Chapter Twelve: Power
I don't own Naruto
Alli woke up bright and early the next morning, the sun out yet and that gave her plenty of time to accomplish a lot today. She changed into her baggy green tee, along with her fishnet clothing underneath and her black leggings. She also had to rewrap her arm with tape. She slipped on her sandals and then grabbed a quick small snack and headed out the door. No one was awake since the sun hasn't even rose yet.
Alli decided to go meditate near the hot springs. The sounds of the rushing water definitely brought a sense of calm, along with the small waterfall that was nearby. Patience was always a key to training and that is what meditation did for Alli. It brought her into another state of mind.
The chunnin exams were over so Sasuke didn't have to watch Alli anymore. It gave them both more time to practice on their training, but that didn't mean that the fangirls were just gonna stand by and do nothing. They kept pestering Sasuke and Alli around like they didn't have anything better to do. Alli is supposed to get her first mission as a ninja later on that day. The village was still recovering from the attack, so Alli was mostly going to help around.
After a good hour of meditation, she started to feel the warmth of the sun's rays on her skin. Alli opened her eyes to see the sun rising to start a brand new day. She got up from her position and started to make way back to her house for some breakfast. No one in her house got up before nine in the morning unless they had to. She walked back in to prove her point.
"Let's see," Alli rummaged through the pantry, "I could have a balanced bowl of cereal, or I could have some rice balls, or I could make bacon and toast." Alli walked over to the stove and turned it on and made herself some decent breakfast to start off her morning.
A little later, Alli decided to roam around the village to see if anyone needed any help. She had a few good hours to spare. After all it was still morning. Alli walked over to a nearby shop that was a bit damaged from the attack. An old man was outside moving heavy boxes and was trying to rebuild the exterior of the shop.
"Excuse me, do you need any help?" Alli asked the old man.
"Sure miss," the old man turned around to Alli.
"What do you need help with?" The old man walked over to Alli and gave her a key. Then pointed towards the second level of the shop.
"I need you to bring all these heavy boxes up there. The key leads to my room. Since I have to rebuild my shop, most of the belongings will have to stay up there for a while."
"I got it sir!" Alli stated and then helped the old man. It took a good few minutes but it was easy and made the old man's day a bit easier too.
"I really appreciate this young lady," the old man thanked. "This whole destruction really ruined my business for the next few days and I had zero help lately. Here's a few dollars to spare."
"Oh no, I can't take that." Alli rejected, "I'm doing this out of the goodness of my heart. Pass it on old man."
Alli then took her leave and headed towards the Hokage's tower. She was getting her first mission and just couldn't wait to see what was in store for her.
On the other side of town, Kabuto was putting the notorious plan in action.
"The main goal is to put the curse mark on her. Eventually she'll have to seek me out," Orochimaru informed. "Then the power should be mine."
"How are we going to do that? They have ears and eyes everywhere for that girl," Kabuto expressed his concerns.
"Eventually she's going to have to leave the village, the only bad part is that the Akatsuki are after her too," Orochimaru told him. "She won't be leaving the village for a while either. Even if she gets trained to be a ninja, it will take a long time for her to set foot out of the village, with or without supervision."
Currently Alli was standing in the Hokage's tower. Tsunade was looking at what D-ranked mission she could give to Alli to start off her ninja career. She wanted her to start off slow and easy and not rushing into a big complicated mission that could take days.
"So these are the missions I can currently give you," Tsunade started off, "There's one for walking the shelter dogs, babysitting the feudal lord's kid, and cleaning the river along the nearby mountains."
Alli grimaced, "Those are missions?"
"Its for those who are fresh out of the academy, and well for your level of training," Tsunade rummaged through her desk for a headband. Tsunade gave it to Alli.
"This is your headband, I know you already had your picture taken for the records a while ago but this really makes you a ninja."
"I feel like I'm dreaming honestly," Alli said. She put her headband around her neck. She looked towards Tsunade, "I guess I'll go with walking the shelter dogs."
"Alright it's settled," Tsunade smiled, "I let the owner know you are on your way. Even though you are old enough, I will probably send someone with you. Just for precaution, and just incase something happens to you, someone will inform me."
Just then there was a knock on the door.
"ENTER!"
The door opened to reveal Kurenai Yuhi.
"Alli this is Kurenai. She was on medical leave for a while since she had a baby, but now she's ready to be in the force again and the best decision is to start with D-ranked missions and you are the perfect person for her to start up again with.
