Hi everyone. I'm really really really really really sorry that this took 5 months to get out. Homework took up most of my time and when I was through, my mind was too brain dead to even get started on this chapter. It wasn't until the last few weeks of 2014 when I really did get started. ...Yikes! Hopefully this is worth the wait for you all.

I don't own Swat Kats in any way. They belong to Hanna-Barbera. I only own my OCs.

Date: March 28, 2012 10:00 p.m.

Location: Enforcer Headquarters – Commander Feral's Office.

Normal Pov:

A normal day for someone who is working with the Enforcers would consist of: an all-clear patrol around the streets, training new rookies to be the best of the best, or arresting the most wanted criminal in the city after so many months of losing their trail. Unfortunately for Commander Feral, this turned out to not be one of those normal days. And all thanks to those two vigilantes.

Because of those meddling Swat Kats not only did Dark Kat get away…..again, but now there is an unknown pilot hiding somewhere in the city. This should not concern Feral at all, but he can't get the pilot out of his head. Something about them was rubbing him the wrong way. According to the cadet's reports the silver jet was last seen following the Turbokat to an unknown location. It wasn't long before all squadrons lost sight of the two completely.

When Feral finally returned to Headquarters he started to overhear the cadets talking about the unknown pilot and what side he or she was on. Some believed the pilot was on their side due to the fact that Dark Kat's jet was nearly blown to oblivion by the missiles. Others said that they were trying to get the Enforcers' trust before stabbing them in the back later on. There were a few cadets who even thought that the pilot was an old ally of the Swat Kats who finally decided to come and help them out.

When Feral overheard that last suggestion, his anger rose a little bit higher.

That would be the next thing I need, another vigilante to worry about, he thought while sitting at his desk.

This would not look good on his report to the higher-ups.

SKSKSKSKSK

Meanwhile at the hidden hanger – Amber's Pov:

"Wait a minute…..you were how old when you got flying lessons again?" Chance asked while rubbing some oil off his garage coveralls.

"I was only eight when my dad taught me the basics, though it wasn't until months later when I had my first flight. Under supervision of course!" I replied while replacing some damaged wires to my jet's main thruster.

After our introductions were over with me, Jake, and Chance began the repairs on our jets. Since the Turbokat's damages were minimal, repairs on it didn't take long. However, since the Lightning Strike's damages were more sever then I thought, it was taking all three of us to try to get her flight worthy again.

During the next hour or so of repairs we started to ask each other questions about what our worlds were like. Our conversation soon turned into a game of "Questions and Answers, you first then me." Currently, we were on the topic of where I got my jet skills from.

"Seriously? Man, you must have hit it right off the bat if you're this good of a pilot today," Chance replied while helping me up.

"Thanks," I told him while cleaning some oil off my flight suit.

"Huh, never seen anything do this before," Jake said curiously.

Both Chance and I walked over to see him observing that unknown weapon which stopped the Enforcers from following me earlier. I wonder how it did that anyway.

"What is it buddy?" Chance asked.

Jake put down the scanner he was using and turned toward us. "Well, unless these readouts are wrong, it looks like this fired an unknown energy that shut off all the choppers' systems one by one. And it looks like that it would prevent them from turning on for a while."

"Oh, so that's what it did," I said while observing the weapon myself.

The two kats behind me gave each other confused looks.

"Wait a minute. You mean to say that you just inserted this weapon and had no idea what it did?" Chance asked.

I turned to them a little embarrassed. "Actually….I really didn't add this. It just showed up today."

Jake hummed in thought. "I wonder if how you got here has anything to do with it."

"What do you mean?" I asked him.

"Well, it's possible that half of the nuclear fuel rods that Dark Kat stole were used to power up the device that pulled you here. The energy from those rods probably did something else as well."

"So, her jet was upgraded by nuclear radiation," Chance said as a look of surprise came over his face. "You think that's how our missiles combined earlier?"

"Maybe. We'll have to give this jet a test drive just to be sure," Jake replied while putting the weapon back onto my jet.

Huh….so you got upgraded with some new weapons did ya? I wonder what else got upgraded, I thought while looking at my jet in awe.

…..Wait a minute. Isn't nuclear radiation bad for humans? If that's the case will it affect me in any way? Ugh, I hope not. The next thing I need is throwing up my guts for the next couple of days.

