Part 23: The Date
Getting ready for his date with Jinx, Draco was going through his closet to find something appropriate. He was still in his red leather body suit. However, such attire was inappropriate for a date.
Draco's room was painted red, his favorite color. On the walls hung various Japanese and Chinese weapons and posters of his favorite movies. A magazine rack nearby was filled with his favorite magazines, mostly about martial arts. His laptop sat on the table, open, yet unused. Nearby, a sculpture of a dragon stood, looking majestic and frightening at the same time.
Draco was still trying to look for the right kind of clothes for his date. He threw out Chinese shirts, slacks and shirts alike. Finally, he found what he was looking for. He unzipped and slipped out of his uniform and started dressing up for Jinx.
Meanwhile, in Jinx's room (okay, I am not gonna describe it for anyone. If anyone has an idea of what the room should look like, please let me know). She stood in front of her full view mirror and smiled. However she frowned a little when she saw that her hairstyle, which was made up of two pigtails tied on top of her head, didn't fit the type of clothes she was wearing. She decided to remove the hair scrunchies and let her hair fall. She looked into the mirror and smiled. Draco would definitely freak out (in a good way) seeing her wear her hair down.
Draco was dressed in a sleeveless black shirt and dark blue slacks. On his feet he wore a pair of leather boots and he wore a pair of bracelets on his wrists. Around his neck, he wore a black buckled collar. His long auburn hair had been pulled back into a ponytail, but he let 2 unruly bangs stick out of his forehead. Satisfied with the way he looked, he exited his room.
Jinx was waiting in her room for Draco. She was getting impatient as the anticipation ate her up. A knock on the door got her attention. She ran and opened it to reveal Draco. Draco looked wide-eyed at Jinx. She was dressed in a black tube top with a matching miniskirt. The top barely reached her midriff and revealed her naval. She wore a pair of black boots; similar to the ones she always wore. Her usual black and blue stockings could also be seen. She wore a choker on her neck, with a "Ankh" hanging from it. She also wore a pair of black studded earrings. Her arms were concealed in fingerless black gloves that reached just past her elbows. And also, for the first time in his life, Draco saw Jinx with her hair down.
"Kawaii…" he managed to breathe out.
"What was that, Draco?" she asked, quirking an eyebrow.
"I mean…you look great, Jinx," he corrected himself.
((Oh c'mon, Aibou! Just admit that she's drop dead gorgeous!)) Yaminekoryu said from within Draco's mind.
((Shut it!)) Draco snapped at the demonic spirit. "So where should we go?" Jinx hooked her arm around Draco's and smiled cutely.
"Anywhere you want to go baby!" she said, giggling.
"Then let's go!"
Meanwhile, a trio of Titans (Pluto, Cyborg and Beast Boy) was spying on the couple through the elevator's built in camera. They chuckled at the romance and fluffiness. Unfortunately for them, they were found out by the Tower's two resident Goths, Shadowcobra and Raven.
"What are you idiots doing?" Shadowcobra said coldly, sending shivers up the trio's back and Raven's too (although for different reasons). The trio turned around and yelped at Shadowcobra's glowing blue eyes.
"Not much!" Pluto blurted out, obviously scared.
Raven interjected, "They were spying on Jinx and Draco."
Shadowcobra lifted an eyebrow. "Don't you know you shouldn't spy on people's private moments?"
"They're idiots. Private moments are like a video for them," Raven told him. Shadowcobra nodded.
"C'mon, Shadow! It won't hurt and he'll never know!" Pluto said.
"Not if I tell him. And Draco's patience is not something you want to challenge," Shadowcobra threatened. He then turned around and almost glided out of the room. Raven looked at him and cracked a small smile. She followed Shadowcobra to their usual meditation spot, on top of the roof.
"That was weird," Beast Boy said.
"And scary," Pluto added.
Cyborg turned back to the monitor, "Damn guys! We lost em'!"
