"Hey, maybe next time I can come to your house."

"… Um… I'm not so sure that's a good a idea…"

"Huh? Why not?"

Hinata to be honest and say she didn't want to give her father another reason to disapprove of her, but she didn't want to tell him something like that. What would he think if she said she wouldn't bring him home because of what her parents wouldn't like it? Naruto didn't know how her father was.

Naruto noticed Hinata's somber silence and decided to let her off the hook if her reason was that upsetting.

"Forget it. Meeting at my place is fine. I guess I'll see you later, Hinata."

"Right… I'll see you later, Naruto-Kun."

Hinata gave Naruto a small wave goodbye and exited his apartment door.

After Hinata left Naruto couldn't help but think how weird she was.

She never looked him in they eyes, and got a gloomy if you mentioned her home life.

"What a shy, dark weirdo…" Naruto mumbled.

Even with these observations, Naruto still couldn't bring himself to dislike the girl.
