A/N: Okay. Hi guys and girls! Welcome back to my fic. It took a lot while for me to write this chapter and frankly, I blame the fight scenes and React Channel in youtube for the long, slow and arduous process. I have mixed feelings for the fight scenes cuz' honestly, it wasn't my forte. I excel in comedies and other craps like that. In the end, I think it was acceptable. Not perfect but acceptable.

I sincerely hope you guys think the same. The papers I spent to think it up.. There's a mountain of it in the corner of my room, waiting for my mom to find it and scream to me about it. Again, I was pleased to say that J.K Rowling could no longer contaminate my mind with her wands! Kudos to me! Now, Response to the reviews. As always, thank you for spending the time to read this and gives a review to it. That means a lot.

First, I have to agree at the comical humor in mistaking Danny as a New Ghost-type species. No promises for it ever happening, but I'll take it to consideration.

No, Anonymous, I am sorry but there will be no ghost whatsoever in here. It will destroy what plot I have thought and planned. Not even Box ghost and his stupid but loveable mumbo jumbo.

I love cute, cuddly animals. I love Riptide. I try to make his character as little innocent child who doesn't understand too much things in the world, for now. And of course, every cute character needs a loving parental figure to complete the match-up. I hope I potrayed him correctly in this chapter. Spoilers: Mention of Happy Tree Friends. If you know what that is.

Thank you so much, Pegasus. Another Spoiler: yes, Leo does have a Fossil. ANNOUCEMENT to all, I'm letting you choose the Fossil that Leo will ressurect. I have a poll up and ready. Check it up! By the way, I was actually thinking of Scorupi. But really, I am still thinking if Poison-type is gonna be in his team or not. Nidoking does seem like a good fighter.

I will give some explanations to MoonWolfArtemis and those others in the future who might want to give a suggestion for Danny's team. First, I gave each of the Important character's team (I.e Danny, Leo, Lily and other characters that might pop up in the future.) a theme for their team. Danny's theme is Fearsome. Most of his Pokemon are scary and intimidating at first glance, but they're nice in actuality. Leo's was Speed while Lily's was Elegance.

But I am seriously weighing the merit of having Misdreavus in comparison to Rotom. They're both tied right now. Misdreavus is like Sam while Rotom is similar to Tucker. Both are close friends of Danny's. Indecisions, Indecisions...

As for fighting and defeating Ash in a Battle, We will have to see. Ash has experience while Danny has the mindset for battle. It's hard decisions.

Well, That'd be all for now. Thank you again for reviewing and don't forget to check out the poll! Enjoy the fic!

Chapter 6

Leo walked happily with a spring on his steps, whistling a nameless merry tune he made up on spot. A flicker of movement appeared on the edge of his vision, signifying that Grovyle was tailing him from the rooftops causing him to released a small uncharacteristic sigh. Honestly, why was he so obsessed with ninjas? Yes they're cool and yes they're baddass, but was it too much to just accompany him down the road?

His exasperation changed back to his earlier mood almost instantly as the museum building came to view. With another skip and spring in his steps, the Hoenn native made a beeline to the gate of the building and pushed open said gates with all the grace of a rampaging Hippowdon. Translation: Pushed the door off its hinges.

"Oops.." He muttered to himself, cringing at the thought of paying for the property damage. But then, his eyes shone with childish excitement as he laid his gaze on the famous ressurection machine and proceeded to blatantly ignore the damage he caused while making his way happily to the counter.

"Er.. Kid, you gotta pay for that do-" Its unfortunate, but Leo was deadset on getting to the old man behind the counter to get a certain something off his bag and into one of his Pokeball. A security guard wasn't going to hold him down. Not now, or ever.

"Grovyle." He called cheerfully. Silently, like a trained assassin, Grovyle jumped down from the ceiling and dropped soundlessly behind the security guard before giving him a hard chop behind the neck, knocking the man out. The green lizard-like Pokemon gave a thumbs up at his trainer, which Leo mirrored.

Yep! Ninjas are awesome!

"Uhm.. Can I help you?" The old man behind the counter asked warily, eyeing the Hoenn Grass-type starter carefully as the Pokemon trailed dilently behind its trainer like a second shadow.