Draco, stood with Jinx in front of the large Cineplex. Movies of every genre, ranging from drama, romance, horror, action, and comedy, were being shown that night. Jinx couldn't decide between a horror movie or a romance. Draco placed a hand around her, suggesting what type of movie they could watch. Jinx finally decided on a romance movie
Buying their tickets and snacks, Draco and Jinx walked into the dark movie theatre and took their seats. They did not know however, that they were being followed, unfortunately. Three mysterious figures, dressed in trench coats, walked into the movie theatre and took seats behind the couple. The mysterious figures (mysterious my ass! We all know who they are!) watched the couple intently as the movie started. Draco and Jinx held hands as they watched the movie together, bathing in the romantic atmosphere, that is, until a familiar yell came from behind them.
"Dude! This butter is made of cows' milk. Where's the soy butter?" A few annoyed "Shhhhhhhhh!" came coming from the rest of the patrons. Both Draco and Jinx sweatdropped as they realized who it was.
"Did that sound like who I thought it sounded like?" Draco whispered into Jinx's ear.
"Don't worry, Draco. I'll throw a subtle hex that will get him or them out of here, no time flat!" Jinx whispered back, grinning. Draco smiled at that. Jinx wiggled her fingers and targeted the pink mist of hex energy towards whoever was disturbing the peace.
Beast Boy had his mouth clamped shut by both Pluto and Cyborg, who were apologizing to the other patrons. Suddenly, a man came into the theatre and hastily told the three to leave. Draco and Jinx smiled at the result and continued to watch the movie. Draco's arm found its way around Jinx's shoulders and he left it there. Jinx leaned closer against him as they enjoyed each other's company throughout the whole movie.
Pluto, Cyborg and Beast Boy, all landed rather ungracefully on their butts as they were kicked out of the Cineplex. Superheroes or not, they still had to follow the rules. However, Beast Boy was undeterred (he was too stupid to give up on a dumb idea).
"Okay guys! After they get out of the Cineplex, let's keep on following them," Beast Boy suggested.
Pluto looked wide-eyed at Beast Boy. "BB! That's suicide, man!"
"BUT WE GOTTA SEE WHAT THEY'RE UP TO!" Beastboy exclaimed melodramatically.
This is gonna be a long night, Pluto and Cyborg thought at the same time
Stopping in front of one of the local nightclubs, Draco (Draco) asked Jinx if she wanted to dance. Her answer was in the form of the pink haired girl grabbing his arm and pulling him into the club.
Meanwhile, outside the club, the mysterious trio (we all know who they are), was still following the couple.
"Let's go guys!" Beast Boy ordered as he ran towards the club, only to be stopped by a mechanical hand grabbing his collar.
"Beast Boy, chill!" Cyborg told his friend, "We gotta lay low when they're in there. Besides, I don't think people usually go to nightclubs in trench coats." Cyborg said, mentioning the trench coats.
"We were getting a lot of weird looks back in the Cineplex," Pluto said.
"So what is your great idea?" Beast Boy asked, arms crossed and pouting. Cyborg smiled and held out a pair of watches.
"Wear these holographic image inducers. I've been developing these for some time now. We can use these to make us look like anyone we want," Cyborg explained as Beast Boy took one.
Pluto looked at the watches curiously, "So Cy, how do these things work?"
Cyborg pressed a button and he wasn't Cyborg anymore. In his place was an African American teen, with a muscular build, with no cybernetic enhancements. Pluto and Beast Boy looked wide-eyed. Beast Boy then pressed the button on his ring and was able to cloak himself with the hologram. Satisfied with his new look, he entered the nightclub with Pluto and Cyborg.
Saying the club was packed, was an understatement. People were on the dance floor, gyrating their bodies to the music. A barman was preparing and selling drinks at the bar. There were also comfortable and cushy seats for patrons who wanted to rest after dancing. Jinx squealed and pulled Draco into the crowd. Draco clumsily ran with her, but he was smiling all the way.
On the dance floor, Draco and Jinx were dancing to a fast beat. They stepped and shook to the rhythm, never leaving each other's side. Jinx gyrated her body seductively, shaking her hips, throwing her arms over her head, and twirling around her date. Draco had her arms around her hips, most of the time.
The newly disguised Beast Boy, Cyborg and Pluto watched as the couple danced. Damn! They were good! Beastboy was clicking with his camera every time he got a good shot. Cyborg and Pluto however, were checking out the ladies.
