Hey! So this is my new one-shot! I've had this in my head for a while and felt that I needed to do a little Reyna-centric fic. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own anything...
The battle was complete chaos and there was so much noise. Reyna had fighting like a machine. Her arms ached so much and her head hurt so bad, but she knew that if she stopped for a second, she would be overun.
Scipio dived at the giant again.
They were at Camp Jupiter, holding back the army of monsters. Below her, Polybotes roared and swatted at the soldiers on the ground. Before he could knock their formation over, Reyna stabbed the giant in the neck. He roared and swung at her. Scipio dropped down to the ground before Polybotes could hit them.
Suddenly there was a huge commotion on the other side. There was a flash of blue light and the screams stopped. An icy chill was traveling down Reyna's spine. She made sure that Polybotes was taken care of before jumping off Scipio and running towards the center of chaos.
She saw a clump of campers frozen. Literally, frozen and not moving. Reyna heard a laugh behind her.
"Oh, dear. This makes things slightly awkward." Circe smiled.
The praetor took a step back and raised her dagger. This was not a good time to be immersed in her past. Circe smiled.
Reyna scowled. "How did you-"
"My dear, Gaea obviously needs me more than the gods did. My patron pulled me out of The Underworld."
"Why are you doing this?" Reyna could start to see campers overcome around her, out of the corner of her eye. That was good. She looked around at the frozen campers and her heart hardened. "Circe, turn them back."
The sorceress's eyes darkened. "Reyna, there was a time when you were like my daughter. Now, you trust males, your sister has rightly joined the Amazons without you, and you are friends with Percy Jackson. He was the reason that I died."
"Circe, it was the pirates."
"Reyna, tell me this. Would. They. Have. Escaped. Without. Percy?"
As usual, Reyna couldn't argue with Circe. Same as it was was six years ago. "I..."
"I'm sorry, Reyna." Circe threw a spell at Reyna. The praetor dodged it and threw her dagger straight at Circe's heart. Her aim was dead on.
The sorceress fell dead and the frozen campers regained consiousness.
Reyna stood over her. "I'm sorry, fighting was never really your thing, was it?"
Reyna grimaced bitterly. "You're in my past, nothing more."
