A/N: Hi, everyone! I'm back yet again here on Trainer: Phantom! So.. Well, it's kinda quick huh? Oh well, I figured that I had planned this chapter pretty well. Pulling all nighters to write some parts paid off, I guess. Originally, I had wanted to include Leo's fight in this chapter but.. Oh, well. That will be on the next chapter! Hopefully, I could get the whole three rounds in the next chapter.

On a side note, I'm really happy guys! I'm finally piercing the one hundred count for Followers! While the Favorite was a bit lower.. Meh. I can always improve. On another matter entirely, the Poll's closed guys! The winner of the Poll is Kabuto! The lucky Pokemon will have a spot for him in Leo's team! Applause for the little Horse shoe crab!

Thank you for reviewing everyone! It means a lot to me, as usual. I noticed that most of the review is response, so I'll say thank you and consider everything you all said to me.

Oh. PhantomSpirit, I don't have a Beta yet. Unfortunately, I also don't know how to choose or assign someone as my Beta. So.. well, if you don't mind, please be my Beta :)

Special thanks of Pegasus Sword Master and the response he gave for every chapter! It's really enlightening. And I'm trying to imagine the fight scenes for later. Ugh, i'm having a severe case of anneurism.

Well, that concludes this little note! Enjoy the purely battle oriented chapter guys!

Chapter 7

"Err... A Starly?" Roark asked incredulously as he eyed the Flying-type who innocently flew around his Trainer. "Not that I'm doubting you or your choice in Pokemon, but.. Really? A Starly? Of all possible Pokemon to pit against an Onix, you choose a Starly?" Off to the side, said Flying-type chirped indignantly, probably feeling insulted at his word.

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean!? Gale is strong, so don't understimate him!" Danny chided indignantly, feeling insulted for the little Flying-type.

"Oh.. My bad! Sorry." Roark gave a quick apology at what his words insinuated. "Anyway, you may start his round." He said, a hand offered in a gesture to start the round.

"Alright. Gale, start this with Steel Wing!" He ordered.

::Okkie Dokie!:: Gale chirped with a salute before shooting off into the air, circling the giant stone serpent in search for a possible weak point to strike. Once found, Gale screeched loudly before making a sharp turn and a nosedive, wings glowing a steely glow as it sliced through the air. The Starly swerved to the side in a show of aerial prowess as he dodged Onix' haphazardly whipping tail.

The rock serpent writhed his body, twisting and bending around in an attempt of depriving the flying type of his target, but that didn't bother Gale as much as Onix wanted it to be. Another swerve to the side saved the Flying-type from the fate of getting crushed by several tons of rock and simultaneously allowed him to trace a deep gash on Onix using his Steel Wing.

Onix reared his head back and roared in pain as the super effective move continued to inflict damage to his body, tracing a long line across the boulders that made up his build. Gale chirped happily as the serpent twisted around in his pain-induced haze, exposing the spot where Torch had applied the second degree burn, still black, red and smoking.

A Burn. Weak Spot. Target.

A blood-curdling roar echoed through the arena as Gale slashed his Steel Wings repeatedly on the burned part of his body. Disturbingly enough, Gale began to laugh gleefully, throwing his head back and let loose a chilling evil laugh not out of place in Batman movies while repeatedly slamming his wings along the injured parts of Onix.

::This is so much fun!:: He laughed. ::It's almost therapeutic! Like sledgehammering a particularly stubborn brick!:: He described vividly, still in his euphoric state.

"Onix stop him with Dragon Breath!" Roark ordered, finally breaking out of his shock. Danny couldn't fault him for it though, he was also shocked at seeing the more sadistic side to his chipper Starly.

"Gale, get away form him! Afterwards use Swift Assault!" He ordered.

::Gotcha!:: Gale replied, returning back to his usual chipper self.

::Die!:: Onix roared, breathing out a pillar of purplish fire from his mouth. It was too late for him as Gale had broke contact with him and hurridely flew away to a safe distance, avoiding the range of the purplish draconic flames. ::You're not getting away!:: He roared angrily before throwing himself upwards in an attempt to reach the Flying-type, breathing purple flames all the while.

Gale started to freak out as he saw the giant not-so-amused serpent heading towards him. With panic, he flew to up higher, narrowly avoiding a pillar of flame heading his way.

"You know it'd probably be so much easier if you just swerve to the side." Leo absently commented from the sidelines as he occupied himself by waving around a strip of catnip in front of Riptide who tried to take it from him like a little kitten.

