Jack smoothed his jacket nervously. He walked up the stone steps and rang the bell for Ralph's apartment.

"Hello?" Sam or Eric said.

Clearing all of the stress out of his voice, he said, "Hey, this is Jack. I was wondering if Ralph was there, I noticed something we've been doing wrong in our music."

Jack could hear Ralph's frantic voice in the background.

"Ralph says to come up right away," Sam or Eric informed him, pressing the button to let him in.

Jack slowly walked to the apartment, took a deep breath, and knocked on the door. Ralph opened it almost immediately. "What? What have we been doing wrong?" he yelled before stopping short. "Um, why are you wearing that?"

Jack presented the bouquet of red roses to Ralph, "Happy Valentine's Day!"

Ralph's eyes widened, then narrowed, "You tricked me! I was so worried!"

Jack pecked him on the cheek. "Sorry love, but I needed you surprised."

Ralph pretended to look mad for a moment, then grinned, "You. Are. So. Sweet!" he said, punctuating each word with a kiss.

"Yeah, I know," Jack pretended to toss his hair.

They stood for a moment in silence before Ralph said, "So… what happens now?"

Jack shook himself, and offered his arm to Ralph, "Shall we go?" he asked.

Ralph turned around and opened the door Samneric fell out, tumbling over each other. Ralph knelt down and said, "Make some PB and Js, and don't wake up Mama. She has to go to work soon. Play quietly. I'll be back after a little while."

Samneric saluted and marched back into the apartment. Ralph stood up, took Jack's arm and walked down the hall with him. Thy walked into the parking lot, and Jack opened the passenger side door of a silver car parked out front.

"You have a car?" Ralph asked, sliding into the seat.

Jack stiffened a bit, "Nah, its Simon's. He let me borrow it just for today."

Ralph felt a piece of cloth covering his eyes. His hands flew to his face, but Jack gently batted them away.

"No! You'll mess it up!"

Resisting the urge to giggle nervously, Ralph lowered his hands and folded them neatly in his lap.

"What kind of music do you like?" Jack asked.

"It doesn't matter, really," Ralph said.

"Okay," Jack said, cranking up the radio and driving.

About 20 minutes later, Ralph could feel the road getting bumpy, before they stopped completely. Ralph heard Jack getting out of the car. Then he heard his door opening and felt cool night air.

Jack led him off a gravel road and untied the blindfold. Ralph gasped, "Oh, it's so… beautiful."

Daisies and forget-me-nots lined a path to a patch of grass just big enough for two people.

Jack shrugged off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves. Opening the car door wide, he turned up the music and took Ralph's hand.

"Shall we dance?" he asked.

"We shall," Ralph said, pulling him close.

They didn't dance so much as turn in soft circles, holding each other close. Jack pulled back a bit, seeing that Ralph's eyes were still closed. Jack smiled to himself and kissed him.

Ralph's eyes flew open, and he smiled. Jack broke the kiss and rested his forehead against Ralph's.

"I love you," he said, red hair falling in his brown eyes.

Ralph's face flooded with color and his mouth fell open as wide as his eyes. Jack turned away, "I'm sorry. I just, I… I dunno."

His eyes burned with humiliation. Why did he do that? Then there were warm lips on his cheek. He looked at Ralph questioningly.

Standing on his tiptoes, Ralph whispered in his ear, "I love you too."

Jack froze. He kissed Ralph gently before he let go, only holding onto his hand.

"We should go," he murmured, tugging Ralph back to the car.

Ralph sat there, confused, "How about we get something to eat?"

"Nah, I don't have any money," Jack said.

"Well, I can make you something," Ralph said.

"I should probably get the car back to Simon," Jack said.

"Oh, okay," Ralph said, shrinking in his seat as Jack turned up the radio.

Author's Note: Hello again, I realize it's a month late, but I had some real trouble with this chapter. Not sure why exactly. I went to Solo and Ensemble though! I only had two events. The golden boy of my school had thirteen. We get a bit insane when it comes to winning... Anyways, both of my events got a Division 1! Yay! I got a medal!

So, I have the rest of the story planned out, one more chapter after this, then an epilogue. Just bear with my laziness a bit longer! You can do it!