Oblivious to the old man's fear and wariness, Leo beamed brightly, eyes practically sparkling with childish excitement. "Yep." He said, nodding rapidly while popping the P with his tongue. "Can I have a fossil ressurected? I got it right here, somewhere.." He trailed off as he ransacked his backpack in search for the ancient stone.

Behind him, Grovyle narrowed his eyes at him and pointed at the man then at Leo and nodded his head before moving his fingers across his neck as if slitting it open. The message was clear: Go along, or you're dead.

"C-certainly." The old man said fearfully, trying to ignore the piercing stare of the lizard.

Leo was positively giddy, stars and glitters sparkling around him as he beamed at the old man, offering him the fossil stone as if it was some kind of priced treasure. "Thank you, sir!" He smiled.

Behind him, Grovyle nodded, satisfied that he pleased his trainer.

With Danny..

"So.. this is the Gym, huh?" Danny wondered aloud as he eyed the brown roof-ed building with contemplative eyes. "Hm.. Roark the rock. Cheesy much?" He wondered sarcastically. Now that he thinks about it, the people in this world seems to have some form of fetish for cheesy catchphrase or title along with crazy hair color. Was it perhaps genetic?

::Roark likes cheese?:: Riptide asked from his spot on his shoulder, tilting his head to the side as a sign of confusion.

Danny pulled himself out of his musings and laughed at the small adorable water type on his shoulder before depositing him to his hands, patting his head softly as a sign of affection. "Don't ever grow up, Riptide." He muttered to himself, enjoying the purr he made at the physical contact. "Well, no use standing here all day! Let's go in and win this gym!" He said determinedly.

::Daddy Fight!:: Riptide cheered, raising both his tiny hands int the air as he waved an imaginary flag.

With a smile on both of their faces, Danny and Riptide proceeded to walk into the Gym building. With a confident smile on his face, Danny made his way through the long hall before finally reaching the end where a wide arena was placed. The floor was made of soil while rocks and boulders littered around haphazardly all over the place. There, standing calmly on the other end, is Roark the Gym Leader.

Roark was a guy in his late teen with cordovan colored hair and eyes. He has slightly tanned skin and lean muscled built, a result of his occupation as a miner. He wears a black shirt under a grey golden rimmed mining jacket and a pair of mining trousers of the same color scheme tucked into his black boots. He also wears a pair of black rimmed eyeglasses and a red mining hat on his head.

"Hello. I'm Roark, the Gym Leader of Oreburgh, the first Gym in Sinnoh league circuit. Are you here to challenge me?" He asked.

Danny nooded his head. "Yeah. I am Danny from Sandgem Town, I'm here to challenge you for your badge!" He replied confidently.

"I see. Well, my secretary's out on an extended holiday so we'll not have a referee for this match, is that fine with you?" Danny nodded, that was just alright for him. "Okay then. The battle's three on three and no switching out, is that fine?" Another nod from Danny. "Very well, let's start. Go, Geodude!" With that, Roark threw one of his Pokeball into the air, releasing Geodude in a flash of white light.

"Watch and learn 'kay?" He whispered to the water type in his hand who nodded his head vigorously in excitement. "Come on out, Torch!" Danny threw his own Pokeball to the air where it popped open and released the mighty Houndoom in a flash of white light. Torch threw his head back and howled, the eerie sound echoing through the Gym walls creating some sort of haunting melody.

"He looks like a strong and well-cared Houndoom." Roark nodded his head approvingly at Danny, satisfied that his new challenger was nothing like a certain trainer with a fifteen meter iron pole up his ass. "Hate to tell this to you, but Fire-Type is at a disadvantage with Rock-type. You sure not gonna change your mind?" He asked.

"Type isn't all that matters in a battle." Danny said, earning himself a nod from the Gym leader. "I'm gonna start this round. Torch, start things up with Iron Claw!" He ordered.

Torch barked an affirmative before throwing himself to the battle. The Houndoom dashed fast across the field, closing the distance within the count of seconds before lengthening his claws into three veritable blades and began slashing, thrusting and hacking at the enemy Geodude as he tried to inflict as much damage as possible to the Rock-type. Geodude was forced to go on the defensive in front of the barrage of berserk slashes, wincing each time he parried or blocked the steely blade-like claws.

