**The Next Day**

Ryou's POV:

I'm the first one up, it takes me a minute to remember where I am. I decide to go to our classroom. It's decorated to look similar to Egypt. The walls are a sand-yellow color and there are pictures of things that you'd find in Egypt all over the room. In the corner, by the door, there are writings about the Millennium Items and the Nameless Pharaoh. Not 5 minutes later, Marik and Yugi come in and we go down to breakfast.

When we get to breakfast, Marik and I go over to the staff table, while Yugi walks over to the Gryffindor table. He gives Harry something and then comes over to us.

"What was that, Yugi?"

"Just a picture of our mothers that I got from Grandpa."

We finish breakfast, and go back to our classroom. We make sure that every desk has a course book on it. We decide that we will all share lessons for the first couple grades. Our first is class 5th year Ravenclaws and Gryffindors. They're pretty tame, thankfully! We explain to them that (as they know) since this is their OWL year, we have combined the most important lessons from all the other grades. We explain how the year will go, and assign the reading of chapter one for their homework. Then we have 4th year Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs. We explain the course to them, give them books, and assign the first chapter for homework. Then it's off to lunch.

We sit in between Professor Lupin and Professor Sprout. They ask us how our morning went, and how our afternoon looks. We tell them about our nice morning, and then inform then that our next class is 3rd year Slytherins and Gryffindors. They tell us to watch out… the two houses don't have the best relationship.

Bakura scowls at me, I smile.

Lupin explains about the house rivalries, and how the lions and the snakes are the worst. We tell them that we'll be okay, and leave to prepare for our next class.

"Hey Yugi, Harry will be in this class, right?"

"Yup Marik."

"Cool!"

The Gryffindors all file in and take seats, then the Slytherins come in and take seats on the other side of the room. This is going to be an interesting class.

+Well, here goes nothing.+

"Welcome to History of Magic, I'm Marik Ishtar, and these guys are Yugi Muto and Ryou Bakura."

(Yugi) "Now, I know that there was no book for this class on your booklist, so those books on your desks are yours."

(Ryou) "We will not be teaching you anything for the book today, and we will not just be teaching directly from the book. That said, we still expect you to read what we assign for homework. We will have a little quiz on the reading every once-and-a-while to make sure that you are reading."

(Marik) "As you are Third years, we'll be taking a week-and-a-half to go over what the First years will be studying and a week-and-a-half to go over what the Second years will be studying."

(Yugi) "The big book on your desks is the one that we will use for most of the year. The smaller book is the one we will use for the first month or so when going over the First and Second year material."

We explained some more about how this course is going to go and asked if anyone had any questions… surprisingly, no one did!

(Ryou) "For your homework, please read the first chapter in the small book. Don't worry, it's a short chapter."

There were only a couple minutes before the end of the class, so we let the kids talk to each other until the bell rang. After class, we all file into the Great Hall for dinner. After dinner, Dumbledore came up to us and asked us to come up to his office.

Dumbledore told us about Sirius Black, the once best friend of James Potter (Harry's father) who betrayed Harry's parents to Voldemort. He also told us that Black has broken out of Azkaban and they believe that he is after Harry. Dumbledore wants us to protect Harry while we are here. He also told us that if we have any questions about Black or James Potter, to ask Remus Lupin, as he was friends with them when they attended school.

The rest of the week went by without any problems. We talked with Remus Lupin about James and Sirius.

So, there's the chapter. The end isn't as good as I wanted it to be, but I needed something to use as a segue to the next chapter… Sirius comes in. Review please!
