Annie's P.O.V
A twist in the plot, we are in charge. We, the victors, the ones who can't face the sight of an everyday kitchen knife, are in charge of the Hunger games for one year, that's all I need.
We get to who lives and who dies, whose family give thanks or get hell. To keep the revolution at bay, for now but we can wait, we have waited for years `not now but soon', the words of the revolution, 3 years after the last quarter quell, after I lost the only one who could rid my nights of the screams threatening to rid me of my last breath, another corner in the dingy labyrinth that is the mind of president snow, a new dawn is here.
All of us, those with barely enough feeling to move our fingers, have had a `meeting' to discuss what we are going to do this hunger games, though secretly we all have already made up our minds and we are all in agreement without a single word being uttered.
All we say is who will be given what job. I have volunteered to reap the tributes, I don't know why but I felt I owed in some kind of weird way, to show that even if you're `crazy' you can still make it out alive, it's not much hope but it's more than I had.
It's the capitols turn to hide at night, to walk through their memories with forlorn faces and sullen hearts. The day has come and as I stand proud, no not pride, more like a sense of righteousness and as if it would be wrong if someone else stood here.
After all of the necessities have been done with I start going through the names, by the second from last pair have been called and I reach in to the male names for the last time I get a sudden memory rise to the brink of my brain...Finnick.
"Hey, A ,promise me something?"
"Anything"
"Never ever sink as low as the capitol please you are perfect as you are"
"Craziness?"
"Craziness and all"
The pang of loss in my chest, as always when HE occupies my thoughts. I'm sorry Finnick I have failed you. Maybe that was what drove me to do the stupidest thing ever. If I ate a sandwich which I know for a fact had poison in it, this would still be the stupidest thing I've done in all my life.
