Chapter Sixteen; The Adoption

Alright guys, here it is the last chapter! The next and final (excluding the short episodes of course) one will hopefully be coming soon. It will be called The Next Doctor and focus on The Doctor training Peter to take his place as the next time lord someday along with finally discovering what Jane's secret hidden talent is! So I hope you enjoy reading these (and from the looks of things you do YAY!) as much as I enjoy writing them!

"Oh c'mon Doctor," Rose began as she stared into the computer screen and clicked the mouse. "Where are you?" she wondered aloud to herself when suddenly Mickey entered the room.

"What happened to The Doctor?" he asked her. "I just saw him come in here with you." He said.

"I know, he's in the internet." She answered.

"He's what?" he questioned with uncertainty. "Did I just hear that correctly? Did you just say that he was in the internet?" he asked her.

"Yep, sure did. He vanished inside the computer screen a few minutes ago." She explained when suddenly the portal through the screen started to glow. "Get back!" she yelled as she pulled Mickey down out of the way and The Doctor suddenly fell back through the screen and landed upright on his chair.

"No matter how much time I spend with you guys you never cease to amaze me." Mickey said as he slowly stood back up.

"So? Tell me what happened." Rose said.

"I found out why I regenerated backwards." The Doctor began. "It was because I was scared. I didn't want to regenerate because I didn't want to lose you." He explained as he looked over at her.

"Oh c'mon Doctor, that'll never happen. I mean even though you were hot before, and I mean extremely hot,.. I don't care what you look like." She began with a shake of her head. "Because I fell in love with you, I mean the person that you are on the inside. That's something that's never going to change no matter how many times you regenerate." She told him as he grinned up at her.

"Then I guess you wouldn't be interested in this then." He said as he raised the vile into the air.

"What is that?" she asked him.

"It's the antidote. Well it's poison actually," he began.

"Poison!?" she exclaimed in horror and disbelief.

"Don't worry, it'll help me to regenerate forward again." He told her.

"And you'll look like you did when I married you?" she questioned.

"Precisely." He answered as he closed his eyes and raised the vile up to his lips.

"Doctor be careful." She told him as he started to drink it. A few moments later he started to cough and clutched his stomach before falling onto the floor. "Doctor!" Rose cried worriedly when suddenly a bright golden light erupted from his body. Rose quickly turned her head away until she heard a sudden gasp for breath. She turned to look back over at him and sure enough there was the same Doctor that she had married.

"Testing one, two, three." He said after he cleared his throat and Rose's smile lit up her face.

"Doctor!" she cried excitedly as she embraced him tightly. "I'm so glad you're alright!" she exclaimed as she hugged him tightly.

"Yes, yes, I'm fine and dandy!" he exclaimed excitedly with a grin. "But I'm afraid there's something that I have to tell you." He began as she suddenly let go of him.

"What?" she asked him worriedly.

"In order for me to change back I had to give away the TARDIS." He explained.

"What!? You didn't!" Rose cried.

"I'm afraid I did. It was either saying goodbye to the TARDIS or saying goodbye to you, and God knows that there's no way in hell that I'm letting that happen." He told her.

"But you're The Doctor." She began. "What are you going to do without it?" she asked him.

"Well until I can regrow it I can use Jack's vortex. Man am I glad he has that vortex. Even if he is a dirty rotten bastard for sending me that Rick Roll whatever the heck that was." He answered as she giggled.

"Nobody really knows, it was just a trend." She said as she helped him back up to his feet.

"So, now what are we going to do?" Mickey asked.

The only thing that we can do at this point which is go on with our lives." The Doctor responded.

One Year Later…

Cassie toddled a crossed the floor as she sucked on her pacifier, while Peter and Jane played with their kitten (adolescent) Angel. They had gotten her a pink collar with identification tags even though she was a cat just in case she ever got lost. Meanwhile Shadow was adjusting to her nicely, although he was missing Joy and the other kittens. Sarah Jane and Jack took Joy with them while Donna took Barney, Mickey took Elvis, Martha took Faith, and the other kittens they sold to some more of their friends.

Today was a day of great celebration because Jack and Sarah had adopted a little baby boy that they named Joshua John Harkness or AKA JJ. He was six months old with short blonde hair and bright blue eyes. "Finally I'll have a little boy to play with." Peter (who had just lost his first tooth) said as all of the adults laughed. Jack smiled down at his new son as he started falling asleep while he sucked on his formula.

"Aww look at that, he's doing what Peter used to do." Rose commented.

"Peetur." Cassie said as she looked at her older brother and smiled at him warmly.

"Isn't that sweet? You're her first word Peter." Jack told him.

"There you see that, you might not have the little brother that you always wanted but you have two little sisters who look up to you and love you very much. Is that really such a bad thing?" The Doctor questioned as Cassie sat down on Peter's lap.

"No," he began as he kissed her cheek and smiled down at her. "I guess it isn't."
