Hi guys:) sorry for the mistakes if there are any, this is just some midnight rambling. If I edit it I wi do it tomorrow:)

Ino is in love with two boys, that don't love her back. She could have any boy of her choosing in Konoha, but instead she falls for the two that could never look at her the way she looks at them. As she tosses and turns in bed, she can't help but wonder why she was plagued to fall in love with them. To love the only two that could never love her back.

First, she fell in love with him. With his cold charisma and dark eyes, every girl in Konoha was infatuated with him at one time or another, but none fell farther than she. She felt a connection almost to him. She knew of his dream, rather his ambition, but that just made her attracted to him in an even more dangerous way-she had fallen for the stereotypical misunderstood dark knight, just like every doe-red mistress in every dumb book did. Did Ino misunderstand him? All she knew was that knot that twisted in her stomach, or the fluttering of her heart that she felt when she saw him was not a misunderstanding.

She understood too, that he could never love her back. He was too obsessed with his dream, his ambition. He could never fall in love with her because his heart was already consumed by revenge. There was no room for her, and she knew there never would be.

Then, she fell in love with the other. It happened slowly, but surely, and she want sure when but suddenly she saw him in a different light. Instead of her bratty childhood friend, she saw him as a man, mapping out various battle plans and giving orders to those lower ranked. He wasn't nearly as lazy, and he stepped up. Instead of whispering his trademark "Mendokuse" under his breath whenever she asked him for help, he simply laid out whatever she needed help understanding and led her through it, step by step. She soon found herself pretending not to know things in order to just tall to him more. With heir own teams to lead and own affairs to take care, they hardly spent time together anymore. Secretly she prayed for an opportunity so dire that ShikaInoCho was needed again, and she could fall back into his arms knowing that he would catch her, and after retreating successfully back to her own body, shed blink open her blue eyes and see his stating back at her.

But the look he gave her when he looked at her was never like the ones she gave him. His was of comradeship, of friendship, of seeing. Never a look of love, or lust, or understanding. The smartest man in Konoha could not see that she loved him. He could never love her, because the bond of friendship they shared was too precious to break. And she understood that too.

So she watched, simply from behind, as her first trudged into the unknown, vengeful eyes downcast as he left the village, heart heavy with revenge and anger-a heart that had no room, and could never love her.

She watched, as her second courted and eventually married that hot-headed fierce blonde from Suna, one that reminds her a little too much of herself. Eventually, she would become withdrawn from her best friend, and instead spend the nights out on the town by herself, flirting with strange men, drinking her fill, and waking up the next morning in a stranger's bed.

Her first love, and her last. Two totally different men, yet she knew neither could ever love her. And she knew that she would hold her head up and live with it, even if it ate her from the inside out.
