Chapter 10:
Bumblebee felt so hollow. Gone? The tiny spark he had already grown to love…. It was gone? Why? Why? He had tried so hard to keep it and… he had failed…
"Bee… I know your upset and I honestly understand but… please look at me." Ratchet said softly, his head lowering to try and catch the dazed blue orbs. "Please… you need to be strong for Prowl and Jazz-" Ratchet tried.
~Don't bring us into this old bot.~ Jazz said as he looked to the medic from his place in Sunstreaker's hold. The sparkling was being bounced lightly and he was grunting occasionally but it was more because the air was being bounced from his vents.
~Jazz… it's really gone.~ Prowl said. His wings had yet to hike up in their usually beautiful arch but instead they hung low and sideswipe had even taken up to rubbing the emergency light between the wings the usually pissed the big prowl off, only because it aroused him… -many a frag had happened because Sideswipe had teasingly caressed that light and aroused the Praxian. Jazz had more often then not encouraged the red Lamborghini to go 'bother' the mech just so he knew they WOULD get at least one frag in before bed.- but this time the light touching wasn't even causing him to flinch. He was so depressed that the poor red twin was at a loss on how to help his new 'son'.
~Ah know Prowler but its for the best-~ Jazz was cut off when Prowl suddenly released a feral, and outraged screeching sound that had even Bumblebee looking at the Praxian.
~FOR THE BETTER?! We lost our sparkling! OURS, JAZZ!~ he continued to screech and Sideswipe was nearly juggling and jumping completely off the ground in hopes to quell the screeching babe.
"What did you do?!" Ratchet snarled at Sideswipe who whimpered and struggled to elaborate to the medic that he was only trying to cheer the sparkling up!
~AND BUMBLEBEE HAS LOST MORE!~ Jazz snarled his tiny engine squealing and Ratchet looked between the two sparkling in confusion as they both threw tantrums. ~Bumblebee almost died last nigh' Prowler, and if ya hadn't noticed, Bumblebee was in excruciatin' pain each time tha Hatchet shocked 'im!~ Jazz snarled over the bond as Ratchet dashed between the two sparkling, assessing their health as Sideswipe and Sunstreaker set them on the berth with Bumblebee, hoping that would calm them.
~yes we lost the sparklin' but at least Bee lived.~ Jazz said, his screeching going into small whimpers. Prowl himself stopped but the tears continued to fall. He was very distraught and being unable to control himself he sobbed.
Sunstreaker pulled the babe up and rocked him gently. "Shhh." He hushed gently, coddling Prowl who clutched at his chassis. "Are you hungry? Huh?" Sunstreaker said awkwardly as he tried to look at Prowls face but the sparkling refused to look at him, his head bobbing around to keep some form of his dignity.
Bumblebee cautiously opened the bond and with almost hesitant resolve the two sparkling attached to the bond and fed their sparks. The little yellow bot looked up weakly to the twins and sighed with a shiver as the twins responded in kind, feeding the minibots spark with their own energy.
"The good news is that now that you guys are bonded and the two mini fraggers have a stable sparkbeat, they can now transfer onto some Energon. So, who wants to learn how to feed a sparkling-and where do you think you're going sideswipe?" Ratchet hissed lowly when he noticed the red twin was trying to slink away.
"Nowhere I guess." The red twin whimpered and he scuffled back towards the center of the med bay. It took a mere minute to create the special concoction and hold the small bottle of green goo to Sideswipe who curled a lip. "That looks like an organic canine's waste." He said in disgust.
"Take the bottle, Sideswipe." The medic hissed and with a girly squeak the red twin quickly obeyed. It was to Sideswipes fascinated horror how quick he learned how to feed jazz, and how happy it made him to feed the other… "This isn't so bad" he mused as Ratchet set up Sunstreaker with a bottle and Prowl.
While the boys were distracted, Ratchet spoke to the still in shock Bumblebee. "We need to do this. If it begins to rust inside you then we could still loose you… I can do the operation immediately." He said softly, kneeling by the youngling's side. His red servo resting of the black and yellow knee joint.
"It's really… gone?" Bee whimpered and his faded optics looked to Ratchet in depression. The medic sighed and nodded. His little Baby Bee… so young to have such loss. Ratchet pulled away and weakly caressed his own chassis as his spark throbbed and tried to search for the spark that was once nestled next to his…long ago… too long.
Slowly Bumblebee wiped away his tears and nodded. "Yeah. Okay." He whispered and ratchet hugged him carefully. Then left to set up one of the spare rooms to be suitable for his operation. He was rather surprised when he saw that there already someone in the spare room berth. -First Aid?- he crooned over the comm's and a timidly reply answered.
-y-yes sir?- came the timid response.
-Why is Wheeljack unconscious in my spare medical room?- he asked, still coating the words with sugar.
-W-well you see…-
*LAST NIGHT*
"Quickly, put him on the berth and I will begin the in depth scans." First Aid said as he quickly and efficiently set up the necessary scanning machines. Inferno dumped the inventor onto the berth with only minor complaints.
Red Alert shifted on his hips nervously. The poor mech was sick with worry and confusion. How had anyone gotten passed his system?! What had he done wrong and failed so miserably that his cousin had been kidnapped?!
"RED!" Inferno snapped and the smaller mech jerked to attention as he focused on his friend. "Snap out of it. You don't need to be glitching." He growled and Red Alert took a ragged breath of uncertainty in hopes to chill and soothe his rattled cords.
"I…I'm fine." He whimpered softly and Inferno grumbled something under his breath.
First Aid pulled away after a moment. "Well… there's nothing more than normal wrong with him. I think he'll be back up on his pedes-"
"You think?!" Inferno snapped.
"W-well I mean I'm sure he will do fine-" First Aid whimpered and stumbled over his words desperately.
"Whatever, I'm out of here" he grumbled and left, tugging Red Alert along with him, even as the poor mech began to struggled weakly but the other had already drug him away...
*PRESENT*
-You left an unconscious mech in my med bay WITHOUT TELLING ME?!"-Ratchet snarled
-S-sorry sir…- First Aid whimpered…
