Chapter Ten; And Baby Makes Three

A few weeks later Rose had her sonogram appointment and then she would know if she was going to have a boy or a girl. "So?" she asked the nurse. "What is it?" she questioned.

"Congratulations you're having a girl!" She answered excitedly while The Doctor and Rose grinned proudly. "Have you picked out any names yet?" the nurse asked them.

"No not yet we were sort of waiting until we found out. Oh my God though, I can't believe it! We're having another little girl and Jane's going to have a little sister." She said happily.

"Yeah but so is Peter. Poor bloke we're both outnumbered not including Shadow." The Doctor said.

"Yeah but on the plus side he probably won't have to worry about having to share his toy since when the new baby's old enough she'll want to play with Jane since she's got all the girl's toys." Rose said.

"Good point." The Doctor said as he brushed back her bangs and kissed her forehead. "I'm so proud of you, bringing two beautiful children into the world and now another beautiful daughter." He told her as he kissed her lips. "I love you so much Rose, it doesn't matter what I look like on the outside because the hearts are still the same." He said as he kissed her again.

"I love you too, even though you used to be cute." She said as he playfully hit her a crossed the shoulder and she burst into laughter. "I'm joking!" she assured him as she held up her hands and avoided him. "You're still cute it's just in a different way." She told him. When they got home that day they couldn't wait to tell their children the news. Mickey had been babysitting them when they arrived home.

"Mummy!" Jane exclaimed as she jumped up from the floor and ran towards her mother with open arms. "Daddy!" Peter cried as he jumped up and ran inside the opposite direction while Mickey, Jack, and Sarah (who had been visiting) got up from the couch and walked over to them as they grabbed each kid and hoisted them up inside their arms.

"Guess what?" Rose began. "Mummy and Daddy went to go to the doctor's office today, and the baby that's inside Mummy's tummy is,.. a girl." She finished.

"A girl!?" Jane cried excitedly.

"That's right, you two are going to have a new little sister." She explained.

"Aw man, I was really hoping that it was going to be a boy." Peter said.

"I know, but don't worry you'll come to love her just like you did with Jane." His father told him as he glanced over at her and made a disgusted face. "And think of it this way peanut," The Doctor began again as he turned to look back at him. "She'll probably leave you alone since she'll have an older sister to play with." He explained.

"What's her name?" Jane asked.

"I dunno, we haven't decided yet." Her mother answered.

"Well Sarah and I have some pretty exciting news of our own." Jack said as he placed a hand on top of his wife's shoulder. "Hey Doctor, how would you like to be an uncle?" he questioned him while Rose and Sarah squealed with excitement before embracing each other tightly.

"So that's why you had a doctor's appointment." Rose realized before she let go of her.

"Yep he should be due in November. Jack and I have known for a few months now but we wanted to wait and tell you once we knew the gender." She explained.

"There you see that peanut? It looks like you'll have another little boy around to play with after all even if he isn't your brother." The Doctor told him.

"Yep, good old Jack junior is on his way." Jack said happily with a proud grin.

….

A Few weeks later…

Rose came out of the bathroom breathing heavily while placing her hand upon her stomach. "Rose? Are you alright?" The Doctor questioned her.

"No, she's coming. My water just broke." She explained.

"No that's impossible," The Doctor began with a shake of his head. "she can't be. You're three weeks early!" he exclaimed while she continued to breathe.

"Yeah, well, trying telling her that." She said.

"Alright kids we have to get in the car and drive Mummy to the hospital! Make sure you use the potty before you go!" he cried.

"Doctor I'm worried, do you think she'll be okay?" Rose asked him.

"Yes darling don't worry, she'll be just fine." He told her before placing his hands upon her cheeks and kissing her lips. "Just hold on alright? I love you." He told her as she nodded in response but couldn't get any words to come out of her mouth.

….

Mickey and Peter and Jane waited inside the waiting room for The Doctor to return. A few moments later they saw him walking down the hallway. "So? How's Rose?" Mickey asked him.

"They took her back to the emergency room to operate because the baby was in distress." He began.

"Well are they alright?" Mickey asked him anxiously as The Doctor quickly grinned at him.

"Yep! They both are!" he answered as Mickey breathed a sigh of relief. "We even named the baby." He said.

"Well then go on tell us, the suspense is killing me!" Mickey exclaimed as The Doctor laughed.

"Her name is Cassandra Lillian Smith." He said as Mickey made a sickish face.

"Ugh Cassandra? You mean like that ugly old piece of skin Rose was telling me about?" he questioned.

"Yeah I know but we both liked the name and we decided to call her Cassie for short." The Doctor told him.

"So, what does she look like?" Peter asked him.

"Well c'mon and see for yourself." His father answered as he guided them back towards the room.