Beast Boy sat at the bar and ordered a coke. At the same time, Cyborg and Pluto were dancing with some pretty sexy girls on the dance floor. Being in disguise, neither Draco nor Jinx noticed them. Anyway, the music changed from a fast beat, to a slow song. Everyone slowed down, and those without dates, walked off the dance floor. Draco wrapped his arms around Jinx, while Jinx wrapped hers around Draco's neck. She leaned her head against his strong chest as they danced, moving slowly to the song, "As Long As You Love Me" by the Backstreet Boys.

"Jinx, I want to tell you something," Draco started.
"Yes?" she asked, sighing happily.
"Ever since the first time we met, I felt very, if not a little attracted to you," he continued.
"Go on," she urged, eyes closed.
"I think, no, I know that I…" he trailed a bit, blushing madly
"That you what?" she asked, looking straight into his green eyes.
"That I love you," he finished, confessing his feelings to her.

Jinx's eyes widened in surprise, then tears started falling from them, tears of joy. She smiled at him and embraced him. "I love you too, Draco, my Knight in shining armor."
"As I you, Jinx, my mistress of hexes," he whispered into her ear.

They leaned forward and their lips brushed slightly together. Jinx wrapped her arms tighter around his neck, pulling him close. He didn't resist. They then broke the kiss and sighed happily as they continued dancing.
Beast Boy heard the confession and saw the kiss all the way from the bar. He told both Pluto and Cyborg , who were seated with him.
"Dudes, did you hear that?" Beast Boy told them excitedly, "Draco said that he loves Jinx!"
"Yeah, BB, we heard." Cyborg's eyes then widened as he spotted another couple on the dance floor. The purple and blue hair revealed who they were.
"Guys, you're not gonna believe this!" he told his friends.
"What?" they said in unison.
"I think I just saw Raven and Shadowcobra dancing and holding each other close!"
"No way!" Beast Boy said disbelievingly, "Raven so does not dance, especially slow romantic dances! And even if she did, she does not dance with nobody!"
"See for yourself, O great master of tofu!"
Beast Boy looked carefully and his eyes widened in disbelief. There was Raven and Shadowcobra, slow dancing together, and Raven was actually smiling.
Raven was dressed in a black turtleneck sweater with a raven symbol on it. She also wore black jeans and black sandals. Her arms were wrapped around Shadowcobra, who was wearing a black, long sleeved buttoned up shirt and black slacks. He also wore black shoes on his feet. Raven looked up into Shadowcobra's snake like eyes and smiled. Shadowcobra also smiled down at her as they absorbed each other's company. They continued like that until the song stopped. As they were walking off the dance floor, they noticed a familiar pair.
"Draco? Jinx?"
Draco and Jinx turned when they heard their names .
"Shadow? Raven?"
Shadowcobra walked up to Draco and frowned, "What are you doing here, Draco?"
"I'm on a date, Shadow," Draco smiled at his fellow knight. "How about you two?"
Shadowcobra smirked, "The same"
"Since when do you two date?" Jinx asked curiously.
Raven glared at her but answered calmly, "Since tonight. We got the idea when you both went out on your date."
"Having fun, Shadow?" Draco asked.
"Being in her company is quite enjoyable, my friend," Shadowcobra answered, smiling happily.
Beast Boy, Pluto and Cyborg (who were still at the bar) watched as the two couples talked. Cyborg was using his cybernetic ears to listen in on the conversation; Beast Boy listened with his sensitive ears, and Pluto listened with his dog-like hearing. Seeing as they were smart enough not to get caught by the dating Titans, they left. If anyone found out…They were too scared to think of what might happen if anyone did. However, they did have to drag Beast Boy away. The changeling protested kicking and screaming as they dragged him back to the T-Car.
Draco then decided it was time for dinner. So, with a quick goodbye, Draco and Jinx got out of the club and hopped on Draco's motorbike. Draco passed her a helmet as he put on his. Jinx secured the helmet to her head and Draco revved up the bike. They rode forward to their next stop, dinner.
"So this is the place, huh?" Draco asked Jinx as they both got off the bike.
"Yep!" she turned to Draco, "If it's too dark for you, we can go someplace else."
