Disclaimer; I don't own Harry Potter… I wish I did though :D :D

All right, hope you like this, I'm so in love with this ship right now!

The atmosphere in the common room was tense. Everybody was watching Seamus and me as we walked in, hands interlinked. The whisperings and mutterings were obvious. Ron saw us, and stormed out of the room. Harry sent us an apologetic look before he and Hermione rushed after the red head. Seamus and I sat on a soft red-plush sofa, very much aware of the fingers pointing at us. It was only 12, too late for breakfast, too early for lunch. So we sat there, enduring the whispers and pointing in silence. I could feel Seamus's hand tense in mine; he was never one for controlling his temper. But he managed, and although once or twice I felt him attempt to stand up, he didn't. Finally, the clock read quarter to one, and we felt it a suitable time to leave for lunch. We walked down to lunch. Although gossip spread like fiendfyre at Hogwarts, it seemed this hadn't quite escaped Gryffindor yet. We enjoyed walking down to the Great Hall, free of stares, our clasped hands hidden beneath our robes. It was peaceful; before we ran into Draco Malfoy anyway.
"So leprechaun" he sneered. "Thomas finally take you? Managed to wake half the castle in your desperation Finnegan" Seamus's normally cheerful eyes were filled with venom; I could see his left hand twitch for his wand.
"Ignore him Shay" I whispered, pulling him away.
"Yes, listen to your boyfriend filthy half-blood" mocked Malfoy. Seamus turned to him, about to- well, I don't know exactly, but it sure wasn't going to be good. I pulled him away, my blood boiling at what Malfoy had said. I dragged Seamus down to the hall, which was almost empty.
"I'm going to murder that ferret" grumbled Seamus. We sat down in our usual seats. I wrapped my arm around Seamus's waist, pulling him closer to me. I loved seeing the faint blush spread across his cheeks.
"Just ignore him, 'k?" I said. "He's not worth a detention." Seamus looked up at me, smiling.
"Come on" he said. I looked at him inquisitively. He stood up, grabbed a huge plate full of more than enough food for the both of us. He took my hand and led me out of the hall. We walked out of the castle, laughing and talking.
"Where are we going" I asked, only for him to laugh at me, shaking his head. Seamus led me past the spot where I had yelled at him last night and past the huge whomping willow. Our footsteps were crunching on the gravel path. After ten minutes, we arrived at a small a small beach. It was next to the black lake, and I'd never seen it before. A rock at the top and soft golden sand was gleaming in the sunlight. A picnic blanket lay on the beach.
"Shay..." I was speechless.
"I asked Neville to bring down the blanket earlier" he said, his famous lopsided grin making another appearance. He put the huge plate down beside the blanket, and we sat down on the blanket. I pulled Seamus into my arms, and he cuddled into them. We ate the sandwiches and cold cuts Seamus had nabbed us from the Hall. There was so much food, they could barely eat half.
"I'm so full" moaned Seamus. He held a ham and cheese sandwich, looking at it. "But I don't want to waste food". I laughed; Seamus and his love of food. I took the sandwich out of his hand and put it back on the plate. He looked at me, pouting. I chuckled, leaning down and kissing him. He stayed lick that for a few seconds before I felt his tongue on my lips, seeking entrance to my mouth. I let it immediately, moaning as it did. Seamus sat up to get into a better position, his lips locked on mine. He wrapped his hands around my waist, and I put mine on his back, as we pulled each other closer. He stayed like that for a few minutes, sitting on the blanket, kissing. It was what I'd always wanted, and it was a thousand times better than I could have imagined it would be. And it would have been perfect, if not for what happened next.
"What the fuck is going on here?" Seamus and I jumped apart. We turned and saw Zacharias Smith with some girl.
"Fucking queers!" he exclaimed. Seamus jumped up, wand drawn. I stood up beside him, my own wand out as well. Zacharias snarled.
"Lacero!" he shouted, wand pointed at me. To slow to defend myself, I felt a sharp shooting pain in my chest. I looked down and saw blood gushing out of my chest.
"Dean!" exclaimed Seamus.
"I'm fine" I said, but I could hear the blood pounding in my ears. I saw a fuzzy Seamus cast a shield charm, and felt myself lift on the ground, hearing Seamus mutter "Dean, Dean, can you hear me?" I was about to answer; but the blackness took me before I could.