Roark quickly collected himself from his shock-induced petrification and barked his order, trying to salvage the fight and turn the tables against his challenger. "Geodude, use Smack Down!" He ordered.

All to eager to push back the assault, Geodude blocked another slash send his way, wincing silently as the Steel-Type move clashed with his arm before throwing the claws away from him and sending a strong punch to the Houndoom's chest, throwing the canine back and away from him.

Torch coughed in slight pain, feeling his chest throb painfully at the damage done to him by the punch. He growled menacingly, eyeing the tense form of his foe with flaming eyes, promising vengeance and a whole world of pain. And burns. Yeah, that sounded perfect.

"Torch, ya fine there, bud?" Danny asked, concerned.

::Compared to the Round Ass' Headbut-:: The Pokeball in his hip shook angrily causing a victorious smirk to appear on the Houndoom. ::This was tame. Don't worry Danny, I've fallen from a cliff before, this is nothing.:: He assured.

Danny laughed nervously at the reminder of the event. "I guess." He trailed off. "Alright then, Use Iron Claw and Crunch!" He ordered.

Torch grinned a predatory grin as he spread his legs apart, muscle tense in preparation of another frontal assault. With a loud howl, the black dog threw himself towards the Geodude, the ground cracking at the strength of his feet. He stretched his front legs, claws once again lengthening into blades while his fangs grew longer and sharper, his jaws opening in preparation of an attack.

"Geodude, move and counter-attack!" Roark ordered.

Geodude used his hands to throw himself away, successfully dodging a violent slash of the Houndoom's claws. Letting the gravity work its magic, Geodude fell back down to the grounds, arms thrown back and cocked ready to deliver a mean punch to the face.

"Move back and Dodge that!" Danny said, effectively stopping Torch's foolhardy attempt to block the attack with his claws. He sighed a sigh of relieve as Torch moved back in the nick of time, successfully dodging the powerful punch that cracked the ground and creating fissures left and right.

"Geodude use Rock Throw!" Roark ordered, stopping Danny from issuing another command to attack.

Geodude hastened to obey, grabbing rocks of all size around him and using it as a makeshift bullet Ammo to throw at the Houndoom. Torch moved around swiftly, dodging and swerving around the rock bullets send his way with relative ease that belied his stiff and muscular form. In a desperate attempt of counter-attack, Torch opened his maw and let loose a salvo of tiny fiery bullets while simultaneously dodging the bullets send his way.

Roark eyed the battlefield with critical eye, both cordovan orbs glinting with barely concealed battle-lust behind his glasses. His eyes roamed around, taking in the form of his roughed up Geodude and the not-even exhausted form of his challenger's Houndoom before moving over to the boulders strategically placed right beside his Geodude and behind the Houndoom.

Perfect.

"Geodude, throw that boulder!" He ordered.

Geodude nodded, throwing several more rocks and pebbles to give the Houndoom no chance of respite before grabbing the giant boulder beside him. With a loud grunt of effort, mucles visibly bulging and straining despite the imposibility of it, Geodude hefted the large boulder up into the air before throwing it away into the gobsmacked Houndoom.

::Oh shit!:: Torch cursed. Danny just nodded numbly, unsure if there's any better word to use to describe the situation. Deciding to take a risk and gamble the battle, Danny issued an order at his first partner, hoping that his decision would save the Houndoom from being burried under a giant boulder and die a foolish death.

Museum, Leo...

*Kabooom!*

A light tremor rocked the ground while an explosive sound echoed through the calm afternoon. Leo cocked his head to the side, wondering what might have caused the city-wide disturbance. Turning to the side, he saw that Grovyle had the same look of confusion and slight wariness. Figures, the grass type is always proffesional.

He was disturbed from his personal musings when a loud 'ding' sounded through the Museum building. As quick as lightning, or possibly even quicker, Leo broke into an excited dance, hopping and dashing all around the place in excitement.

"Its here! It's here! It's here! It's here!" He chanted happily, all the while skipping around the large room happily. "My first ever Fossil Pokemon!" He cheered.

