People, people are scared of a lot of things. People are scared of death, people are scared of natural disasters, people are scared of animals, you get my point don't you! Well you know what Lucy was scared of? Lucy was scared of the chance of people losing faith in what they believe in. Lucy was scared of the chance of people losing faith in the people that they care about. Lucy was scared of the chance of somebody losing faith in themselves. She wasn't worried about death, or pain, or thunderstorms. To her, those were trivial compared to the bigger picture, faith. She used to be scared of the same things as everybody else, even Peter was scared of death! But that was before she went to Narnia. She grew up, and she learned that death was a part of life. She knew that thunderstorms were a part of nature. She knew that pain was an emotion, and that if you can't feel pain, there is something wrong. She grew up and learned all these things. But nobody, nobody has ever stopped to think, "What if somebody loses faith in themselves?" She knew that if somebody didn't have faith in themselves, well, that could just lead them over the edge. She knew that losing faith could break somebody's spirit. She knew that losing faith would be the one thing that brings people one step further away from what they believed in. So yes, she may be worried about death, about thunderstorms, and about painful stomachs, but she was scared of losing faith.
