I promised to update when I have something to write, so ha! This was swirling in my head for quite a while and I didn't even write it down on my diary (something like a diary that keeps track of all my interesting things) so I was afraid I wouldn't be able to write it well. Some things may not be 100% accurate, like the convos since it was such a long time ago, but it's pretty similar. Hope you guys enjoy!

The last few days before winter break, was our finals.

Technically, the finals last up to four days, starting from wednesday to next week's monday, but there's no need to go to school if we didn't have exams that day, nor did we have to stay until school was over.

Exams...Finals...those words make every student nervous, but ironically, those few days were the best days of the first semester for me.

Why?

Simple. It was because Natsume Hyuuga started talking to me again.

In the morning of the first day of exam, all 9th graders on the 4th floor were gathered into small groups, nervously studying and testing each other. Strangely, somehow the aura seemed more like everyone was a little more excited than nervous, since it was the first time us freshman had our final exam.

I went to my usual spot on the couches farthest away from the stairwells. A few of my friends were already there, so I took my spot next to them. A few boys took my spot, so I sat on the small coffee table in the middle of the couches.

Minutes later, Natsume and a few of his friends arrived. Ignored him, as it was my goal not to get caught up with him. Surprisingly, he sat in front of me. Like, really close. The table I was sitting on was only about half a foot away from the couch Natsume was sitting on. Basically, our legs were touching, that was how close we were.

Simon, as Natsume's good friend, obviously sat next to him, the only spot that was still available on that couch.

"Hey." I almost jumped out my skin at the sound of his voice, directed at me.

"Hey." I greeted back, hoping it sounded casual instead of delighted. I was pretty sure I already had a wide smile on my face though.

"You ready?" He asked, raising his eyebrow and I merely laughed.

"Hell no." I answered with a shake of my head. Actually, I felt pretty confident, but whenever I felt confident, I would always get bad grades so...

"How about you?" I asked back and he shook his head with a sigh.

"'Course not." I nodded in understanding.

"Did you at least study?" I asked and he gave a dry laugh.

"Sorta." I narrowed my eyes suspiciously at him, before I took out my notes for science and tested him on MRS H GREN (the characteristics of life).

"U-Um...Movement, respiration..." He scratched the back of his head in concentration.

"Lol, I don't remember." I sighed in disbelief.

"You're so doomed." He nodded mockingly.

"Yeah, yeah." Simon butted in, stealing my worksheets and studied it.

"Hey, can you test me?" He asked and I nodded, motioning for Natsume to join in as well. I tested them on the things we were told were on the test; Simon was definitely ready, Natsume...not so much.

When I finished testing them, Natsume took my worksheets and looked over it, asking questions along the way. Honestly, science wasn't my best subject, so I wasn't so sure on a few things as well, but it was fun, studying with Natsume like this.

Time was up, and it was time to go to our respective classrooms for the exam.

Each exam was 2 hours long, and for the first hour no one was allowed to leave the classroom, even if it was just to go to the bathroom.

There was 5 minutes in the beginning for students to read over the test and make sure nothing was wrong, like the test was numbered wrong or etc.

The first page of the science exam was pretty basic, and I knew most of it. As I flipped onto the second the third pages, I started to feel nervous, since I had no idea what some of the questions were asking. The first half of the exam packet were multiple questions, the other were short answers.

Hopefully, I'll be able to pass the exam.

Then we picked up our pencils, and started the test.

Our 2 hours was up, and I finished my test about 30 minutes earlier. Stretching as I walked out the classroom, I felt quite relieved. It wasn't as hard and scary as a few people said, and in fact I felt that there wasn't much tension in the classrooms either, which was a plus.

Break was basically the same thing, everyone gathered around to study for the next and final exam of the day. I was downright starving, as I often was during break. Natsume was busy talking with the rest of his friends, and didn't acknowledge me much except for a small hi.

"How did you think you did?" He asked and I shrugged a little.

"Okay, I guess." I answered and he nodded, saying he felt like he did pretty well. He walked to his friends, and I walked to mine. What I didn't understand was, why were my friends sitting on the floor?

"Hey guys." I greeted and they gave me a halfhearted hi before continuing their study. Doris, the smartest in our group and almost the smartest in the whole grade, was the only one pacing around casually, talking with a few boys who begged for her to test them.

