Part 22: Victory!
Ternion, the combined form of Cinderblock, Plasmus and Overload, stood before the Zodiac Knights in his monstrous glory. He was destruction and he lived for it. And at that very moment, he hungered for the destruction of the Teen Titans.
"Robin, remember when I told you we'd take back up when we needed it?" Draco asked Robin, while trying to choke out a gasp.
"Yes," Robin answered.
"WELL WE DAMN VERY WELL NEED IT NOW, BOY WONDER!" Draco yelled panicking.
"TITANS GO!"
Robin ran in front, Bo staff in hand. Raven and Starfire both flew in the air behind him. Terra and Jinx both got onto a nearby rock and Terra used her powers to raise them into the air, rock and all. Cyborg and Beast Boy both had gotten out of their sports commentator outfits and were ready for battle. Cyborg was aiming his sonic cannon at Ternion, while Beast Boy changed into an elephant and charged.
Ternion swung his arms wildly and delivered his fists into the Zodiac Knights, sending them crashing into nearby buildings.
"Draco!" Jinx jumped off the flying rock and went to Draco's fallen form. "You okay?" she asked, leaning her face closer to his.
"I'm fine, Jinx" Draco opened his eyes and noticed how close Jinx was to him. He blushed bright crimson under his helmet and gently shoved Jinx out of the way. "C'mon, we got to help the others!" Jinx nodded and they both ran to help their comrades.
"Take that and that and that and that!" Starfire yelled as she threw a barrage of Starbolts at Ternion. The starbolts were fueled with so much righteous fury, that they actually did a lot of damage to Ternion. However, with Plasmus' regenerative powers, the wounds healed. Ternion spat a stream of acid at Starfire, which Starfire barely dodged.
"Azerath, Metrion, ZINTHOS!" Raven chanted as she threw a nearby car, telekinetically, at Ternion. Ternion smacked the car away, right back at Raven. Raven had not time to chant her spell. Suddenly, she was pulled out of the way by Shadowcobra.
"Focus Raven!" Shadowcobra hissed, clearly showing how panicked he was. Raven was being cradled in his arms
"I was focused," Raven shot back, but then her lips curled into a small smile, "Thanks for the save though," she said as she blushed.
"No problem," Shadowcobra said. He was blushing under his helmet. He yelled at Pluto, who was on the ground with Beast Boy and Cyborg, "Pluto! I need to borrow Cerberus for awhile!"
Pluto, who was busy blasting at Ternion with a laser crossbow (Shoot Vent) yelled back, "What for?" he asked. Cyborg was still blasting with his sonic cannon and Beast Boy was acting like a one-man stampede, charging nonstop.
"Just trust me!" Shadowcobra then turned to Draco. "Draco, I need Dragonzer!"
"You got it Shadow!" Draco gave his friend a thumbs up.
"You know, you can put me down now," Raven said to Shadowcobra.
"My apologies." They both landed on the ground and Raven pulled her hood up to hide her blushing face.
"Thanks," she said.
"Don't mention it," Shadowcobra replied as he drew a card from his belt. He smiled under his helmet as he got what he needed.
"So what's your plan?" Raven asked.
Shadowcobra's faceplate slid open, revealing his face to her. He smirked at her and winked. "You'll see." And then his face was once again concealed as the faceplate slid back in place.
"Genosnaker!" Shadowcobra called out to his monster.
"Dragonzer! Go to Shadowcobra!" Draco called out and ordered his monster.
"Cerberus! Go to Shadowcobra!" Pluto called out and ordered his monster.
All three monsters obeyed their masters and stood in front of Shadowcobra. Shadowcobra revealed the card he had in his hand. "Fusion Vent!" he inserted the card into his scepter and then all three monsters glowed.
Robin threw a few electric and freeze discs at Ternion, but he smacked them away. Robin then swung his bo staff, but Ternion grabbed it and broke it in half.
"You're gonna pay for that!" Robin yelled as he threw a couple of explosive birdarangs at Ternion. They all flew into his mouth and detonated, causing an explosion within Ternion's mouth.
At the same time, both Jinx and Draco had sneaked up behind Ternion. Draco was still armed with his swords and shields.
"Okay, show em' why they call you Jinx," Draco told her. Jinx nodded and fired a hex at Ternion. Ternion turned and lunged towards them. However, under the effect of Jinx's hex, Ternion tripped and fell flat on his face. Terra used her earth moving abilities to create a crevice under Ternion, attempting to trap him, but Ternion rolled out of the way. Ternion roared and fired streams of acid and electricity at the Titans. The Titans took cover and Ternion gave chase. Suddenly, something grabbed Ternion from behind. Everyone was shocked as they saw another monster.