Alli studied Kurenai and it did show she did have a baby. She did have the body fat that showed. At least she was meeting someone new.
"Alli will give you the details of the mission on your way there."
Alli and Kurenai left the Hokage tower. Other ninjas were passing by to report to Lady Tsunade.
"So what is the mission?" Kurenai asked.
"We are basically walking the dogs at the shelter. Easy as pie," Alli replied back. She stopped walking and turned towards Kurenai. "Ive never formally introduced myself. I'm Alli Namikaze. I'm Naruto's younger sister. I just started out as a ninja, but I'm learning fast."
Kurenai's eye's widened when she heard the name. "I've heard about you. It's really amazing after all you've been through. As Tsunade said before my name is Kurenai, I just had a baby girl. Shikamaru looks after her a lot, since her father isn't in the picture anymore. He died on a mission." Kurenai started to tear up.
"I'm so sorry to hear that," Alli walked over to console the woman.
"It's fine now, it's all in the past, his memory still lives on."
The two walked together for some more before they got to their destination. They both picked an easy dog to walk throughout the forest.
"I didn't know D-ranked missions would be so easy," Alli commented.
"This is how they always are," Kurenai replied, "Even though they are really simple it teaches the genin to understand patience and teamwork. Usually the three genin walk all of the dogs but since its us and we are older and more understanding of what it means to be a ninja, we got it easy."
"I get it," Alli walked the little mutt back into his cage. "I did after all stop Gaara of the Desert. He is really nice once you get to know him."
"That's right, I heard about that," Kurenai put her dog back as well. She turned to Alli. "That mean a huge impact on the Leaf and Sand alliance."
"I'm not one for politics," Alli grab another puppy and but it on its leash. "I rather let everyone else do that stuff, unless I strongly agree or disagree with the subject. I may be an ultimate weapon of some sort, but that doesn't mean that the council members can keep me locked up. Besides, all the head clans are into the whole politics and I rather not deal with it."
"Aren't you dating Sasuke?"
"Well yeah, but Itachi was first born," Alli said, "Doesn't that mean Itachi would be head of the clan and not Sasuke?"
"Yes, but if something were happen to Itachi, Sasuke would be the next in line. You may not have to worry about it now, but if you two continue this relationship there are traditions and a bit of politics you will have to learn Alli," Kurenai explained.
"Great, it gets even more complicated," Alli sighed. She sat on the soft green grass. Kurenai joined her.
"You are a strong girl Alli, I bet you will do fine," Kurenai complimented. "As for me, I'll probably stick to D-ranked missions for a long while. I can't have my life on the line too often. I don't want my baby girl to be an orphan, I do miss being a ninja though and I feel like this is the right thing to do."
"Trust me," Alli murmured as she watched the puppy play play in a nearby stream. "You are doing the right thing."
They both watched the puppy play a little bit more before they headed back to the shelter.
"Let's get going and report back to Lady Tsunade," Alli stated and then both walked back to the Hokage tower.
Sasuke and Naruto were currently sparring at the training grounds. They decided to end their match for today and chatted for a while.
"How does it feel to be chunnin done?"
"I'm just glad to finally be able to have it as a status, even though Grandma Tsunade always sent me on tougher missions before I was considered a real chunnin," Naruto explained. He walked over to where he had his belongings placed and grabbed a water bottle. Sasuke did the same as well.
"What do you think of Alli finally starting her life as a ninja today?" Naruto asked his friend.
Sasuke looked over to Naruto, "I think its great, but its her choice really. She can finally protect herself or at least can start learning how to."
"She's really dedicated that for sure," Naruto commented. He laid down on the grass to look at the clear sky. Sasuke just sat next to him.
"Why do you say that?"
Naruto closed his eyes, "She wasn't even home when I woke up this morning, she just left a note saying she was training and then another note saying that she was going to get her first mission."
Sasuke smiled, he was really proud of her. Especially thinking about how they all started not knowing each other and now its like perfect. He frowned, usually when things turn out too perfect something bad usually happens. "At least we have days off. I need a break, your sister can be a handful Naruto."
"Yeah, wait…WHAT?!" Naruto leaped out of his position. "What are you trying to say?!"
Sasuke just laughed, "Come on, let's go get some lunch."
Naruto and Sasuke left the training grounds and ended up at Ichiraku Ramen. They both ordered their meals. "I still don't understand how you can eat here all the time."
