The moment Naruto heard the knock on the door he knew it had to be Hinata knocking.
Only Hinata could manage to make a knock sound so hesitant and meek.
"C'mon in Hinata."
"A-Alright than."
Hinata hesitantly sat next to Naruto and his dinner table and put her textbook down in front of him.
Hinata put on her bravest face and began her explanation,
"… Well, you see… plant cells have chloroplasts which contain chlorophyll, and chlorophyll absorbs blue-violet light from the sun, a plant's natural energy source."
As Hinata looked back at Naruto she could tell he didn't get it. Difficult as it was, Hinata was able to explain Photosynthesis in a way Naruto could understand.
"Naruto-Kun, Chlorophyll is… like a person making instant noodles. Glucose is like… um…the instant noodles, and sunlight is like the boiling water needed to cook the noodles."
Even as she said the words, Hinata couldn't believe she was putting it this way, but if it would help Naruto pass the test she'd help him anyway she could.
"And without the sunlight the plants food would never be ready and the plant would starve to death!" Naruto proclaimed excitedly, visibly proud of what he considered an academic accomplishment.
"Yeah, that's basically it." Hinata admitted. It wasn't a perfect analogy, but it'd help him understand the basics at least.
