Featured Word: Crush - Part 2: Try to write differently from normal. Either in a different tense, or from a different point of view...I don't care how you change your style, but try something different. Okay, this one was a real struggle. I've written in past and present tense, from the POV of both boys, Bobby, inanimate objects, an OFC, an OMC - about the only one I haven't tried is John and that's SO not happening. This one was even tougher than the dialogue, which I suck at. So this is what I came up with - and it's double, because she deserves it.
v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v
So dark. It had been dark forever, or so it seemed. She knew there was only one person who would ever believe she would even know the difference, but he had been gone for too long as well.
She wondered if he was alright. Wondered if he was lying hurt somewhere, or worse.
But there was no way, she refused to let that thought go any farther - he was smart. He was a survivor. He had been through things that would have crushed anyone else beyond repair. He would be okay.
He had to be.
But what if he couldn't come himself? Would the other one come for her? Would she be left in the dark until it all ended?
No. He would come back for her, she couldn't wait to see his face when he saw her again. She just had to be patient.
It was so hard though. She loved him every bit as much as he loved her, and she had to admit she loved hearing the other one tease him for it.
Her boy would come back for her. He always did. Until then, Baby would sit in the dark and remember the good times.