Grovyle stood silently to the side, a small, almost inaudible, snicker rolled out of his throat as a fleeting smirk of amusement appeared on his usually cool and impassive face. He wondered in the back of his mind what kind of ancient Pokemon his Trainer was reviving from beyond the grave, was it one of the two native of Sinnoh? Or was it one of the Hoenn's?

He was sparred from further suspense and curiosity as the old man he'd threatened before appeared from behind the closed door to the reviving machine's chamber, a single Pokeball clutched in his old wrinkly hands.

"Here it is." He declared, shoving the Pokeball to the starry eyed Leo who was now drooling from excitement. "The revival is successful. Congratulations, you get yourself a-"

Gym Building, Danny..

"I think this round goes to me, wouldn't you agree?" Roark asked, eyeing the boulder and the slowly clearing cloud of dust critically.

Danny gave no reply, instead he just grinned confidently. "Now, Torch! Sucker punch him with Iron claw!" The Houndoom bursted out of the ground at his order, having tunelled underground to safe himself from the thrown boulder and immediately send a sucker punch at Geodude with his Iron claw, throwing the Rock-type up into tha air.

"Follow up with Iron Claw Barrage!"

Torch gathered strength to his legs, before propelling himself up into the air, the ground once again littered with spider-web cracks at the force of his leap. Claws once again lengthening into three pairs of blades, Torch engaged the airbourne Rock-type in a close quater aerial combat.

With nothing but his arms to defend himself, Geodude tried to send punches and jabs at Torch, hoping to delay his attacks until they landed back on ground. His attempts failed with spectacular results. With the ferocity of a hungry wolf, Toch opened his jaws and seized the offending limb, trapping it and locking its movement with his fangs, slowly and painfully munching on it, causing Geodude to scream in pain.

Torch capitalized on his lack of focus by raising his paws and releasing three consecutive slash at Geodude, earning another pained scream that would no doubt cost the weak in the heart a wince. Unfortunately, he was not weak in the heart and so remained unaffected. Several other slashes joined their predecessors before Houndoom released his hold on his limb, opened his mouth wide and released a large stream of fire right on Geodude's face. The blast send him down into the ground in a spectacular explosion of dust and fire.

Geodude was already unconscious by the time he hit the ground.

With a sigh, Roark pulled out his Pokeball and absorbed Geodude back into its sphere to rest. "Good job buddy." He praised silently. The Gym leader turned back to face his opponent, a new Pokeball on his grip. "Are you ready for the second round?" At Danny's nod, he threw his Pokeball into the air where it popped open to release the Pokemon inside.

"Go! Crush him, Onix!"

Danny looked up, mouth agape in silent shock, as he beheld the massive form of the colossal serpent made out of interlinking boulders in front of him. He gulped, suddenly he felt really scared for Torch. Robotically, he moved his hands to plug Riptide's ear before uttering a single word. "Fuck." He cursed.

"I hope you're not too intimidated with my Onix. He might look scary but he is actually a big softie. Mostly." Roark tried to reassure him, but oddly it didn't do much.

'Alright, He isn't scary. He is a big softie. A big softie. A big fluffy softie. A big lovable fluffly soft-'

At that moment, Onix decided to roar his earthshaking battlecry, urging Danny and his Trainer to get going and stop dilly-dallying.

'Who am I kidding!? He isn't soft! He's made out of rock for christ's sake!' Danny screamed mentally.

"Alright, alright. You pushy guy. I'll start the second round." Roark announced, raising the curtain for the second round of the battle. "Onix, Iron Tail!" Roark ordered.

The giant rock snake raised his tail up high where it glinted menacingly under the light of the lamp, looking very much like a metal batton ready to crush and bludgeon all living creations to death. After what felt like eternity, which was only five seconds in reality, Onix brought down his tail like a judge hammering an execution.

"Move back!" Danny all but screamed the order.

The giant metal bat that was Onix's tail came down hard, causing another small but significantly bigger than the previous tremor caused by Geodude's boulder throw. A giant cloud of dust rose into the air as the tail slithered back towards its owner, causing Danny to caugh uncontrollably. Without even giving a chance to regain his bearing, Onix brought his tail down once more, slamming it into the spot where Torch was standing.

