"God, I just love you so much," Will murmured in my ear, tracing lines on my palm. "I never meant to hurt you, Sophie. I know I'm stupid. Please don't give up on me. You're the only one I love. And the only one who loves me." He hesitated. "If you still love me."
I looked at him silently. I knew it was a bad idea to go back to him. He'd cheated on me, hurt me, and insulted me.
And yet, I needed him. Some part of me loved him.
"I still love you, baby," I whispered. "I promise."