"Cause it's the best ramen in the whole wide world!" Naruto threw his hands up in the air.
Sasuke shook his head.
"Besides," Naruto zoned out a bit, "All of my best memories are here. Talking with Iruka-sensei or just spending time with mom and dad are at the ramen shop. Sure we do other things together but sitting here and having good times with no one else really brings out the best."
They both got their ramen placed in front of them and started eating. Sasuke went through two bowls and Naruto had about six.
"You better have enough money to pay for your meal," Sasuke place his money on the counter. "Cause I'm not paying for you again."
"Don't worry, I actually saved up enough money this time," Naruto reassured. He pulled out his frog wallet and placed the correct amount on the counter. The two walked out of the little shop and started headed towards the Hokage tower.
"Want to see if Alli's back from her mission?" Naruto asked.
"Sure, why not?"
Kurenai and Alli were casually walking back, it's not like there was any rush. It was a good start to Alli's ninja career and she honestly couldn't be any more happier.
"I can believe this turned out so well. I can finally make a living, I mean of course I'll still live with my parents for a few years because after all they missed out on most of my life, but at least I have them now," Alli most spoke to herself than Kurenai.
"You may not know it Alli, but your parents want to spend as much time with you as possible," Kurenai explained, "They treasure you after all. They sent you away to give you your best chance at a better life than being here and targeted. Sure, you and your brother had bad circumstances with him being the nine-tailed fox child and you being Chakra Princess but you both learned to live with the circumstances you were given."
"Chakra Princess?" Alli picked up on that name.
"Oh yeah, everyone's been saying that lately. I think it suites well with the whole situation," Kurenai informed. "Don't you notice all the people murmuring it or staring at you as you walk through the street Alli?"
Alli looked at her surroundings. They were currently in the shopping center which wasn't that far from the Hokage tower. "I didn't really notice…"
They both didn't noticed a grey sickly pale man staring at Alli. He held out his hand and a slight purple glow surrounded his hand and then latched onto Alli's neck and then disappeared as if it wasn't there to begin with. Then the area on her neck glowed with a three toma' symbol then faded once again. The man smiled, pleased with himself and headed off to the nearest alleyway.
Alli and Kurenai were standing in front of Tsunade. Alli kept rubbing her neck and just brushed it off as a bug bite.
"Good work guys," Tsunade congratulated, "I'm very proud and I'm sure your parents are proud of your first step towards your career goal."
"Yeah, I bet," Alli rubbed her neck, "I think this is a good start for me."
Tsunade looked at Alli's neck with a concerned look, "Alli are you okay?"
Alli smiled, "Yeah just a bug bite."
Kurenai looked at Alli like she wasn't convinced. "Here is the report." Kurenai stepped forward and handed the report to Tsunade. Tsunade read the report and her smile grew big.
"I give you both your payment now," Tsunade said and handed Alli and Kurenai their pay. Just then a knock was at the door.
"ENTER!"
Sasuke and Naruto walked in. "Granny! Is Alli-chan here, is she back yet?"
Alli and Kurenai turned around to see Sasuke and Naruto. Alli's smiled widen.
"Hey guys!" Alli walked over to Sasuke and gave him a hug and then did the same to Naruto. "What are you two doing here?"
"Naruto wanted to see if you finished your mission yet," Sasuke explained. Alli rubbed her neck again.
"Yeah, we just got paid," Alli said. She turned towards Tsunade and Kurenai. "Thanks so much for accompanying me Kurenai. It means a lot."
Kurenai just smiled, "It was no problem. You go off with Sasuke and Naruto. I'll handle the rest of the business here."
"Thanks so much!" Alli left with Sasuke and Naruto. Kurenai and Tsunade watched the trio leave.
Kurenai turned towards Tsunade. "It seems like there is something wrong with Alli."
Tsunade sighed, "I noticed. The only problem is, I don't know what it is. We have to inform Kushina and Minato. I don't think it has anything to do with her chakra, but we got to keep an eye out."
Kurenai sighed, "It seems like it just can't be peaceful in the village."
AN: It's been a few months I know. I honestly have no free time whatsoever anymore. I feel like if any story that's gonna get updated would honestly be this one. I have no inspiration for any other story in the moment and if I did, they are in my hard drive getting written so this whole thing of procrastination and just putting it off. I want to write out a whole story first and then update weekly but that may take a while. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this chapter, I took forever but I finally got it out.
