Things go a bit differently after Ozai's defeat. Heartbreak forces Aang to consider a different way to restore balance to the world and within himself. If you enjoy political maneuvering and world exploration and angst and romance, you might like this. Eventual Kataang, but it'll be a bit bumpy on the way.

But then everything goes horribly wrong, and a boy sacrifices himself to save her. She brings him back to life with magic, but at costs not even she could've imagined. AU based upon the movie 大鱼海棠. "Aang was in a tough spot, he wasn't ready at all to heal someone spiritually when he needed spiritual healing himself, the things that he's been through hurt him, he had this nagging feeling that this would end up no different, but he had to do it for Zuko." It's a busy day in the emergency department for Dr Katara, but the day takes a sudden turn for the worse when the code red alarm rings. Someone must've been in a horrific accident. When Katara joins the crowd of doctors huddling around a patient bed, the last person she expected it to be is her husband that she hasn't seen in 5 years, Aang. Bitter and conflicted feelings arise.

Katara runs into Zuko after the Ember Island play and accidentally admits that she finds him attractive. Fluff ensues in which Katara tells Zuko exactly what she thinks of his scar in more ways than one...

Zuko and Katara's fates after the war seem pretty much settled. Zuko is off to become Fire Lord and ultimately marry Mai. Katara is off with Aang to travel the world and perhaps teach water bending.