The battle once again stopped for a while as everyone processed what the redhead said. Gale chirped from his spot above their heads in a sad and sorrowful tone. ::The world is coming to an end..:: He commented, but ultimately, he decided to take heed of his suggestion and flew off to the side, avoiding the reach of the gigantic serpent's stream of purple fire.

Realizing that Onix had stopped his fiery assault, Gale flew up high into the air. Once reaching the peak of his flight, Gale folded his wings and let the gravity work its wonder on him.

Onix, seeing his chance, propelled himself once again into the air and prepared to fry the little Starly to death.

"Now!" Both Danny and Roark called out simultaneously. "Do it!"

Gale was enveloped in a soft pink glow before he blurred away in a burst of speed and moved to the side, avoiding the pillar of purple flames sent his away by mere centimeters. He took some pleasure by witnessing the shocked widening of Onix eyes before his body was enveloped in the white glow of Quick Attack. The speed boost gained from Agility, coupled with the boost from Quick Attack turned the Starly into a literal white streaks of light.

He zoomed around randomly for a while, trying to get himself used to the speed he was moving at and prevent a tunnel vision from occuring. Then, when he was sure, he turned and dived down, wings once again glowing a steely grey in preparation of dealing a severe ass whooping.

Hundreds of cracking noise sounded through the arena as Gale performed the Swift Assault Combo, striking various part of Onix with his Steel Wing while appearing as nothing more than a streak of white light which zoomed all around the place. By the time he finished, Onix was sporting hundreds of gashes all across his body. Wounded and battered, but he was still standing tall and conscious.

::Well, Damn!:: Gale huffed, out of breath from the high speed constant assault he just performed. ::Can't you just drop dead or something?::

::Like..*huff*.. Hell:: Onix huffed in a similar way. ::You're good.. *huff*::

::Likewise.:: Gale responded out of courtesy.

::Hehe..:: A small grin broke from Onix' face.

::Hahaha..:: Gale grinned back, a small chuckle erupting from his throat.

Danny, Roark and Leo switched looks with each other as they eyed the fighting Pokemon who simultaneously broke into gleeful laughter, wondering if the accumulated stress and damage finally snapped their sanity. Danny opened his mouth to inquire about his partner's mental stability before suddenly both Pokemon shot off, Iron Tail and Steel Wing clashing against one another.

With a flick of his tail, Onix send the Starly away and broke off their clash. Opening his jaws, Onix shot off a barrage of greyish sphere of energy towards Gale. Similarly, the Flying-type send out a couple of wind blades to neutralize the projectiles.

"Gale! Good job, buddy! Use Roost!" Danny ordered.

Gale nodded wordlessly before landing and spreading his wings, hiding his body behind it as he rested, glowing a soft blue light while his feathers ruffled and his fatigue slowly disappeared.

"Damn! Onix, Gyro Ball! Don't let him finish Roost!" Roark ordered urgently.

Onix opened his mouth and shot another barrage of silver energy spheres at Gale. The Starly broke the technique and flew up, already feeling suffieciently rested and escaped the explosions that followed as the Gyro Balls hit their marks.

::Can't a guy have some rest?:: He complained.

"Apparently not." Danny responded from his spot. "Gale another Steel Wing! Hit him hard!"

"Not so fast! Onix, Harden and counter it with Iron Tail!" Roark ordered.

In a flash, both Pokemon was once again locked in a clash of steel, struggling to assert dominance against one another. Gale slashes his wings as Onix whipped his Hardened Iron Tail, determined to not get thrown off again. He wasn't prepared when instead of slamming his tail on him, Onix coiled his tail around him and squeezed hard.

"Nice, Onix!" Roark gave the giant rock serpent a thumbs up. "Now, Smack Down!" He ordered.

"Quick! Use Roost!" Danny ordered.

Onix slammed his tail along with the bound Starly to the ground with brutal force, trying to overpower the healing power of Roost. For each damage he did, Roost repaired it just as much. Again and again the process repeated itself before the rock serpent deigned it acceptable to stop the brutal beating.

Danny chewed on his bottom lip hard enough to draw blood as he waited for the dust to settle and Onix to raise his tail, hoping against all hope that the Starly was okay and not turning into some deformed lump of meat. He relased an explosive sigh of relieve when Onix raise his tail to reveal a battered but alive and conscious Gale.

::Uugh..:: The bird groaned. ::Someone stop the Donphan that ran me through..:: He said.