I woke up in the white hospital room. Seamus was sitting next to me, my hand in his.
"Dean" he said, smiling weakly. "You're awake. You gave me such a fright Dean". I tried to sit up, but he pushed me back down.
"Rest" he said.
"It's not that serious Shay" I said, amused, but I didn't laugh, not when I saw the worry in his eyes.
"I don't care, you're going to rest. That bastard hurt you, you fainted Dean! And now, you're going to rest. Now wait here while I get Madame Pomfrey" Seamus got up, kissing me on the forehead, before he left. I lay there, staring at the ceiling, thinking of what had happened before Smith arrived. That kiss. There had been magic involved, I'd felt a spark when our lips met for the third time. Maybe it was because we were alone, maybe it was that we finally knew how the other felt, but whatever the reason, it had been the most amazing moment of my life. I was interrupted from my daydream by Seamus and Madame Pomfrey arriving back.
"Ahh, Dean" said the nurse. "Feeling better I presume?" I nodded. "All right, luckily you were only out for two hours or so, so you can return to your dormitory once you're ready." smiling at us both, she left and returned to her office. This time when I got up, Seamus didn't stop me, though he did look slightly angry.
"She should have kept you in overnight" he muttered "just in ca-"
"No Shay" I said. "I'm fine". That wasn't 100% true. I still felt a dull pain in my chest, and a sharp stabbing one when I moved to suddenly. But with Seamus's help, I made it to the common room. I protested when he led me upstairs instead of sitting me in one of the armchairs, but I could hardly stop him. He led me up to our dorm and sat me down on the bed.
"It's my chest that's hurt Shay, not me legs" I grumbled, but he ignored me. He found me some red pyjamas from my trunk and threw them at me. I hastily pulled off my jeans and yanked on the pyjama bottoms. I took off my t-shirt, and lay down on the bed. It was always to hot in the dorms to sleep with t-shirt on. I noticed Seamus staring at me and grinned.
"Like what you see?"
Seamus blushed as I said it.
"I was looking at that bandage Dean; it's huge" I looked down and saw it. It was pretty big. It covered my shoulder and the top part of my chest. I smiled sheepishly at Seamus.
"Well at least I had you to protect me Shay"
"I shouldn't have let this happen to you, I should have protected you, I should have-"
"Seamus" I interrupted. "Stop, now" This was not your fault. It's Smiths, and don't blame yourself, please" I smiled and patted the place beside me on the bed. He sat down, and rested his head on my stomach, careful not to hurt me. We stated like that for a few minutes as I played with his sandy hair. He still looked guilty, but gradually his face was lightening. He was smiling and staring at the wall opposite us and a look at the clock told us it that it was only five o'clock, much too early to go to bed. In fact, it was too early for dinner even. So we sat there, until a few minutes later, the door opened. Harry and Ron walked in, laughing. Ron stopped abruptly when he saw us, but Harry smiled warmly. Or at least, until he saw my chest.
"Dean! What happened?" he asked. I was about to answer before Seamus did.
"That stupid homophobic dick Zacharias Smith happened!" he said, angrily.
"Smith did that to you?" asked Harry. Ron didn't say anything, in fact he was pretending not to listen. But I do think I saw his eyes widen when Seamus said that. Harry was looking at me incredulously, so I nodded, wincing slightly as I did.
"What- what happened?" he asked. Seamus told them the story, leaving out some details. Harry looked furious.
"But why?" asked Harry.
"I think I said it" answered Seamus "he's a homophobic dick!" I could feel Seamus shaking with anger, and I resumed stroking his hair in an attempt to calm him.
"Right, that's it" said Harry "I'm going to find Smith" Seamus leapt up to join him, but I protested.
"Guys! No!" I said. I stood up, too quickly and had to stop for a second. Luckily Seamus and Harry caught me, or I would have fallen over. "Don't go looking for a fight. It's stupid, immature and we don't want to sink to his level"
"Sit down Dean" said Harry, pushing me lightly back onto the bed. I sat down angrily, keeping an eye on both of the short tempered boys, making them promise they wouldn't run off. Sighing, Harry sat down in the bed.
"Better get started on that Charms essay" he grumbled. Oh Merlin.
"Damn it!" I said, trying to stand up, only to have Seamus push me back down again.
"What is it?" he asked.
"I still have to wrote another foot on that essay, and I haven't even started Potions yet. I need my bag Shay"
"What Potions essay?" he asked.
"The one about the essence of moonstone?" It seemed to click in Seamus's head.
"Right! I'll go get our bags" he kissed my cheek, which o could feel reddening, and ran out of the room. Moments later, he returned, carrying my black rucksack, and his green one. He sat carefully on my bed, and I hoisted myself up, wincing at the shooting pain in my chest. Seamus glanced at me worriedly, but I just rolled my eyes. Rummaging in my bag, I found the two-thirds finished Charms essay and a quill. I quickly began to continue the essay, though it was hard to concentrate with Seamus sitting so close to me. Being left handed, my left and his right hand were held as we wrote. After about half an hour, I managed to finish the charms essay and make a start on the potions one. It took me about a line to get stuck. Glancing at Seamus, I saw that he had written even less than me, and looking at Harry, I saw he had only written the title.
"Well I think we should find Hermione" I said. Nodding in agreement, the two boys stood up. Seamus took my hand and helped me up, as I grumbled.
"Again, I say it; it's my chest, not my legs Shay."
"Don't care" he answered cockily. I pulled on a t-shirt before I started to walk slowly towards the door. Here in Gryffindor we saw each other in out pyjamas all the time, it was no big deal. I heard Harry ask Ron whether he wanted to come, and he mumbled incoherently in reply, which Harry took as a no. Seamus wrapped hid hand around my waist to steady me, and though I grumbled, I didn't mind really.

