Chapter Five; Nobody's Perfect

"Hey guys you should probably get to your spots, the wedding's going to be starting soon." Mickey said.

"Spoken like a true head usher." The Doctor told him. "We just wanted to check on the kids. How are they?" he asked him.

"Jane is acting like she was pretty much born ready, Peter on the other hand well,.. I think that he might be a little bit nervous." He answered.

"Really?" The Doctor began. "How can you tell?" he asked him.

"He peed his pants." He answered.

"Oh dear, I'll take care of it." Rose said as she hurried down the hallway and knocked on the boy's bathroom door. "Peter, it's Mummy." She began. "Darling are you alright in there?" she asked him as she heard a muffled sob.

"No." he answered.

"Well, can I come in?" she asked him.

"You can't, you're a girl." He told her as she stifled a laugh.

"It's alright there's an exception to the rule when it comes to mummies." She explained before she pushed opened the door.

"I want to go home." He sobbed and wiped his nose with the back of his hand as he gave a sniff.

"Oh Peter," she began down as she bent down to his level. "it's alright honey you just had an accident. I'm not mad at you or anything." She reassured him as she put her arms on the top of his shoulders. "Besides if I take you home now you'll be letting everybody else down. Is that what you want?" she asked him.

"No." he answered with another sniff.

"That's my brave little boy." Rose told him as she kissed his cheek. "C'mon baby let's get you all cleaned up." She said as she picked him up. Meanwhile Jane waited with the rest of the wedding party wearing a beautiful silky pink dress with matching shoes and a matching bow.

"Alright darling you remember what to do right?" The Doctor questioned.

"Yes Daddy." She answered while she twirled around in her dress while she held onto her basket that were filled with rose and lily petals. "I am the best, I am the pwettiest gurl at the wedding!" she exclaimed excitedly in song.

"Now, now sweetheart it isn't nice to brag that you're better than everyone else." Her father told her when suddenly Rose came back carrying Peter. "How is he?" he asked his wife.

"He's still a little nervous but I'm sure he'll be alright." She answered as she sat him down next to Jane.

"I'm not novous! I'm the best!" Jane boasted as she continued to twirl.

"Oh shut up!" Peter yelled.

"Jane," her father began warningly. "that's enough." He told her.

"Just ignore her Peter and remember what you're supposed to do and you'll be just fine." His mother told him when suddenly the organ music began to play. The Doctor took ahold of Rose's arm and marched her down the aisle before it was Jane's turn. She went skipping merrily down the aisle tossing her flower petals while stopping every few feet to smile and wave at her grandmother and Donna and Martha who were sitting in the audience.

As soon as she made her way to the front of the church, The Doctor turned and nodded at Peter making him realize that it was his turn. He took a deep breath and started to carry the soft fluffy pillows that held the two wedding rings just like he had been taught to. He had nearly made it to his position when suddenly he stopped and noticed how many people were looking at him and taking pictures. Then before he realized what was happening in time to stop it, he found himself emptying his stomach of this morning's breakfast right on the top of his sister's shoes. "Eww!" she cried as the crowd gasped. "Look at my beautiful shoes, they're ruined!" she exclaimed before she burst into tears and ran back down the aisle while Peter rushed out towards the door.

"Oh dear." The minister said.

"I'll get Jane you get Peter." Rose told The Doctor as she started to run after her. Just as The Doctor was about to go after Peter, Mickey placed a hand on top of his chest.

"Can I talk to him? I think I can help." He said.

"Well alright, if you think you can but be sure to come and get me if you need anything." The Doctor told him before he ran outside and found Peter out in the front yard and sitting on top of a tree branch.

"Hey Peter," he began as he slowly walked over to him. "can I talk to you for a second?" he asked him.

"I can't go back in there." He began as Mickey stood in front of the tree and looked up at him.

"I messed up. I thought I could do it but I couldn't. This is the worst day of my life." He said with a heavy sigh.

"Oh c'mon Peter you just made a mistake that's all, it was an accident. Everybody makes mistakes." He assured him.

"Jane doesn't." he told him as Mickey scoffed.

"Wanna bet? Don't tell your mum and dad that I told you this but I think she had it coming to her. She was acting like a huge pain in the butt if you ask me." He said. "Do you want me to tell you a funny story to cheer you up?" he asked him as he slowly nodded. "Alright then, c'mon." he said as he picked him up and lifted him out of the tree before setting him back on the ground.

Mickey sat down under the tree and placed him on top of his lap. "Now you see when I was in high school your mum and I were in a band together. She played the flute and I played the trumpet. Then one day I decided that I wanted to learn how to play the drums. However shortly afterwards I found out that that wasn't' the greatest idea in the world." He said.

"Why not?" Peter asked him.

"Well at our first practice I was nervous that my palms were sweaty and I couldn't hold the sticks so well and they ended up slipping out of my hands and hitting our teacher in the back of the head." He explained as Peter giggled.

"That's funny!" he cried as Mickey grinned.

"Yeah I know, but I didn't think so then. I thought that I could never show my face in school again. But I turned out that I was wrong. I was laughing about it the next day with everyone else and then after that we all moved on and everyone forgot about it just like my mother told me they would." He explained. "You see everybody gets embarrassed but the important thing is to learn to laugh at yourself and to know that everybody makes mistakes, but you just always have to try your best and never give up. Do you understand?" he asked him.

"Yeah I do, thanks Uncle Mickey I feel a lot better now." Peter told him.

"You're welcome squirt. Alright c'mon give me some love." He said as Peter stood up on top of his lap and gave him a kiss on the cheek while he kissed him back. "Alright c'mon we better get back inside before they send a search party out after us." He said as he patted his shoulder before Peter got off of his lap and ran back towards the church.
