A quick excursion to an abandoned ADVENT Outpost in the Appalachian Mountains turned Black Market gives Bradford and his team more than they bargained for. It also leads to a discovery he wasn't expecting to find so soon. New allies and new adversaries bring new troubles for the mind and heart. - This is the "new" and more canon version for this AU idea.

Story time with the crew and past loose lips from Bradford's more "drunken" moments leads to him having to explain a particular incident involving him and Jynn in their youth.

Deep within what remained of the Asian XCOM branch, off in one of those still operation workshops, Zhang finds his usually quiet workspace intruded upon by some visitors. Small visitors.

Back during the Old War. Though the man would like to be alone, Geist finds Zhang mulling on the cliffside nearby the Hazard Course to have a chat. Apologies for earlier psionic training gone wrong and then a moment to discuss their possible futures once the war is won.

After escaping the Advent mega-city of New Providence, a scientist buys his way into a resistance cell operating within the City-23 Contagion Zone. Hoping to avoid further contact with his former viper creations, the man is thrust into a role that could very well change his outlook on vipers, and force him to face a ghost from his past. Dawn Conley is one such- an eighteen year old straight out of high school, with extremely high telepathic capabilities, and carries a unique skill only a few can master-biopathy. This is her story. Based off of Xabiar's XCOM: The Advent Directive fanfiction.

When aliens begin an invasion of Earth, the XCOM project is activated in a desperate attempt to slow the incursion and save humanity. The world broke in the past thirteen years of Advent occupation; scattered remnants of camps, patrolling Advent units in the wild, groups of scavengers. It is clear to Luis, an ex-military survivor, that the world has truly lost its way. Alas, there is a certain wonder to the experience of consciousness, one that a viper, freshly separated from Advent, will not let go to waste.

The Elders wanted a poster unit, something to show humanity they could be trusted, and so the 77th Human Volunteer Group was born. The war for Humanity's autonomy is over, the alien despots of Advent have been overthrown by Xcom and a new age is on the horizon. However, world changing events do not occur without a price. Power vacuums were created in Advent's absence, their alien pawns, once completely under control, now have found their own autonomy. a young man, from humble beginnings, can NOT fix this.