We made slow progress down the stairs, mainly due to the amount of people coming up. Finally we reached the common room. We immediately found our bushy haired friend; she was sitting at a table knitting furiously. I didn't want to disturb her, but Seamus plopped me down right in front of her. She looked up and saw us.
"Dean! I was so worried!"
"Oh Godric no" I said, banging my head on th table. "He's told everyone hasn't he?" I looked at her, and she nodded slowly.
"Yes, Smith has been bragging all day long. But lots of people think what he did was disgusting, as do I" I looked at her.
"Lots, but not all. So about how many?" Seamus asked. He had slid into the chair next to me, and taken my hand under the table.
"About half" answered the witch, nervously.
"Shit" said Seamus, banging his head on the table.
"Shay" I said "calm down." Turning to Hermione, I asked her to help us with our potions essays. Two hours later, we were done. It was now eight o'clock. I could practically hear Seamus's stomach grumbling.
"Shay, go eat" I urged. "Go with Harry and Hermione, please, you're starving"
"I don't want to leave you alone D-" I cut him off.
"Go. Eat. My little Irishman needs his strength." I pushed him lightly over to the pair, who were leaving the common room. Looking at the stairs, I sighed. How was I going to climb these? Luckily I was saved by Neville walking in. He helped me up. He was alarmingly stable, despite being unable to walk on his own two feet. Maybe he just needs two more.

I collapsed painfully into my bed when he got to the dorm. It was stifling up there, and I pulled off my t-shirt. Ron was still there, struggling with his homework. Neville smiled at me, and I thanked him for helping. He then went down to the common room, leaving Ron and me alone. Ron glanced at me and looked like he was about to say something, but thought better of it. I lay on the bed, both of us silent, only the sound of the scratching quill. After twenty minutes, Seamus burst in, carrying a plate of food. I looked at him, smiling.
"Really Shay?" I asked, as he sat down on me bed, handing me the plate. It was a warm lasagne, and he handed me a glass of pumpkin juice. I sat up, and started to eat.
"See, you're hungry, you needed it." He was telling the truth. I hadn't thought that he was right until I took my first bite. I hadn't eaten in hours, and the lasagne was perfect. I was finished my meal within minutes, feeling much better. I put the plate down, sure someone would put it away at some time. Seamus lay down now that I was finished, head on my stomach again. We lay there silently for a few minutes, before Harry and Neville returned. They quickly got changed into their pyjamas, as Ron got of his bed and took his pyjamas into the bathroom. Looking at each other, Neville and Harry sighed. It was only nine o'clock, but I think we'd all decided that it had been a long enough day. Seamus got up and quickly got changed. He bent down and kissed me on the lips.
"Night Dean" he said, smiling.
"Night Shay" I smiled back at him. He, Neville and Harry clambered into their beds. We all lay silently, thinking of the events of the day. I drifted off to sleep, a smile plastered on my face.
