"How much more of this can we take!?"
Fox and Samus frantically ran down the corridors of Samus' ship. Every twist and corner brought more of the weird humanoid attackers who they were currently trying to escape from. Guns toted, whenever an enemy appeared, they were met with a face full of laser shots.
"We're almost to the area I came onto your ship from. Just a little closer now."
Fox took the lead and snuck his head around the last corner. Peering into the room he made his entrance in, he saw no signs of those freaks.
"Alright. We're good to go. My ship is right above here." He pointed out.
They jumped onto the top of the ship and ran as fast as they could to Fox's Arwing. They were just about to board when Fox was shot down.
"Fox! Are you okay!?" Samus came down. She knelt down to look at his injury. Fox chuckled a little. "I'm fine. He just got my arm, nothing to serious."
They heard footsteps coming closer. They looked over to see two of their pursuers silently on their heels. Something was different though. They looked like…them!
"Unbelievable…" Samus said in awe. "They must take on the attributes of their enemies."
"This could pose a problem." Fox said as he struggled to get up using his good arm. "I don't know about you, but I'm not interested in fighting against myself. I'm pretty good."
"Now is not the time for your overconfidence. Their closing in and you're half working with one arm." She charged her blaster as she cautiously eyed down the dopplegangers. The fake Fox suddenly pulled out a blaster and readied its shot at Samus.
"Looks like we have a stalemate. I can change that." Fox leaned forward and before Samus knew it, he was gone.
"Fox! Hey Fox, where'd you go?!" She stopped charging her shot and scanned the area until she felt a tap on her shoulder.
"Miss me?" He laughed, showing his canines off.
Noticing her incredulous look, he nodded towards the direction of the fake ones. They both were hanging off the edge of Samus' ship, wriggling to escape the bonds that were holding them bound.
"Still think I can't work with one arm?"
"Hey I was wrong. Now let's please leave before anything weirder happens."
They both hopped into the Arwing. As the engine started to hum and hover, Samus could only feel a bit of guilt as she left her ship.
"I'll come back for you…I swear it."
They started to fly away, but as they did something sliced through the left wing on the Arwing!
"What the hell!" Fox yelled as the plane spun out of control. "We've been struck by something!"
Samus looked back to see her phony staring back at her. Somehow it got free of its bondage, produced a sword, and decided to cut the Arwing.
"Our company didn't like us leaving so soon. They got us Fox! What do we do!?"
"We try not to die!" Fox shouted.
"Thanks Captain Obvious! Why didn't I think of that?!"
"No woman! Look at that!"
Despite being dizzy from the continuous spinning, both of them could make out an asteroid threatening to collide with him! Fox quickly racked his brain for an escape from the threat.
"We need to stabilize! With this constant spinning, I can't get out us out of the way."
"I got it!" Samus opened the pod that held the two of them. Extending her blaster arm back, she whipped a plasma chain out and latched onto the huge rock. The Arwing eventually stopped flipping.
Fox flashed his canines at Samus. "You did it Sammie-girl! Now we can get out of here!"
Hearing the nickname she somehow earned herself, Samus let go of the asteroid and blushed angrily. "Do not call me that!"
"Hahaha I'm sorry! Now let's get the hell out of here." He pushed on a button the control panel, turning on the booster jets. The jets sputtered and rattled to no avail…
"So…we're still going to die." Fox muttered.
"No we won't!" Samus pointed her blaster away from the ship and closed her eyes. "Hold on!"
A huge laser beam fired from her, sending them careening across the nothingness of space…

Samus peeked her eyes open a bit. Looking around slightly, she could see she was laying in a forest somewhere. Light was petering down from the canopy of the tree tops onto her.
A rustling from some nearby bushes caught her attention. She tried to make it to her feet, but her body was out of energy. A round silhouette jumped out at her as she passed out again.
