token: Attack 2500
"Immortal can be chosen for attack target." Roman said reminding his opponent. I know but I'm attacking you instead." Yusei said.
"Go Waltz Token!"
"I activate my Roar of the Earthbound when a monster with lower attack point attacks my trap card can destroy that monster and you take damage to half your monsters attack points." Roman explained. "Not so fast I'm releasing Stardust Dragon to negate your trap's effect and destroy it." Yusei said as Stardust Dragon vanished.
"Now my Waltz Token will continue it's attack."
"Yusei is going to win!" Luna said. "Not just yet I activate the trap brilliant Shrine Art now your Waltz Token's attack is redirect to Uru and destroys it." Roman said.
The attack then caused an explosion. Roman smiled but then noticed Yusei was still standing. "Sorry Roman but I don't take damage with my Waltz Token is destroyed." Yusei explained. "Not only that your Immortal loses attack point equal to my token's attack points."
Earthbound Immortal Uru: Attack 500
"Roman I've listened enough about what you said you've done terrible things and say it's the work of destiny but I have bad news for you there's no such thing as Destiny if my dad didn't discover those Planetary Particles the Satellite would be still part of New Domino City therefore my friends and I who lived wouldn't be living alone on the streets but my dad is my dad is he was good man." Yusei said letting out a tears.
"As for my friends and bad things they went through don't tell me that's fate don't tell that was meant to happen!" Yusei shouted. "Yusei.."Luna said sadly.
"That's a lie this happened because of you and the choices you've made." Yusei said. "If only you knew how wrong you are." Roman said. After hearing that from Roman Yusei went silent.
Then a voice rang out. "Yusei don't listen him!"
Yusei looked down below and see Crow, Cosmo, and Shadow. "Yeah Roman is just kidding himself." Cosmo said. "Do you three think so?" Yusei asked. Shadow stepped in. "Yusei you know you're father wasn't responsible for this and there's no way he would've known Roman was going to do this." He said.
"I guess so." Yusei said sounding doubtful. Cosmo stepped in next. "Look at this way if Zero Reverse never happened then we've all wouldn't have met and become best friends." Cosmo said.
"She's right you know, that's just life and in the end we all make our own choice we aren't destined to make them this guy is using the word Destiny to be a jerk or who knows maybe it was my destiny say this." Crow said giggling. "He's right but either way finish Roman." Cosmo said.
"I'm on it." Yusei said nodded. "You know all that matters is that we listen to ourselves and do we think is right if there's such a thing as Destiny then you were destined to fail so I activate trap card Stardust Flash which can bring back my Stardust Dragon this turn."
Stardust Dragon: Attack 2500
"He's back?" Roman asked. "That's right he's going to attack with Cosmic Flare!" Yusei said as his Dragon fired it's cosmic breath at Uru and destroying rest of Roman's life points.
Roman: 0
"Alright!" Leo cheered.
Roman then laughed which surprises Yusei. "You really think it's over unless you seal all the four towers the King of the Netherworld will rise." He said as he turned into dust.
The attack from Yusei's Dragon then caused the bridge to break apart. Yusei then fell into the light. "No Yusei!" Luna cried. "Yusei!" Crow called out.
Yusei fell into the Ener-D's light and disappeared.
meanwhile back at Rex's mansion.
"(I sense that Yusei won his Shadow Duel.)" Rex thought. "(Too bad big brother but then you said your life was insignificant but there were great forces in play and gave you a right maybe we are pawns in destinies game.)"
"(If that's the case then I say let's change the rules.)" He thought as he stared a the capsule which contained Roman's Dragon mark which was the head of it.