"Does your Onix enjoy causing head damage to his foes?" Danny asked annoyedly at Roark.

"I think it's on the job description. Or maybe it's genetic?" Roark asked himself in the classic thinking position. He then shrugged, dropping the topic entirely to focus on the fight. "Onix, use Dragon Breath and finish him!" Roark ordered.

"Gale, try to break free!" Danny ordered panickedly.

::Uuuurgh...It's not working! He loves me too much to let me go!:: Gale chirped as he tried to break free from his bindings. Suddenly, as if coming to a sort of shocking revelation, the Flying-type gasped before shooting the Rock-type an accusatory look. ::So you were gay! Sorry.. bud, but I don't swing that way.:: He looked away as he delivered his apology.

The purple flames inside Onix' mouth disappeared as the snake serpent blinked in incredulous shock and deliberately losing his focus. As the words settled in his brain, Onix reeled his head back in shock before releasing a loud roar of outrage for his wounded pride.

Danny's eye twitched, feeling torn between clapping at the ingenious distraction plan or feeling incredulous at the impossibility of it all.

The rock serpent began to tighten his hold on the little bird eliciting a loud chocked up gagging noise from the Starly. ::Blasphemy! Slander! Buuuuuurn!:: Rage burned in his eyes just as hot as the pillar of flames he breathed out.

"Gale!" Danny and Leo cried out, fearing what sight they would see after the flame dispersed.

Their fear was unfounded, however, as a bright light shone through the stream of purple flames. The flames stopped as Onix closed his eyes and turned his head to the side to cover against the bright light. When the light faded, the Starly was nowhere to be seen. All there is in the Onix' clutches was the form of a Staravia.

Staravia is a grayish-brown, avian Pokémon with black and white markings. Its head and upper body are primarily black with an "M"-shaped pattern over its white chest. On its forehead is a grayish-brown spot, which is smaller on the female. On its face is a white, mask-like marking with a pattern of spikes along the lower edge. It has small, black eyes with white pupils and a long, orange beak with a black tip. On the back of its head is a long tuft of feathers, which curves forward. The lower halves of its wings are black, and it has black tail feathers with a single white feather in the center. Its orange feet have black talons.

"He.. Evolved." Roark said, amazed.

"W-woah.." Danny, Leo and Riptide marvelled at the sight before Danny pulled out his black and white Pokedex and aimed it at Gale.

"Staravia, the Starling Pokemon." The synthesized voice of the Pokedex spoke. "The Evolved form of Starly. Staravia flies over forests and fields, and travels in large flocks."He, or perhaps It, continued. "This Starly is Lv. 15 with the ability Intimidate. It knows the move: Tackle, Screech, Quick Attack, Wing Attack, Steel Wing, Aerial Ace, Agility, Whirlwind, Peck, Double team, Roost, Take Down, Thief and Retaliate."

"Awesome! You finally evolved, Gale! Congrats!" Danny cheered happily.

::While yes, I evolved, I don't see anything remotely good about my situation.:: Then, as if to prove his point, Onix added another force on his hold and started another round of squeezing.

"Gotta change that, then." Danny nodded to himself. "Right, Gale, use Steel Wing and try to push Onix back!"

Complying with his trainer, Gale, for the umpteenth time today, activated the Steel Wing and tried to push back his restrains. With a creaking noise similar to that of an unstable bridge, Onix boulder-made body started to loosen around the newly evolved Staravia's body.

::You're not getting away..:: Onix grunted as he tried to press harder on the Staravia.

::Heave.. Ho!:: Gale cheered for himself as he added more effort and strength to his wings. After a long arduous battle of strength and willpower, Gale managed to create a gap large enough for him to slip through and flew off, whooping in the air as he rejoiced over his newfound freedom.

"Alright! Gale, another Swift Assault!" Danny said.

"Onix, Harden!" Roark quickly ordered.

Onix's body glinted in the light, hardening just in time to strengthen its body against the first wave of Steel Wing strikes the speed of bullets. Once again, Gale turned to nothing more than a streak of white light, speeding all around the place as he rammed his Steel Wings to the rock serpent, trying hard to leave a mark on his hardened body.

"Onix, use Dig!"

Damn, he realized it! Danny thought as Onix tunneled underground disappearing from view in a giant eruption of dust and pebbles, leaving nothing but a giant hole in his wake. After using Swift Assault, Gale would enter a small period of recuperation time where he would be much much slower and weaker than usual. So, in other words, he forcing Gale to enter the recuperation state by hiding Onix underground!