"Hi, Mikan." She greeted and I greeted back enthusiastically. She was like a sister and a mother to me, someone I could always rely on.

"Hi!" I have her a bear hug, surprising her successfully.

"Oh...kay..." She said awkwardly with a small laugh. "So, need help studying?" She asked and I shook my head with confidence.

"Nah, I'm pretty confident on social studies." I answered and she nodded in understanding. Social studies was my best subject, other than my electives and I was very confident that I can get a good score on this one.

"I'm really hungry! Can you go to the café with me? Please~?" I begged Doris and she sighed with reluctance before finally giving in.

After that, our second exam started.

Just as I had predicted, the exam was easy. Like, crazy easy. I remember clearly my teacher told us there was going to be short answers, but everything on the exam was multiple choice! Don't get me wrong, honestly, multiple choice is harder than short answers since you can bullshit your way through those, but multiple answers is just a fixed answer, and all the choices seem like they're correct.

The first part were the countries and physical features of both Asia and Europe. Easy, that was the first and only thing I really had to study on, since I absolutely sucked on geography. I already memorized it like the back of my hand (not anymore, I already forgot everything right after the exam) so I was able to get past that no problem.

After that was about the history of the Middle Ages, and then was about the rules of writing an essay. The last part, was super easy. I already knew about it since I was in lower school, and after the teacher went over it during class, I was going to ace this part.

I finished the test almost more than an hour earlier and even the supervisor was surprised at this. I was bored out of my mind after that though, since I forgot to bring a book when the teachers clearly told us to.

I had more than an hour to get through without doing anything, so I decided to sleep.

When there was only half an hour left, most the students already finished the exam. That included my friend Amy, who had 5 classes with me out of the 8 classes we have. She took out her notebook and started drawing, and I used sign language to ask her for a piece of paper as well without the teacher seeing.

Finally, finally, the exam was over. I was extremely relieved that I had made it through my first day of exams.

All my friends were ready to leave, as were most of the student body. That also included Natsume.

"You leaving?" I asked as I packed my bag that I left on the couch, something many others also did since we can't bring anything other than writing utensils into the classrooms.

"Yep," He answered as he stood next to me. "You?" I shook my head slowly as an answer.

"Doris is gonna tutor me on math." I told him and he nodded before turning to his friends.

After he left, I went to find Doris for the tutor session. Hopefully after she helps me, I'll be better on the math test.

The next day was very similar, but even better because Natsume started sitting right next to me.

On the fourth floor, the floor for us 9th graders to hang out, there are 8 main couches in all, and 2 coffee tables. 4 couches were put into a square, with the coffee table in the middle, and the other four right next to it, so basically it looked like two squares put together to form a rectangle. My friends usually sit onto one single couch, but I liked to sit on the one right next to them.

Usually, not many people sit next to me, but on the second day of exams, much to my surprise, Natsume sat on my right, and we were so close our arms were touching. Simon sat on my left, since there weren't any more rooms on the right next to Natsume.

"Did you study for english?" I asked him and he shook his head slightly.

"A little. Not really." Doris came over and handed me her notebook filled with the english vocabulary. For our exam, we had to know all 80 vocabulary words, since we didn't know which ones would be on the exam.

"Mikan! Test me, hurry." She demanded and I nodded before I started testing her on the vocabulary. She knew most of it, but some she forgot, much to my surprise. Next to me, Simon also asked me to test him.

As I tested him, Natsume joined in as well, but he was much, much worse at it. Simon wasn't that good either, which was another surprise since he always seemed to know everything.

That was how it went until the exam, and the rest of the day was quite normal, similar to the day before.

At the end of the day, I thought that for sure Natsume wouldn't talk to me. I was talking to another one of my friends, Feé. She's German, but she's lived in China for quite a while so she can speak fluent Chinese. She's not really good with Japanese, so it's quite hard for me to communicate with her, at least I can improve my Chinese with her.

As I was talking to her, suddenly Natsume called me from behind and gave me a smirk.

"That girl's so weird." He whispered to me and I sneaked a glance at her.

"No she's not." I argued back but he only snorted.

"Yeah she is. Whatever, I'm out of here." He grabbed his bag and waved me goodbye.

My last day of exams was pretty good as well. This boy sat next to me in the morning, and when Natsume came, he told him to move so he could sit next to me. I was so happy I would have started jumping and laughing like a maniac if no one was there.