The monster stood on two legs and had three dragonheads on three long snake-like necks. Its body was covered in silver armor and a dragon tail came out of its rear. The claws on its hands and feet were razor sharp. On its back, a pair of leathery dragon wings flapped wildly. Both Shadowcobra and Raven were riding on the new monster's back. Raven was actually smiling and enjoying herself.
"Titans and Knights! I'd like to present you with GENOSIDER!" Shadowcobra announced. Genosider's three heads roared in affirmative as its strong arms still wrapped firmly around Ternion's body, pinning his arms to his sides. Ternion struggled, but Genosider was far too strong. Genosider flew up into the air as fast as a jet, carrying its lethal cargo and superhero passengers. When they were well above the city, Genosider let go of Ternion and Ternion fell, a good 100 feet, and landed on the hard, concrete road. A large crater formed on impact. Ternion rose up from the crater and roared. Shadowcobra drew a card and inserted it into his scepter.
"Final Vent!" Shodowcobra jumped off Genosider. Genosider spewed dark energy flames at Shadowocbra. "DOOMSDAY!" The dark energy enveloped Shadowcobra as he delivered a powerful drill kick into Ternion from above. He smashed right into Ternion and a huge explosion erupted.
(The effect of a Final Vent depends on the monster used at the time. Since Draco, Pluto and Shadowcobra's monsters were fused by Shadowcobra, he was given their power to use a new Final Vent attack)
The force of the impact was able to split Ternion back into Overload, Plasmus and Cinderblock.
Genosider landed. Shadowcobra held onto Raven's hand to help her down. They both blushed crimson, but were able to stay calm. They looked into the crater and saw the unconscious forms of Cinderblock, Overload and Plasmus. Plasmus had reverted into his human form and Overload was once again a harmless circuit board.
Robin turned to look at his teammates and then looked around the damaged part of town. A few buildings were destroyed, there was a large crater in the middle of the street and a crack in the ground.
His teammates were tired from the battle and dirty. A few of them had fresh wounds that needed to be tended to. Starfire stood next to him and smiled her beautiful smile at him.
"We are victorious!" she managed to say, tired as she was.
Slade watched at the Titans victory with anger. Copycat snickered, causing Slade to look angrily at her.
"What are you laughing at!" he asked the cat knight angrily
"Nothing but your failure Slade. I must admit that I was impressed for awhile. However, the Titans were still able to beat your men hands down," she chuckled.
"I suppose you can do better, apprentice?" Slade asked.
"Maybe," she clicked her claws.
"Good. Besides, this was just a test to see how good the Titans have become with the aid of the Zodiac Knights." Slade then walked away, leaving Copycat alone. Copycat snarled under her helmet, before she turned and left with Slade.
After the trio was brought into custody, and Genosider split back into Genosnaker, Cerberus and Dragonzer, the Titans retreated back to the Tower for some good earned rest.
Raven, Shadowcobra, Terra, Robin, Pluto and Starfire went back to their rooms to rest.
In the main room, Draco sat next to Jinx on the couch and rested his arm over her shoulders. Jinx leaned into his chest and smiled.
"You know about that date tonight," he began but was interrupted by Jinx.
She smiled brightly at him, "I can't wait," she continued, "I'll wear something nice," Jinx smirked as her eyes were staring at him suggestively.
"I'd like to see that," Draco was blushing. He was also getting very warm, since Jinx's face was very close to his. The moment was ruined though by both Cyborg and Beast Boy's snickering. "What?"
"Draco and Jinx sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love, then comes marriage, then-"
"Comes Beast Boy roasted on a fire!" Draco angrily threw fireballs at a panicking Beast Boy, who turned into a rat, running to avoid the barrage. Draco turned to Cyborg and formed a powerful fireball in his hand. "That means you too!"
"Yikes!" Cyborg ran towards his garage, panicking.
Now that the two were totally alone in the living room, Draco leaned closer to Jinx. Deep green emerald eyes were looking at bright pink ones. Jinx giggled as Draco wrapped his arms around Jinx and leaned forward. Jinx closed her eyes and fell backwards into the couch. Her hands found their way into Draco's long auburn hair and she stroked her fingers through it. They shared a beautiful and passionate kiss that seemed to last for days. Draco felt daring and slid his tongue into Jinx's mouth. Jinx's eyes widened in surprise, but then she relaxed as she too slid her own tongue into Draco's mouth. They made out passionately on top of the couch until Draco fell off the edge, pulling Jinx on top of him.
"Wow!" they both managed to gasp. They had forgotten they needed to breath, but they well enough enjoyed that kiss. Jinx got back on her feet. Draco pulled himself up and stood next to Jinx. They were both deeply affected by the kiss. They then looked away from each other, blushing beet red.
"See you tonight, then?" Draco asked, nervously.
"Sure."
They both retreated into their rooms, with a goofy grin plastered on both their faces. They hadn't realized that they had been spied on by a human/machine hybrid and a shapeshifting green elf.