Torch hurriedly jumped to the side, dodging the giant tail as it came crashing down on him. What he didn't expect, however, was to have said tail chasing him through the arena, reducing most of the boulders and rocks scattered around the arena into nothing but pebbles and rubbles. The battle immediately turned into a twisted game of cat and mouse where Torch has to save himself from getting flattened by Onix's tail.

'Torch's tiring out! Sooner or later he will get flattened by that tail!' Danny thought apprehensively to himself. Once again, he made a split-second decision and gambled with his luck. "Jump backwards and then use Hyper Beam!" Torch jumped backwards, dodging the tail which was coming to crush him. At the speed it was moving, Onix was unable to turn the tail back which leaves it with no choice but to either move on or stop. Obviously, Onix stopped.

"Match it with your own Hyper Beam!"

Both Pokemon stood still, mouth open as they gathered energy to fire their beams. In no time, two rays of destructive energy flew through the air and crashed onto each other, pushing for dominance.

"Drop the beam and use Protect! Now!" Danny ordered urgently.

Sensing the urgency in his voice, Torch merely nodded and did as he was told. He closed his mouth and created a shimmering, almost invisible, barrier around himself just in time as the beam crashed into his form followed by a crushing strike from Onix's Iron Tail. Torch gritted his fangs, trying to hold the barrier from shattering.

He barely succeeded.

The Iron Tail slithered back to Onix while the beam slowly decreased in its intensity before stopping altogether. Danny sagged his shoulder in relief, trouble momentarily averted. "Torch, you okay there bud?"

::I'm just surviving a Hyper beam and a giant overpowered Iron Tail to the face. Do the math.:: He snarked.

"You're okay." Danny deadpanned. As long as he has the enrgy to banter and snark at him, then he was fine.

::What part of me looks okay to you!?:: He roared, temporary forgetting the existence of Roark and Onix. ::Look at my back armor! It's cracked! CRACKED!:: He screamed as he turned around, showing Danny his cracked rib-like armor.

"Its just a crack. A little glue should do the trick." He nodded to himself, completely and utterly assured.

::Why you little-:: He was unable to complete his sentence as he was forced to jump away to avoid getting crushed by another Iron Tail courtesy of Onix. ::Oi! Don't interrupt when somebody's speaking! Don't your Papa and Mama ever taught you manners!?" He roared before shutting himself up immediately, as if realizing a grave mistake he made. ::Right. Your parents are stones.. Shouldn't expect too much out of it.:: He said.

::Grr.. Just for that, I'm going to crush you extra hard.:: The rock snake growled angrily and he began to thrash and whip his glowing tail around in a vicious attempt to crush the Houndoom.

::If this isn't extra hard, I wonder what its gonna be like.:: He mumbled sarcastically.

"Onix, use Dragon Breath!" Roark ordered.

"Dodge it and blast him with Rapid fire Shadow Ball!" Danny admitted that he might be doing a massive plagiarism and he really hoped that Lily didn't mind him taking her original modification technique, but it was so damn useful and he couldn't resist trying to teach Torch how to do it. Should he pay her a copyright fee?

Onix released a stream of purple fire from his mouth, scorching the earth with its heat. Torch, with all his speed training, was easily dodging the stream of draconic fire. Simultaneously, he gathered a huge amount of dark ghostly energy in his mouth, compressing it into a ball before shooting it off bit by bit. This is the butchered version of Lily's rapid fire Shadow Ball. A bit crude, but works all the same.

The stream of purple fire faltered as Onix reeled himself back in pain, his head being the most common target of the spheres of destructive dark matter. Torch smothered down his stupid urge to taunt the giant rock snake and instead focusing himself in gathering more of the ghostly power to shoot of another barrage of Shadow Balls.

Suddenly, much to everyone's shock, the door was blasted off its hinges with a loud bang. All activities stopped at that instant. Onix ceased his Dragon Breath and the collected dark matter swirling inside Torch's mouth dissipated into black mist, both Pokemon looked like a deer in the headlights. All eyes stared blankly at the figure in black and red with spiky red hair and golden eyes, walking with a skip on his steps while whistling an innocent tune.

"Yo! Did I miss something?" Leo asked happily, as innocent as a newborn baby. "Hey Chibi Blue!" Leo flashed a cheerful grin at Riptide as he jumped off of Danny's hand and to the redhead's chest.

