Prologue: Kryptonite

Lincoln's P.O.V.

I pressed my body to his, my lips following suit. His lips were soft, supple, demanding. I loved them, just like I loved him.

He pulled away with a sigh of, "I love you."

I ignored the way he made my pants tighten with just his voice, teasing him, "Narcissist."

He smiled, the hint of moonlight leaking through the window illuminating his teeth and lips. "Guilty. I could say the same to you, you know."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah." He flipped us over so that he was on top of me. "And I'd like to hear your narcissism, if you don't mind."

I smiled at him. "I love you, Superman."

"What are you talking about?"

"Well," I said in mock seriousness. "I'm the nerd, and you're the hero, yeah? That means you're Superman, and I'm Clark Kent, weirdo."

"We don't have Superman."

"You're deprived."

"Yes, very much." He pressed his lips to mine. "Much better."

I smiled at him. "That wasn't what I meant, and you know it."

"You weren't specific, so I win."

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."

"Whatever yourself." He kissed my nose. "Get some sleep, sexy-ass. We have a long day tomorrow."

I curled into his side, thinking about the first time we met as I fell asleep.