Smart.. Danny admitted to himself. -And vexing. He added.

"Now what will you do?" Roark asked with a strangely expectant tone in his voice. Was he waiting for a chance to strike from bellow? "I hope you're not running out of strategies. This is the most fun I've had in a while and I'd hate it if it were to end so quickly." He explained.

Danny gritted his teeth. "..Who knows." I'll be damned before I admitted that I ran out of possible tricks to use.

"Look, Chibi! Your dad's frustrated!" Leo laughed, pointing at me.

::Frus-whatchamacallit?:: Riptide tilted his head to the side at the difficult vocabulary.

"Remind me to teach him more vocabulary later." I called out to the happy go lucky redhead.

"Got it!" He replied before resuming his made-on-spot game with Riptide.

Suddenly, with a loud rumble, the earth shattered and burst out as Onix came propelling upwards to the air like a speeding train. A speeding train with a giant gaping jaw, ready to snatch and swallow the tender soft flesh of little birds out of the sky. With a squawk of shock, Gale tried to move to the side to avoid his tackle, but it was all in vain as he was still in the recuperation state and thus, slow.

He was plastered in a manner similar to Tom and Jerry classics into the wall. Amusing.

::Was that a Hippowdon? Or was it a Donphan?:: Gale muttered in a bout of pain-induced delusion. ::I feel like i was just hit by a Mach 2 warcraft.:: He moaned. Danny raked his head, wondering what a Mach 2 warcraft was. Finding nothing on the subject, he decided to drop it and focus on Gale who was now suffering from a similar fate to his predecessor, Torch.

Deja vu? Danny wondered to himself.

"Gale, snap out of it! Keep calm! I don't want another suicide move!" He shouted out, unknowingly causing Leo to sweatdrop at him. Gale suddenly raised his head and gasped, as if waking up from a particularly horrifying nightmare. "A-are you okay?" Danny asked cautiously.

::Am I okay? Am I okay!? There's no way I am! It was so painful my life flashed before my eyes!:: He ranted.

"Gale just channeled Torch!" Leo marveled.

"I know. I'm just as awed as you are." Danny nodded. "Are you good to go?"

::..I think.:: Gale wheezed out. ::He looks just as battered as I am. I should be able to at least do a double knock-out with one last attack.:: He concluded.

"Great." Danny threw his hands up, exasperated. "My team's a bunch of suicidal Pokemon."

Gale flew back to the field, ready to take on the Onix who was now barely conscious and on its last leg. True to his words, one Steel Wing strike and a Iron Tail slap later, both Pokemon lay unconscious on the ground, swirls replacing their eyes.

"Double Knock Out!" Leo shouted, acting as the current referee for the match.

Both trainer nodded and pulled their respective Pokeballs, absorbing the unconscious and defeated Pokemon back to their spheres. After whispering some encouraging and grateful words to the downed ones, both pulled out new Pokeballs and held it for the others to see.

"Last round." Roark said. "Go. Defeat him, Rampardos!" Roark threw the Pokeball into the air where it popped open and released the Pokemon sealed inside in a flash of white light.

What greeted him was a giant dark grey Pachycephalosaurus look-alike with red eyes, horn filled head and body, a blue dome on top of his head and various blue stripes on his body. It stood up, showing its full head before roaring its presence to the world, Jurassic Park style.

"Whoa..." Danny breathed out in amazement. "But, Zenith won't lose to you!" With that boastful declaration, Dany threw his Pokeball into the air where it released the Shelgon from its container in a burs of white light.

::I'm ready!:: Zenith spread his legs apart in a simple stance.

"A shelgon. This is gonna be interesting!" Roark said, nodding his head in agreement with himself.

"Begin!" Leo called out. And so.. The third and last match between Zenith and Rampardos begun!

DOM!

BANG!

GRAAK!

Various other noises filled the arena as physical moves were exploited to the point where it should have been an abuse, particularly headbutt and Zen Headbutt. The headbut Pokemon and Endurance Pokemon did their match under a strict rule they made by themselves, going as far as to tell their trainers to abide by their made-on-spot rule. Pride, it seems, played a huge part in this debacle.

And such, Danny and Roark agreed to follow the rule made by the two hard headed (Literally and Figuratively) Pokemon. The rule is really simple: Physical moves and supportive moves are the only ones allowed. Moves such as Flamethrower, Dragon Breath, Rock Throw and their likes are forbidden under the threat of a Zen headbutt.