::Uncle Red!:: Riptide cheered. ::You missed a battle! It was so cool! Like Whoosh and Bam! and.. and..:: The two proceeded to enter their own personal world, conveniently ignoring everyone else at the moment as they chatted.

Leo should thank his lucky stars, Danny thought with a sweatdrop. It was only because of Riptide that he was save from Torch's wrath. He turned to the side to see the Houndoom glaring at the redhead trainer with a positively murderous look on his face, small embers cracking from his gritted fangs while a dark heavy aura hung around him like a cloak of death. Yep.. Positively murderous.

Torch huffed and turned to the side, choosing instead to focus on Onix just in case the giant snake planned on giving him a sneak attack. He was right in his assumption but unfortunately he was too late to react.

A loud smack echoed through the arena as Onix's Iron Tail connected to Torch's side, sending him careening, no, the correct word would be flying, to the far end of the arena and into the wall. Onix continued his assault as he used his tail to pick the stuck Houndoom and throw him all around the arena like a ragdoll.

Danny winced sharply at the sight, even Leo and Riptide stopped their cuddly moment to share a wince. Or in Riptide's case, muttering a silent hurtful 'Owwiee' to show his sympathy for the poor Fire-type.

For his part, Roark just gave his Onix a long dry look. Honestly, he could be so vindictive and violent sometimes.

::When I imagined myself in a battle-:: Torch began, his voice sounded hoarse and pained, overall he sounded like a tortured bunny. ::-I always thought that i would get attacked in some dramatic or at least cool way. I never expected that I will get slapped by a giant rock tail.:: He groaned, stumbling and swaying as he tried to get himself back to his feet.

::Danny, I think my lungs just popped.:: He complained deliriously.

"If that was true you'd die right now." Danny said, trying to lead him to the logical part of the world and away from his delusional mind. "Torch, you're delirious. Snap out of it!" He said.

::Does your lung pop like bubblegums?:: Riptide asked innocently, tilting his head to the side in a show of confusion that did nothing but emphasize his innocent little mind.

That question oddly reminded Danny of that innocent looking but really gory cartoon. What was that again? Happy Tree Friends or something?

::Like little bubbles.:: Danny wasn't so sure whether Torch was being his usual snarky charming self, he was humoring Riptide's childish antics or he was still delirious. It looked like a healthy combination of all three posibilities, to be honest.

Apparently, Onix wasn't done with his revenge about the slight made against his less-than-questionable parentage and decided to take matters into his own metaphorical hands by coiling himself around the still dazed and delirious Torch before choking the ever living daylight out of him.

Torch made a choking noise that sounded vaguely like a combination of a dying mouse and a screeching tire. His cheeks comically bulged out as the air was forced out of his lung ("Really, it doesn't explode!"- Danny.) and into his mouth. His eyes somehow bulged out as well and together with his cheeks, he made a perfect canine replica of Bugs Bunny.

::Uuu~ Chubby!:: Riptide laughed in the backgorund, pointing at the suffering Houndoom with childishly ignorant delight.

"I don't think it was such a good time for a commentary, Lil' Champ." Danny muttered with a sweatdrop trailing behind his head. If it was any other time, this might actually look comical and hilarious, what with Torch's Bugs Bunny face and stupidly flailing limb choked by Onix who was currently boasting his evil laugh and Riptide's childish giggles echoing in the background.

*Booom!

"..Torch just exploded." Leo suggested, a hint of shock coloring his voice. "Was that like, I don't know, suicide?"

::His lungs popped!:: Riptide supplied clapping his hands at the awesome fireworks show.

"I think he just used a botched version of Inferno." Danny guessed. "Maybe his lungs really does pop in his ribcage or something." He muttered worriedly. "I will pay a visit to Nurse Joy again later." He nodded, decisions made.

Danny pulled his Pokeball to absorb back the unconscious Houndoom. He winced and thanked him for his effort, even if said effort brought him second to third degree burns all over his body. Looking back, Onix suffered just as much as Torch. Most of his body sported cracks and massive burn marks you'd see when someone set several grade 2 bombs on a brick wall.

"Well.. Let's start again." Danny breathed out. "Come on out, Gale!"