Draco turned his head to Jinx and smiled softly at her, causing her to blush. "It's okay. Besides, I want to make you happy and get to know you better." He held out his hand, "C'mon" Jinx grabbed hold of his hand and entered with him into the café. Unfortunately, Jinx forgot to explain that the place they entered was an infamous hangout for agents/students of the HIVE academy. The place was appropriately named, "The Evil Eye"
Entering through the front door, Draco looked astounded at the interior of the place. The walls were painted red and black and some paint had chipped off, revealing a little of the brick wall. A band on the stage was playing a popular heavy metal song while a few teens danced to it. In another corner were six pool tables. Draco was thinking of having a few games later on, but thought against it since he was with Jinx. Jinx just looked impassively at the place, since she came here lots of times with her friends, Mammoth and Gizmo. Suddenly she frowned, remembering both of them. She hadn't seen them since she went and joined the Titans with Draco. Draco noticed this and frowned.
"Jinx, what's wrong?" he asked, worriedly.
Jinx looked up at him and quickly smiled, "Nothin' Draco. It's just this place brings out a lot of memories."
"Good ones or bad?"
"A little of both actually."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"I guess."
They both walked in and sat at a table. Almost everyone's eyes were on them. Jinx was getting nervous with all the stares. Draco, however, was ether ignoring the stares or barely noticed them. A waiter came later to take their order. Actually, the waiter floated towards them. His clothes were all black and his feet didn't even touch the ground. Reading the menus, they both ordered.
"I'll have the steak, rare, with extra sauce and fries," He ordered, "I'll also have a coke with that."
"I'll have the fried fish with a salad," Jinx ordered, "I'll also have a coke with that as well." The creepy waiter nodded and collected their menus. He floated towards the kitchen, leaving the two alone, but not for long. A gang of teenage boys came to their table.
"Say, I haven't seen you two here before. You new here?" the leader asked. At the same time, he was giving Jinx a good look.
"This is our first time here," Draco answered, "We're on a date."
The leader and his gang chuckled. He then turned his attention to Jinx, "Say, you're kinda cute. Why don't you ditch the loser and hang out with some real men."
Jinx rolled her eyes, "Tell me if you see any." The guy fumed. He looked angrily at Jinx and grabbed her arm. But Draco was there and he waved his hand a little, sending the guy crashing into a pool table, breaking it in half. The guy's gang decided to beat Draco up, but Draco just smirked, sending the rest of the gang flying with his telekinesis. He would've uses his pyrokinetic abilities, but he didn't want to cause any property damage. With another blast of power, the gang passed out on the floor, with some minor injuries.
"Wow," Jinx said. She turned to Draco, "You know I could've handled that."
"I know, but I want to be the one to protect you," he smiled. The gang leader was getting up and picked up a pool cue. Draco waved his hand again and the pool cue caught fire, turning into ash, Draco then opened up his card case and pulled out 7 cards and threw them at the guy. The guy ended up stuck to the wall by the cards. The last card grazed his cheek and got stuck to the wall. He looked wide-eyed at Draco in fear and pissed in his pants. The other patrons laughed at the guy as he struggled to get himself unstuck. But Draco stood up and walked up to the guy. He leaned closer and whispered threateningly, "If you ever try to touch my girl like that ever again," he took out a card and waved it in front of the guy's face, "The next card won't just graze you." Draco's eyes turned a deep scarlet before turning back to emerald green. The guy nodded and shivered at the tone of Draco's voice. Draco then retrieved his cards as the guy ran frantically out of the place, panicking.
Blackfire was flying through Jump City. It was strange really seeing her free again after she was sent back to prison. She was given a second chance after she was allowed parole. The first thing she wanted to do was to go to Titans Tower to apologize to her sister, Starfire. She didn't actually hate her sister, just a bit envious. Starfire had friends and a new family on Earth, while she had no one. She had been exiled from Tamaran, so there was no chance of going back. She sighed. Even if her sister wouldn't forgive her, at least she'll have a little piece of mind for trying to make amends. As she passed by a nearby window, she did not notice however a silhouette of a creature, looking at her. She also barely noticed the long tentacle that grabbed her and tried to pull her in.
"What in the world?" she yelled as she tried to fire her starbolts. Again, more tentacles grabbed her arms and wrapped around her body. She couldn't deny it. She was afraid.