"I think I'll be the first to test to see what this girl can do," Chance said while giving my jet an affectionate pat….forcing all thoughts of nuclear radiation from my head.

I turned to him sternly and slapped his hand….err, paw off my jet. "Don't even think about flying my baby!"

After how many times I've seen him nearly crash the Turbokat in the series, there is no way he is flying the Lightning Strike.

"Heh heh, I think on that note we should call it a day buddy. It's already gotten late as it is," Jake said as he smiled at us.

I looked at the clock on the wall to see that it read 11:30 p.m. Geez, it really had gotten late. I guess time flies when you're talking to your favorite characters.

"Well, thanks for helping me repair my jet guys. I guess I'll see you two in the morning," I told them while making my way to the jet's cockpit.

I was barely up on the wing when Chance asked, "And just where you think you're going kid?"

"Um, I'm going to sleep in the cockpit. What else?"

"Oh no you're not," Chance said as he picked me off the wing and put me down on the floor. "You'll be sleeping upstairs tonight."

"Uh…are you guys sure? I don't want to be a bother."

"You won't be, you just need a better place to sleep then those seats up there," Jake replied.

"Um….okay, if you guys are sure about that. But where am I going to put this?" I asked while gesturing to my flight suit.

Jake walked over to their lockers and started to clear out a third one that just so happened to be next to his. "This locker has been storing spare tools for some time now. It might as well get a better use out of it."

Deciding to just go with it I began to slip out of my flight suit and hang it into the borrowed locker. While I straightened out my clothes from underneath I failed to notice that most of my scars and bruises were being revealed. They didn't go unnoticed by the two kats behind me.

"You…..um, got in a lot of fights back home kid?" Chance asked with a hint of worry.

Crud! They saw them! Have to come up with something quick! "Uh…..yeah! I accidently got into some street fights now and then. Guess I should have looked before I leaped huh?" Ugh! That's got to be the worst lie I ever came up with.

"If you say so," Jake said with a bit of concern.

As soon as we got my bags from the jet, we climbed out of the hanger to the waiting/living room of the garage. Immediately, Chance began to clean the room up while Jake went off into the next room over. Probably to get a spare pillow and blanket for me to sleep in. When all that was taken care of we all said our goodnights and both kats went upstairs to their rooms.

When I believe they are far out of earshot, I slipped off my shoes, got comfortable on the couch, and grabbed my Razor plush from my bag.

"Razor, if this is a dream…..it's one I don't want to wake up from," I tell him while slowly falling to sleep.

The next day: March 29, 2012

The first few rays of sunlight were the first to pull me out of my wondrous sleep. As I slowly opened my eyes, I noticed a nearby clock saying it was 9:30 in the morning.

…...

...

…...

"HOLY SHIT!" I shouted while falling out of my "bed." "I can't believe I overslept! I'm so getting a longer punishment for this!"

While searching for my morning attire, I slowly started to notice that the Bensons hadn't woken me up like they usually did. And the room I woke up in wasn't my bedroom at all.

Wait a minute….this looks like…

Then everything that happened yesterday came back to me in a second.

That's right, I thought while sitting back down, I was somehow pulled into the Swat Kats dimension. Both Jake and Chance brought me here to keep me out of the Enforcers' hands. Now that that's over with...what now?

Worrying about this won't do me any good right now. It's probably best just to go with the flow and see where it takes me.

Hmm, I wonder how long it's been since the guys have had and good breakfast. After all, it is the least I could do to thank them for helping me yesterday, I thought while walking into the kitchen.

SKSKSKSKSK

Normal Pov:

On most mornings some kats wake up to their faithful alarms to start their day. This wasn't the case for Jake however when the aroma of bacon hit his nose.

Finally, Chance decided to get off his lazy tail to cook breakfast for once, he thought while getting dressed for the day.

As he walked out of the room, he nearly ran into Chance who was on his way down.

"Hold on a second," Jake said with confusion. "You're not the one making breakfast downstairs?"

"No…I thought you were," Chance replied.

This left both kats to wonder. If both of them were up here, who was making breakfast downstairs?

Slowly, they both made their way to the kitchen. When they looked in they saw a young girl cooking at the stove.

That's right; she was the girl we helped out yesterday. What was her name again….Amber? Jake thought as they both walked into the kitchen.

"Morning kid," Chance greeted while making his way to the table.