Oh, on a side note, using underhanded tactics are forbidden under the threat of the pain of dishonor. Whatever the hell it is.

::Your armor is worthy of praise!:: Rampardos praised as he jumped back from their most recent head to head clash.

::The power behind your headbutt is mighty as well.:: Zenith praised grandly.

Should I tell them to just get on with it and stop this knightly procession? Danny contemplated before his eyes wandered to the side where a smashed window was placed. He shook his head. Nope, just keep silent Danny.

That shattered window was a prove of how far they were willing to test themselves against one another. At one point, Leo had commented that they should just get it going and stop headbutting each other. That had earned him a mighty attack by Rampardos' tail, a downgraded one, but still an attack. It send him out through the window where he screamed his head off comically from the distance.

Roark and Danny kept their thought to themselves ever since. While Danny could just phase through anything they send his way, he wasn't looking forward to getting weird stares and questions from Roark and thus kept his trap shut.

"Zenith, I hope you know that you're seriously limiting my attack options here." The Halfa said with an unimpressed tone.

::I'll make it up to you. Promise. But please let me pit my head strength against the Iron Skeleton! It's a priviledge for us!:: He said in the most passionate tone Danny ever heard, almost as much as when he talked about wings and falling off of cliffs. When he just stared flatly at him, Zenith turned to him and pulled the innocent doe eyes, another variant of Puppy Dog eyes.

Danny crumbled almost instantly. "Ugh.. Fine! But you owe me for this!" He said.

::Gotcha!:: He nodded an affirmative, eyes clearly glowing in excitement just like Leo's would when he saw a cotton candy store.

And so.. The brutal head splitting battle raged on..

"Zen Headbutt!" Danny ordered.

"Match it with your own!" Similarly, Roark barked out his command.

BANG. Both Zen Headbutts clashed against one another, the force behind it causing strong enough to cause a shockwave that cracked some of the windows. The two Pokemon pushed against one another with what was left of their momentum before breaking off and juming away to start their match anew.

::You are good.:: Rampardos smiled appraisingly at the Shelgon. ::What do you say if we stop this match and start fighting seriously? Our trainer seems to look more like dunsparce now.:: The ressurected Pokemon turned to the side to see roark with a dead bored expression, his glasses having turned sideways and giving him a dorky geek look.

::Yes. Very well. Let's start fighting seriously.:: Zenith responded with his usual coolness, pointedly ignoring Danny's silent cheer in the background and Riptide's childish laughter as Danny playfully threw the little pup into the air in his little celebration.

"Alright! Zenith, use Dragon Rush!" Danny happily ordered.

A flaming purple aura started to coat every inch of the Endurance Pokemon's body, forming what looked like a roaring dragon's head behind him as he charged forward, ready to tackle and cause some massive damage to the ancient Pokemon.

"Rampardos use Scary Face and Zen Headbutt, throw him away!" Roark ordered.

Danny swore he saw a cloud of malicious aura coming out off the dinosaur-like Pokemon, forming into a pair of devilish red eyes and a large deviously grining mouth. Rampardos himself sported a very similar expression on his face as he stared down the smaller Shelgon with his crimson eyes, grinning a chilling cheshire grin that promised untold atrocities.

Zenith stopped dead in his track, looking at the eyes like one would a school of angry Gyarados. Taking his chance, Rampardos charged forward like english hooligans, head glowing a pale blue as Zen headbutt activated itself.

"Zenith!" Danny called out, breaking the Dragon-type out of his stupor.

He jumped away just as the super-powered headbutt touched the ground, destroying it in a shower of dust and debrises. He wasn't uninjured however, as Rampardos decided to be creative and swung his tail at the dodging Shelgon, throwing him away just like he did to Leo.

::Even if its not Iron Tail, his tail hurts like hell..:: Zenith complained.

"Zenith, use Double Edge and Zen Headbutt!" Danny ordered. "Hit him in the torso! Avoid the head at all cost!" He added.

Zenith complied, charging at the Head Butt Pokemon with a glowing armor, white streaks making a long trail of light behind him as he ran. Anticipating the attack, Rampardos followed with his own charge and Zen headbutt, ready to stop the Shelgon with his head. He lowered his head to the ground as his foe came withing reach, slamming it with a force strong enough to shatter boulders.

Without breaking the momentum of his charge, Zenith jumped up into the air, successfully dodging the earth-shattering attack of Rampardos. Like a giant bowling ball of death and broken spine, Zenith tucked his legs and spun in mid-air as gravity started to reassert its rule upon him and pulled him down.

