Fabian's Pov
I was still in shock Nina had said yes to marry me. The most amazing, beautiful, funny, smart and kind girl in the world is going to be with me… forever. We were in paradise in the kitchen when the door burst open in the foyer;
"Fabian!" it was a girl's voice
"Fabian!" she called again
Joy came into the kitchen, looking very happy. She threw her arms around me and gave me a hug.
"I missed you, Fabes" she smiled
Nina coughed, 'Ah-hem!'
I pried Joy off me and looked at Nina, who didn't look quite as happy as she did five minutes ago. Then I looked at a confused Joy.
"Is… Is there something I don't know?" Joy asked, raising an eyebrow
"Joy, this is my Nina. She's my fiancé" I smiled
"What do you mean 'fiancé?" asked Joy
"We're getting married" I nodded
"Nice to meet you" Nina put her hand out, the hand with the ring on it, for Joy to shake it but, Joy saw the ring and left her hanging. Nina put her hand down and said; "So how long have you been going to Anubis?"
"A much longer time than you" Joy snipped
"Sorry?" Nina asked
"Oh, nothing… You do realize, Fabian, you're in 12th grade? What's the hurry to get married?" Joy asked
I took a step towards Nina again, who had drifted a couple feet away, and put my arm around her, which made her smile.
"Because she's the best thing that's ever happened to me and I love her more every single day" I pulled her closer so that she could wrap her arm around my waist.
"So, and I don't mean to be rude by saying this but;" Nina started "Why are you here so early? Fabian and I were expecting the house to our own for a little while"
"Oh" Joy started "I'm dropping off a letter"
"Who's it to? I can give it to Victor or Trudy; they just left to run errands" Nina stuck her hand out
"No, it was actually to Fabian but, I kind of regret coming now. I'm staying in Osiris now, I guess Nina here took my place here so, bye" she left the room.
I'm still not sure to this day what her letter said. That was the last I had really heard from her. On one hand, I was glad she wasn't going to ruin the wedding, on the other hand; it kills me to figure out what she tried to tell me.
"So… why don't we stay home today, yeah?" I asked, trying to avoid the subject of what just happened
"Um…" Nina looked me over once, smiled and said "Will do"
"Do you want to watch a film?" I asked
"Sure" she nodded "I'll go see what I have" she sprang out of the room and out of sight
I went into the common area and sat on the sofa and waited a few minutes before Nina came stumbling back into the room with a cardboard box full of DVDs, nearly tripping over every step. She nearly fell on her face if I hadn't have caught her on that last step.
She nuzzled in next to me under my arm as she put the box on my lap. I looked through the box;
"You can pick" she nodded
"How about I pick one at random?" I asked
I closed my eyes and pulled out a case. I opened my eyes…
"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"
"It was my favorite movie as a kid" She said
"Then I'm glad to be watching it with you" I smiled at her
I put the film and the DVD player and waited for it to start up;
"Oh, and I do apologize in advance for singing along to every song. I basically know the whole movie by start" she laughed
"I don't care, I love to hear you sing"
The film played and Nina sang along to every Ompa Loompa song in happiness. I nearly bust a gut when she got up and did the ridiculous squat-dance singing;
"Ompa Loompa, doompa-dee-dee
I've a got a perfect puzzle for thy"
She plopped back onto the sofa next to me and laughed when she finished her 'grand finale' and put her head on my shoulder as Charlie rode in the fantastic glass elevator to his family. Every time I see this movie since then, I still think of this rainy August Tuesday morning. The pitter-patter of raindrops started outside around an hour into the movie. I'm not sure if it was just me but, when I'm inside when it's raining, half of me feels safe from the danger but the other half just makes me just want to run into the storm.
"So what do you want to watch next?" asked Nina
"You pick this time" I handed her the box and she closed her eyes
She pulled a case out and laughed her head off before showing the cover to me;
"Dragon Tales?" I asked "What is that?"
On the cover there was four colorful dragons, one very old and large gold one, a not quite as large blue one, a small and girlish pink one and a half green/purple two headed one. There were also a small boy and a small girl holding a rainbow stone in a gold box and the whole thing was animated. It looked like a kids program.
"It was my favorite show as a little girl. I used to wish that I was Emmy or Max so I could go to Dragon Land" she giggled
"I don't know about you but, I would love to see your childhood after the whole… car dealership incident"
"Okay" She put the disc in and sat back down next to me
Then she started to sing along again;
"Emmy wished on a dragon scale,
And that's what started Dragon Tales.
Around the room the dragons flew,
But Emmy and Max knew what to do.
They climbed on the backs of their dragon friends,
Now the adventures never end!

Seeing her so giddy and excited made me just smile. It made me feel not so crazy that I found my true love before most people are ready to settle down. I was just glad to see her smile. I would have done anything and to this day I still will do anything to keep that smile on her face forever.