"Morning guys. I hope you like eggs with your bacon," Amber replied as she reached for the carton.

"We would like some. But, you didn't have to make up breakfast you know," Jake said while getting to his seat.

"I know. It's just my way of thanking you two for helping me out yesterday. …So, what do you plan to do with me now?"

"What do you mean?" Jake asked.

"Well, I figured since you guys are the Swat Kats you probably know all sorts of places where I could hide for a while right?"

Chance sighed. "What part of 'Follow us, we know a place where you could lay low for a while' didn't you understand."

"I thought that meant I would stay here for the night, and then you guys would find me a better place in the morning. You don't want me to leave?"

"Of course not, this is the best place for you to hide right now," Jake said as he gave her a smile. "It would be nice to have some company for a while." Besides, there are still a few questions that need to be answered, he thought while sneaking a peek at her scars.

"….Thanks, I would really appreciate that."

And for the first time in a long while, Amber felt at home.

SKSKSKSKSK

After breakfast – Amber's Pov:

"Don't worry ma'am, we'll be there soon to see what the problem is. Yes you'll get a tune up as well. Goodbye," Jake said while hanging up the phone.

"Isn't that the third call you got this morning?" I asked while putting the dishes in the sink.

"Yep, looks like another busy day for us," he replied while picking up a list of jobs. "C'mon Chance, we got some house calls to do."

"What?!" Chance exclaimed from the living room. "But I was hoping to catch Scaredy Kat this morning. It's a fifty-hour marathon today!"

Jake laughed. "You can catch it tonight buddy, we got to go."

"Alright," Chance grumbled.

"So…..do you guys want me to stay inside while you're out?" I asked as I followed them to the front door.

"Yeah, we'll work on something that will hide you better when we get back," Jake said.

"Stay out of trouble Amber," Chance teased while grabbing the keys to the tow truck.

"I will, see you later you two," I replied.

As soon as I heard the tow truck driving out of sight, I contemplated on what to do now. While sitting on the couch, I noticed that the room was still messy in a few areas. Come to think of it, the kitchen was in the same state wasn't it? Thinking about it caused an idea to form in my mind.

"Hmm, I wonder where they keep their cleaning supplies at."

Hours later – Normal Pov:

"Man, who would've thought that three house calls would take this long," Chance complained while driving back to the salvage yard. "You think the kid isn't wondering where we are?"

"Don't worry; we already called to let her know we would be late getting back. She's probably relaxing in front of the TV waiting for us," Jake replied.

"Yeah, watching my Scaredy Kat marathon no less."

Jake sighed in defeat. Him and that show…

"Speaking of, did you happen to notice how many markings she has?" Chance asked.

"Yeah I did notice. Something tells me she didn't get any of those from street fights."

"You're probably right buddy. It looked like all of them were inflicted by force against her will. Why would somebody do that to her?"

"I don't know, but it may be a while before we get any answers."

"What makes you say that? Wouldn't it be easier just to ask what happened?"

Jake gave Chance a look that just said "seriously." "Didn't you even hear the hesitation in her voice when she told us it was street fights? She's not going to tell us what happened right away you know."

"Yeah.….but it doesn't seem fair not knowing what really happened. I just want to find the ones responsible for this and give them a piece of my mind!" Chance replied angrily.

"I know you want to pal, but we can't just force out the answers. We have to give it time before we ask Amber questions like that okay?" Jake asked.

"…Alright. That doesn't mean I'll like it though," Chance grumbled while pulling into the yard.

After turning off the tow truck's engine, both kats made their way to the front door. When they got in however both were in for a surprise. The entire front room was completely clean, almost like everything was just bought new this morning. Even the cracks that were on the walls seemed to be completely gone! They were both shocked that they hardly noticed their guest coming in from the other room.

"Oh hi guys, how did your day go?"

"It was….okay. ….Did you clean this place up?" Chance asked.

"Yeah…..I noticed that you were getting behind on cleaning duty, so I decided to help out."

"Well…we appreciate it," Jake replied. "But, you're not planning on becoming our maid are you?"

"Heck no! I just wanted to be nice and help you guys out a bit."

"Then by all means keep it up. I think I could get used to this," Chance said with a smile.

Their conversation would've continued….if it wasn't for the sound of a certain truck pulling in the yard.

"Where are ya boys? We got a delivery for yous," a voice cackled from outside.