My exam was in the afternoon, while the others all had theirs in the morning. Natsume hung out with me and chatted with me until the morning exam started; his exam.

I waited for 2 hours with nothing to do but play on my computer. At last, the exam ended and all the students came piling out. Happy that I finally didn't have to spend time alone, I closed my computer and waited for my friends.

Natsume came out and immediately took his bag.

"Alright then, I'm done." He grinned at me mockingly, since he knew I still have my exam. I stuck my tongue out at him as he left and he chuckled a little.

The exam went pretty well because and (please don't tell anyone) my supervisor gave me a few hints on the exam.

Finally, all my exams have ended and I am once again free from studying! Though my mom would probably nag about me not doing anything...

There was no need for me to go to school on monday, since there were only ESOL exams and I skipped Activities Day on tuesday since I thought it was stupid.

Wednesday was the first day of normal school, but since next week was winter break, the end of the first semester, and just finishing our exams, there wasn't much to do so in most classes we were just watching movies, playing games or having free time.

Natsume surprising sat next to me for those few days as well, and Simon followed suit as Natsume's good friend.

I always arrive earlier than most students, so I took out my phone and started playing games on it. Natsume was first to arrive, and when he did, he saw my phone.

Then you know what he did?

He fucking stole my phone.

My iPhone 6.

"Hey!" I screamed. "Give it back!" He put it out of my reach and examined it.

"What? You bought the gold one? Aw man, this one is so ugly." He stated and I fumed.

"I didn't buy that. My dad did!" I yelled and he scoffed. He opened my phone, and seeing my lock screen, he gave the phone back to me.

"Can you unlock it?" I narrowed my eyes at him, and though I knew it was stupid, I used my fingerprint to unlock my phone so he wouldn't see my password.

Right after I unlocked it, he took my phone again.

He kept complaining about my phone, how the color is ugly, how there isn't enough space and then he started looking at my photos.

"Give it back!" I demanded once again and tried to grab it with no avail.

"Shh. Calm down. I'm just looking." He scrolled through my pictures, laughing at some of them. Not to mention my phone was filled with selfies of my friends at the winter dance. (Their fault for stealing my phone and taking selfies.)

Simon came then and saw Natsume scrolling though my pictures so he took my phone from him.

Natsume didn't particularly care that Simon took my phone away from him, he could still see my screen anyways.

Natsume took out his laptop (I think it was a MacAir but I'm not so sure) and put it onto my lap as he continued searching through is bag.

"Can you help me open it?" He asked halfheartedly and I opened his computer only to see the lock screen. I stared at the screen blankly before glancing back at Natsume. He stopped rummaging through his bag and returned my gaze for a second.

He took his laptop back and typed in the password, looking through something before going back to laughing along with Simon on my pictures.

Giving me his laptop like that, I still don't really understand why he did that, and maybe it's just my desperate wishing, but I think maybe he trusted me enough to give his laptop.

For the next few days, until the winter break, it was the same routine. Him, sitting next to me, taking my phone, laughing at my pics.

My friends, mostly Nonoko, were not happy with Natsume and Simon seeing my pictures since many of those pictures included her.

I went on winter break with a smile on my face, thinking I was finally getting closer to Natsume again.

Then the first day back from winter break, I was told he asked out a girl named Riyah and that they were officially dating.

Not to mention Riyah was once a good friend of mine during 6th grade.

In the morning, I tried my very hardest not to look at him or acknowledge him, I wanted him to think I was not affected at all with what he does, but I still couldn't help sneaking a peak as I pretended to look past him.

His arm was wrapped around Riyah's shoulder as she lay on him, and my heart broke.

The last part was something I saw yesterday. I was pretty unhappy, but I pretended nothing was wrong. My best friends (Hotaru and Nonoko in this story) asked me if I was alright and I nodded with a smile, because honestly, I wasn't as hurt as I was supposed to be, but more hurt than I initially thought I would be. Ironic?

Don't know when I'll update again, and honestly I don't think I'll write about my jealousy because (though it sounds very mean) I doubt they're going to last long anyways. He's a playboy, and therefore none of his girlfriends lasts long.

Thank you to all of those who still follow this story even though there's a very little percentage of my updating. Alright, I'm gonna have to start updating my other story, Bite, now. Haven't updated in so long!

R&R Please!