BAM. The falling cannonball fell upon the dinosaur's back, the combination of Zen headbutt and Double Edge proving to be strong enough a power to cause the dinosaur to arch its back and release a roar of pain before falling to its knees. Zenith rolled down from his back and landed on his feet before jumping back to a safe distance in case of surprise retaliation, panting and wincing lightly at the recoil from Double Edge.

"You okay?" Danny asked, noticing his silent hiss of discomfort.

::Good.:: Zenith replied.

"Alright. Use Focus Enegy then follow it up with Dragon claw!" Danny ordered. Zenith stood stock still, eyes closed as he focused his internal power to flow all over him. A red wispy aura started to float off of him as he focused himself.

"Rampardos, Ancient Power!" Roark ordered.

Rampardos roared an affirmative as his eyes glowed an unearthly blue. Pebbles, rocks and boulders started to float and spin the air before all of them shot off to the still form of Zenith.

The shelgon opened suddenly opened his eyes and jumped up from the projectiles aimed his way, dodging most of them before destroying those that pursued him with Dragon Claw. Zenith charged forward once more, raising his dragon claws in hopes of landing a solid hit on Rampardos. Instead he found his claws blocked by a pair of strengthened hands.

::Brick Break?:: Zenith inquired.

::Indeed.:: He answered before using his much larger weigh and power to throw the smalled Shelgon away.

Said Shelgon twisted in middair and landed perfectly on his feet, just in time to jump away and dodge a strong right hook from the dinosaur-like Pokemon. In a flash of movement, both Pokemon once again clashed, Dragon Claws pressing hard against the glowing fist of Brick Break.

"Zenith, use flamethrower!" Danny called out.

FWOSH. With a mighty exhale, a stream of hot red fire exploded out of the Endurance Pokemon's invisible mouth, exploding right at the face of the Head Butt Pokemon in a burst of smoke and flame. Simultaneously, the fighting move he had employed failed, letting the sharp purple Dragon Claws through its defense and added six slash wound on Rampardos' torso.

::Smart move.:: Rampardos commented as he fell to his knees. ::You caught me off-guard.::

"Nice, Zenith! Just a bit more!" Danny cheered. "Finish it with Dragon Rush!"

"Rampardos stop him with Zen Headbutt!" Roark called out.

Shakily, the large dinosaur-like Pokemon stood back up and charged forward, glowing head aimed to destroy his enemies. Similarly, with a glowing purple aura around him, Zenith charged forward.

"Zenith, add Hyper Beam!" Danny shouted.

*Boooooom!

A large beam of white light shot out of his covered mouth without breaking his charge. Unable to stop himself, the charging Rampardos ran straight towards the strongest Normal-type move before finally meeting the enemy's charge. By the time that happened, Rampardos was moving only by the force of willpower, and even that was broken under the force of Dragon Rush.

Rampardos fell with a loud thud.

Leo appeared from the broken window, small branches and stray leaves sticking from his wild spiky red hair, a red flag held in his hands. "Rampardos is unable to battle! Zenith and Challenger Danny wins!" He declared, waving said flag around cheerfully as a smile blossomed from his face. See? Even a Tail Whip from a fully evolved Fossil Pokemon couldn't destroy his bright outlook.

"Now it's my turn to fight!" He cheered and jumped inside the building.

"Haha! That'll have to wait. How about tomorrow?" At his nod, the Gym leader smiled. "Good. Now, congratulations on your victory, Danny. I present to you, the proof of your victory. The Coal badge!" He proudly fished out a badge with the shape of a rock and handed it to him.

Danny gingerly took the metal badge from himm holding it carefully between his fingers as if he was afraid that the thing would break under the slightest force and examined it. It glinted proudly under the light, the metal linings shining ever so slightly under the rays of sunlight. It strangely made him proud, looking at the proof of his and his Pokemon's hard work.

"Awesome!" He cheered.

"I can't wait to get my own badge!" Leo started to hop from one foot to another in his excitement for his up and coming debut. "It's gonna be so rocking!" He said.

"Hahaha! Well, you won't be rocking when your pokemon was buried under several tons of boulder." Roark chimed in, unwilling to lose before the battle even start.

"Just you wait!" Leo said heatedly, pointing at the cordovan haired miner with determination in his eyes. "I'm going to defeat you!" He declared.

"We'll see." Roark smirked.

::Fight!:: Riptide cheered from his spot on Danny's hand, waving Leo's red flag playfully in his small hands.
