Guess who's back?;)
The party for the victory tour in the Capitol this year is crazy. Finnick is by far one of the most popular victors we've ever had. This is the most natural everyone in the Capitol has looked. Many people have fake tan on and green eyes, to try and get the sun-kissed Finnick look. By the time Finnick leaves for District 4, he's even more popular and there is rumours that when he turns 16, he will automatically be signed onto President Snow's sex gang in the Capitol, alongside Cashmere and Gloss. He does however talk about how his parents were killed in a boating accident just before he got home from the games, and the heart broken look in the one I see in Haymitch's eyes everytime we get new tributes.
Back in 12 for the reaping of the 66th Hunger games, I cross my fingers and hope that I don't reap 12 year olds. It works. I reap a 14 year old, Susie, and a 16 year old, Fletcher. Susie, is little and graceful, and she walks around silently. She somehow picks up using a spear quite quickly, which she finds funny as she's not very big or strong. Fletcher picks up how to use a bow and arrow. He also is quite good with his hands, and learns how to make fish hooks and arrows quickly. Somehow, he teams up with the guy from 3, who he tells us is also good at making things. We try to encourage Susie to make some allies, but she doesn't want to and quietly leaves the room everytime we bring it up. The allies wouldn't matter anyway, because the tributes are set up at 4 different cornucopia's, six tributes at each. Fletcher's Ally dies at his cornucopia, but Susie and Fletcher make it out of theirs, Susie with a knife and Fletcher with a variety of knives. Luckily, one of them is a whittling knife and he makes a bow and arrow.
Susie unfortunately didn't spend much time learning to use knives, and she is cornered by the girl from 5 on day 7, and only quick swipes leaves Susie's throat cut and a cannon going off. She lies in a field of lilies as the girl from 5 holds her hand as she dies. Fletcher cries as we watches the anthem from a tree, and spends the rest of the night making hundreds of arrows. The next morning though, he is discovered hiding by the two remaining careers, both of them from 2. He kills the girl with his homemade arrows but the boy throws a knife through his heart. We take their wooden boxes to District 12 on the silent train, leaving early so we don't have to be there for the party of the girl from 2, this years victor.
