Wow, this story is seriously moving along a lot better than I thought it would! I just can't stop writing it. It's like my mind having a creative throw up session onto the keyboard. You're welcome for that mental image.

Chapter 3: Good Morning

Jade only got three hours of sleep the first night she'd had the mermaid in her life.

She'd gotten home at 5:30 in the morning and she'd planned to sleep well into the afternoon, but the bubbly creature apparently didn't have to sleep. She had other plans for Jade.

Jade had been awakened at 8:30 that morning by the mermaid. The naked girl straddled her hips and she leaned over Jade, her hands on either side of Jade's face supporting her weight. Tori's face was only a few inches from Jade's and she stared down at the Goth with a happy grin.

"Wake up, My Jolly Sailor Bold! Good Morning!" Tori giggled happily, humming the beginnings of 'My Jolly Sailor Bold' to herself.

Jade groaned and shifted under Tori. She yawned bringing her hand up to her eye to rub away the morning crust that glued her eyes shut.

Her eyes began adjusting to the bright light that filled her room. Wait, that wasn't right. Her room was never bright. Jade groaned Tori must have thrown aside her heavy black curtains and opened up the blinds.

It was then that she noticed the figure looming over her. She jumped out of surprise and her head collided with the other girl's.

Both girls let out a hiss and Tori rolled off of Jade onto the sheets. Each girl massaged their foreheads.

"If you wanted me to get off all you had to do was say so! You didn't have to headbutt me." Tori frowned and stopped massaging her forehead, looking over at the singer.

Jade sighed and looked over at Tori, her eyes ran from head to toe on the mermaid, "Believe me. I wouldn't intentionally try to get your naked body off of me. I'd be a fool if I did."

Tori raised her eyebrows at the girl's blatant observation of her naked form and her innocent smile slowly turned into a knowing smirk. She licked her lips and she leaned closer to Jade, her eyes flickering from Jade's to her lips.

Jade held her breath as Tori began leaning closer to her. She felt the mermaid's smooth hand on her hip and she was upset she decided to wear sweatpants to bed. The tan girl leaned close and Jade felt her eyes flutter closed.

Jade felt those warm, soft lips press gently to her forehead. She opened her eyes and looked at Tori who was giggling slightly.

"I hope your head feels better." Tori stood up off of the bed and put her hands on her hips. Shifting her weight to one leg, she looked down at Jade and nodded her head towards the ceiling in a 'get up' gesture. "Come on, time for you to get dressed and ready."

Jade rose up off the bed, heading to her dresser and scoffed, "Speak for yourself, you're the one who is naked." She collected her clothing and moved to the connecting door to her bedroom that leads to the bathroom.

Tori waved a hand, "I've got that covered. I called the pizza delivery boy from the phone book and I," she gave a light, knowing giggle, "convinced him to buy me some clothes and bring them here. He should be here any minute actually. Now, go shower. I don't want to be kept waiting."

The Goth opened her mouth to ask how she convinced the delivery boy to buy her clothes, but the doorbell rang through the house and Tori shooed Jade into the bathroom.

Tori threw on Jade's large fluffy black robe and tied it around her waist. She hummed happily to herself as she ran down the stairs to the door. She opened it and saw a dazed looking pizza delivery boy who was carrying about a dozen shopping bags in his arms.

"Aw, you're so sweet! Thank you!" Tori continued humming and motioned for the boy to put the bags inside the house by the door.

The boy did so and he looked confused as he looked at Tori. The girl smiled at him and began singing softly:

"My heart is pierced by Cupid
I disdain all glittering gold
There is nothing can console me
But my jolly sailor bold."

The pizza boy's eyes widened and his mouth hung open as he stared blankly ahead at Tori. He just stood there, hypnotized by the mermaid's bewitching voice.

"Thank you for the clothes. Forget you ever got them for me. Forget that you ever saw me. Forget this entire experience. Now, I want you to turn around."

The pizza boy turned one hundred and eighty degrees on his heel. He faced the open door that lead to Jade's yard and he waited for further instruction.

"I want you to go to your car and drive back to your job and say that there was no one at the house that ordered the pizza."

He responded in a monotonous tone, "There was no one at the house that ordered the pizza."

Tori smiled and continued, "Very good. Now leave and forget me."

The boy walked swiftly, but stiffly and exited the house.

Tori smiled to herself and grabbed the bags heading up the stairs, "I've still got it."

…

Jade was already dressed when she exited the steamy bathroom. She wore a black and purple plaid button down and had her sleeves rolled up to her elbows. Her strong legs were clad in a pair of skin tight, black denim jeans.

When she entered her connecting bedroom, she saw Tori perched on the edge of her bed. To her surprise she was wearing actual clothes. Sure, Tori exposed more skin than most girls probably would, but it was still a step up from being totally nude.

She wore a beautiful teal off-the-shoulder top that when she moved certain ways she exposed her flat stomach. She matched that with a pair of white short-shorts that made her legs seem incredibly tan and long.

Tori smiled warmly at Jade and gave a twirl to show Jade her entire appearance, "Like?"

Jade's eyebrows rose up and she blinked, "Yeah, I mean, you look beautiful. As usual."

Tori giggled and went over to Jade grabbing her hand and leading her from the room, "Thank you! You look pretty gorgeous yourself," Tori paused and smirked, "for a human."

Jade was about to respond when she noticed that the house was empty other than the two girls, "Where is my father?"

Tori gave Jade's hand a squeeze and shrugged, "While you were asleep last night, I told him it would be a good idea for him to take a vacation for a while. He left you about fifteen thousand dollars for shopping and what not…"

Tori trailed off and went to put her new flip-flops on as Jade watched her with disbelief.

"You're… unbelievable. How did you do that?"

Tori's teeth tugged nervously on her bottom lip and she looked out the window, "Well, you see, mermaids have hypnotic properties in their voices when we sing. That's how we lure sailors to the depths with us to reproduce and feed."

Jade swallowed and shook her head, "Why couldn't you have eaten my dad?"

Tori's serious expression quickly changed into a smile and she laughed, "Because I have better taste in men than that."

…

"I've got so many plans for this week you have no idea! Today we're going to the mall and-" Tori's peppy voice was cut off by Jade's cold one.

"Look, that's great and all, but I need a cup of coffee before I shoot myself." Tori narrowed her brown eyes at Jade's word choice and the Goth sighed, "Fine, I need a cup of coffee before I 'pass out'."

Tori grabbed Jade's hand that rest on the shifter and she hummed happily, "Tell me something interesting about yourself."

"I have photographic memory."

Tori nodded and the pair continued their chit-chat until Jade pulled into the drive-through portion of the Starbucks.

"What can I get you?" A woman asked from the speaker and Tori lost it.

"Where'd that voice come from?" The brunette looked around wildly.

Jade sighed and pointed at the metal box, "From there. I'll have a coffee with two sugars."

"Will that be all?"

Jade looked at Tori and the brunette said to the box, "Can I get a water with about four spoons full of salt?"

Jade looked at her, blinking slightly at the odd request when the woman over the speaker said, "I'm sorry did you say a water with four spoons full of salt?"

Tori smiled and nodded happily, "Yep! Thank you mysterious box lady!"

Jade gave Tori an odd look, but drove up to the next window and paid for her coffee. Tori's water was free although the cashier gave her an odd look for the order.

They collected their drinks at the next window and Tori began drinking her water with a face of pure ecstasy, "I mean, it's not ocean water, but it will have to suffice."

The girls drank their drinks and became awake and ready for their day to start.

"Jade," the Goth looked over at the mermaid, "I hope you're prepared for the best week of your life."
