Ch a8: Negotiations
"Viel Alanna this parties over!" Yin called feeling ancient wisdom radiate off the firebirds. In his heart Yin knew that this form is what all fire should be not ravenous maelstrom of heat but living thinking intelligence. Their presence filled Yin with a commanding flame of power as he cast aside a Roman soldier with a flick of his blade. Alanna and Viel didn't ask questions as Yin leaped on the snowmobile revving the engine. "Viel escape plan!"
"But I'm not done!" she wined smacking a Greek with her bat sending him flying. "The parties still going!"
"Leave it to the fire to finish we leave now cut are loses!" Yin called as Alanna leaped on behind him. "Besides it's time."
The two locked eyes in silent agreement 'fire birds good run like hell'. Viel sighed with a node. "Don't worry Viel have escape plan."
"Good!" Yin hit the throttle blasting him and Alanna off into the Alaskan twilight. Alanna held Yin tight as they rode she was clearly shaken up from the all out fight they'd just been through. After ten minutes of silence Yin spoke again. "You did great Alanna."
"Yeah right I over did myself way to early I could barely take one injured guy on when you were doing your fire thing... Anyway how did you do that anyways?"
"My father is Prometheus his gift to man was knowledge through fire his version was immortal living breathing. Not what man uses today which is mindless in its attempt to burn and keep burning." Yin took a deep breath. "Though it remembers my father and its once infamous power."
"So fire respects you?" Alanna asked giggling a bit.
"Yeah what I did back there was reminding fire what it once was when even gods respected it." Yin said feeling a bit sad as the last bit of their flames died. "I gave it knowledge it had forgotten."
"Wow..." Alanna said wondering how Yin was even related to Yang a muscle bound idiot in comparison too his brother. "Can Yang do the same things as you?"
"Yeah I guess we are the sons of Prometheus..." Yin said tilting his head in the failing light of Alaska. It was funny kind of how Yin always thought of Yang as the better warrior. Maybe he still was Yin didn't see himself smashing through shields anytime soon. Despite regular visits Yang was distant and above all not talking.
"Tree!" Alanna called causing Yin to curse as he evaded the massive pine. Yin shook his head ridding on into a massive clearing of a glacier off in the distance stood the icy black Stygian walls of Camp Kronos. As they approached the gates opened rushing forward was fifty teens clad in ancient Armor and weapons. Demi'se was at the ready holding his ancient silver sword forward expecting a fight.
"Let them through!" Demi'se called the line breaking as Yin and Alanna rode in. The snowmobile skidded to a stop Yin leaping off Neck Lacer springing too life as he joined Demi'se. "How many?"
"Maybe forty if they followed than only fifteen." Yin said calmly as Demi'se nodded. "So what do you know Demi'se."
"Forty three attacked you you disabled most only thirteen are capable of holding weapons only twelve of the fifteen can fight much less limp." Demi'se said eyeing the horizon.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Yin asked watching for any movement.
"If they were smart they called for backup." Demi'se said.
"And if they did?" Yin said not liking where this going already worn out from his first battle.
"We kill them." Demi'se replied coldly other demititan's around them shifting nervously. The idea of killing was visibly not shared by others while some grinned dangerously waiting for blood. Even Yin knew this would be Bad.
"Movement!" a Scout called as a line of orange and purple emerged from the tree line that crowned the horizon. "Orders?"
"Char... Wait..." Demi'se paused as a white flag was raised flapping in the Alaskan twilight. "This complicates things..."
"We need to meet them." Yin said glaring at Demi'se who had the face of someone thinking hard on how to burn someone without them knowing. "Preferably not me Alanna or Viel."
"It's settled I'll take you and Yang." Demi'se said his eyes narrowed. "Two sons of knowledge should work well."
"Whatever you say Demi'se." Yin sighed wanting to call him a dumbass but restrained himself. "Flich!"
"Yeah Sir!" a slim built demititan perked up as his name was called.
"Go get Yang from the Cell give him a chest plate and and ancient bronze sword." Yin ordered Flich nodded running off towards the Cell. "Demi'se give the order to raise a white flag."
"Fine." Demi'se growled not liking the idea. "Raise the white flag we will meet our opponents!"
The walk was longer then Yin expected as they approached the halfway point between both forces. Reyna narrowed he eyes as she saw Yin the girl had her right arm in a sling and a new blade stuck in snow. Yin put on his best smile Demi'se and Yang promoting him to master of debating.
"Gentlemen..." Reyna growled as Neck Lacer sprang into Yin's hand. "a sign of good faith?"
"Of course." Yin chucked his blade into the snow where it stuck Yang thrusted his play sword and Demi'se his Ancient silver blade. Reyna's had two companions one was blond with blue eyes and well tanned gripping an imperial gold gladius. The other was slimming almost scrawny with a spear. "We expect equal curtsey in return Roman's."
"I should kill you on the spot traitor for the Romans and Greeks you maimed." The blond growled gripping his gladius tightly.
"Tell me why should Rome or even Greece listen to Traitor Demigods?" the scrawny one snarled electing a chuckle from Demi'se and Yang who stood at Yin's sides. "What's so funny!?"
"Guess they didn't get the memo?" Yang said just loud enough to be heard.
"Well then perhaps a demonstration?" Demi'se said with a snarl.
"No we came here under a white flag both of our forces." Yin said calmly snapping them back too reason. "You've seen what three of us can do to Forty of you rash thinking won't solve this Reyna."
"Agh..." Reyna recoiled in surprise that Yin remembered her name. "Jason Octavian he... He has a point lose the weapons."
The two began to argue but Reyna raised her hand to silence them.
"Now that we are all in order shall I start?" Yin asked no one objecting. "Very well I'll make this short and sweet Reyna order all Roman and Greek troops out of Alaska or we will kill forty five troops every hour on the hour if you don't have more than forty five... Well that's your problem."
"Who the Hell do you think you're talking to!" the guy Jason blurted out static jumping around his purple hoodie Yin glared his blood boiling.
"Clearly the son of Jupiter... I fail to see why that would mean something too me." Yin said brushing off his rashness. Turning to Demi'se. "Blaze care to pipe in at all?"
"Yes Torch I would." Demi'se to Yin the three had chosen code names for this encounter. Yin was Torch Demi'se Blaze and Yang was Mace the three had come with a plan and now it was Demi'se's turn to move their audience. "As was said from are count you wont survive two hours even with your troops in the woods."
"I say we fight Rome has faced worse!" Octavian sneered his arm poised to grab his spear. "I say your full of bull even archers couldn't hit us from here."
"No? Blaze give the signal it's time to make a point I say ten will do." Yin said coldly Demi'se nodded pointing to the sky then making a one then closed his fingers making zero. "Prey they won't be missed."
"What do you-" Reyna was cut off by the whiz of arrows and the sound of ten bodies hitting the cold snow. "NO!"
"Reyna!" Jason called restraining the girl as she lunged for her blade. "Not now you saw that we don't have the numbers for this."
"I'll kill you! You traitor are eagles with tear you to shreds." Reyna screamed.
Yin snapped at eagles.