"Yeah and this one is extra special just for you," laughed another.

"Who was that!?" Amber asked as the sound of falling metal crashed outside.

"Burke and Murry, our residential junk kats," grumbled Jake.

"Who?"

"No one you need to worry about. Just stay inside while we handle this," Chance said while going outside with Jake.

SKSKSKSKSK

Amber's Pov:

"Yeah, and let those two junk kats get their way…not on my watch tabby!" I said while picking up a screwdriver and quietly followed them outside. I think it's time Burke and Murry got what's coming to them, don't you?

Using the piles of scrap metal as my cover, I made my way to the front of the dump truck. When I got there I noticed that one of the doors was completely open. Ooh, those two are going to regret leaving it open like that!

I quietly crawled inside and started to "upgrade" their trucks movement. Let's see…if I reroute this wire's power to here and plug this cord over there, it should go the way I want it. Hee hee, those two are so going to get it!

"C'mon Burke, let's give these two losers sometime to think about what they did wrong," Murry teased.

"Becoming pilots for one thing," Burke laughed as the two made their way back to the front of the truck.

Shit! Sounds like it's time to get out of here! I thought while quickly escaping the cab and hiding beside the garage.

No sooner then I hid when Burke started up the truck. Instead of going forward it immediately rammed into a nearby scrap pile. Then it started to run into another, and another, and another! This in turn caused the two kats inside to panic.

"BURKE! STOP THIS CRAZY THING!"

"I'M TRYING! STUPID THING ISN'T DOING WHAT I WANT!"

"YOU IDIOT! GIVE ME THE DAMN WHEEL!"

"MURRY DON'T TURN IT THAT WAY!"

Too late….. The truck immediately began to do a couple of 360 turns on them, and then drive backwards out of the yard, and into the city. As soon as the truck was out of sight, I could no longer hold it in.

"A-HAH-HAH-HAH-HA! Did you guys see the looks on their faces! That was completely priceless! A-HAH-HAH!"

"You did that?!" both Chance and Jake asked with surprise.

"Of course I did! Somebody had to teach those two a lesson. And I must say that I did a pretty good job," I replied while walking over to them.

Both kats soon joined in on my laughter. "You sure did kid! Where have you been all our lives," Chance laughed while pulling me into a hug.

"Uhh….right now trying to get out of your bone crushing hug!" I wheezed.

Chance immediately put me down so I could try to catch my breath.

"Heh heh! I have a feeling that the three of us are going to get along just fine," Jake said while the three of us went back inside.

And you know what; I have a feeling we will.

A/N: Again, I'm really sorry you guys had to wait so long for this. I just hope that chapter seven won't take nearly as long. Don't worry, ideas for the next chapter are already on the way. So on that note, the next chapter should be up sometime in February or March. It'll just depend on how the days go for me.

To make up for this late update I'm going to give you guys a sneak peak at whats to come for chapter seven. Here you go!:

SKSKSKSKSK

Amber's Pov:

I was immediately forced into the other room by my kidnapper. What he wanted me for...I have no idea, but something tells me it can't be good.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked while struggling against his grip.

"Shut up and keep walking!" he replied as I was shoved into a wall.

OW! That's going to leave another mark.

When we reached our destination, he began to search throughout my being. His efforts were rewarded when he held the communicator that Jake gave me this morning...in his paw.

"There it is. I had a feeling they would give you something like this. There's no point in calling your Swat Kat buddies now is there!" he yelled as he threw the device into a nearby wall.

Next he tore off my bracelet, causing my disguise to fade away. But instead of going into a panic, he just laughed for all its worth.

"Yes I knew it! I have finally caught up with you after all these years!"

"...You knew I would have a communicator and that I wasn't a kat. ...How?" I asked with dread.

He gave a deep chuckle. "Amber, I know more about you then you'll ever know!"

With that, he tore off his chain necklace, making his own disguise fade away! When everything cleared up...fear immediately made it's way into my heart.

"Y..Y...You!"

"Heh heh. Did you missed me you worthless son of a bitch."

##########

Uh oh! Looks like Amber's time in Megakat City won't be a smooth ride after all. We'll have to see how things will turn out for her in the end.

Well, I hope you guys enjoyed this little sneak peak. Don't know if it's going to be the same in the chapter though. We'll just have to see.

Enjoy and don't forget to leave a review.

See ya!