Pluto, Cyborg and Beastboy were driving back to the Tower when Pluto started hearing ringing in his ears, the same ringing when there was a monster from the mirror dimension nearby.
"Cy! STOP!" Pluto exclaimed. Cyborg stopped the car and he looked back at Pluto.
"What's the matter with you?" Cyborg asked.
"We could've had an accident dude!" Beastboy said.
Pluto didn't answer. He took out his deck out of his pocket and opened the door, getting out of the car. He pointed his deck at the reflective surface of the car.
"ZODIAC FORCE!" he cried. The transformation belt appeared around his waist. The blue dog crystal glowed, awaiting his command. "DOG!" He snapped the deck to his belt and transformed into Zodiac Knight Pluto. Pluto took to the air, his cape transformed into bat wings. He unsheathed his sword when he saw a girl tangled in a mass of tentacles. He slashed at the tentacles, completely severing them. The monster retreated as Pluto caught the girl in his arms. He looked at the girl closely. She was dressed in black and silver clothes similar to Starfire's. She also had an uncanny resemblance to the Tamaranian princess, except that she had black hair and violet eyes.
Blackfire was also looking at her savior. He looked like a knight in shining armor. His dark blue, black and silver armor shone brightly under the pale moonlight. She also noticed the black bat wings on his back as well as the sword he had in his holster. She also wanted to see his face. His face was well hidden behind that mask-like helmet.
As Pluto landed, a bit farther from Cyborg and Beastboy, he placed the girl back on her feet. "You OK?" he asked.
"Yeah, thanks." She asked him, "What was that thing?"
"A monster from the Mirror Dimension," he answered.
"Mirror Dimension?"
Pluto turned his back to her. "No time to explain. I have to hunt that thing down." He ran towards a window.
"Wait!" she called out to him. Pluto stopped. "Who are you?"
Pluto turned his head and answered, "Zodiac Knight Pluto." Pluto ran into the window and disappeared into the portal
Blackfire watched in awe as Pluto walked into the window. Many thoughts ran through her mind. Who is he really? What does he look like? How do I even know if he's even handsome under that helmet? She lifted off the ground and started flying again. First things first. I have to patch things up with Koriand'r
Back at the nightclub, in the girls' bathroom, a blonde girl was checking her makeup. She wore a short pink shirt, which exposed her stomach and low blue jeans. This girl was actually Kitten, daughter of Killer Moth. Her father was still in prison as well as Fang, her spider/human hybrid boyfriend. She checked her makeup again. As she looked at the mirror, she saw a monster looking back at her. She screamed.
Outside of the bathroom, Shadowcobra's supersensitive hearing picked up a girl's scream. He also heard the ringing, that signified the presence of a monster. He stopped dancing and said to Raven, "Raven, there's another monster."
"Where?" she asked
"I think it's in the girls' bathroom. C'mon!" They both ran towards the girls' bathroom. Shadowcobra kicked the door open and saw a red humanoid lobster monster standing over a girl with its claws clicking.
"Azerath, Metrion, Zinthos!" Raven chanted as she threw sinks and toilets at the monster. The creature panicked and ran back into the mirror. Kitten looked up to see Raven (although, Kitten didn't know it was Raven since she'd never seen the goth without her cloak and hood before) and Shadowcobra. Raven went to see if the girl was alright. Raven's eyes widened in recognition. Kitten! What is she doing here? She shook her head. Probably just came to have fun. "You okay?" Raven asked.
"Yeah, thanks," Kitten said, brushing herself off. In the meantime, Shadowcobra was standing in front of the mirror, holding out his deck.
"ZODIAC FORCE!" The transformation belt appeared around his waist. "SNAKE!" Shadowcobra snapped the deck to his belt and transformed into Zodiac Knight Shadowcobra. He turned his head to Raven and nodded. Raven nodded back. Shadowcobra then entered the mirror. Kitten saw what had happened and then fainted.
"Better get her outside." Raven dragged the girl out of the bathroom. Raven took a short glance at the mirror and closed her eyes. Be careful, Shadow.
After having their meal, and a few games of pool, Draco and Jinx left the Evil Eye completely contented and spent. Draco was tired, yes, but he still wanted to have more fun. Suddenly, Jinx stopped in her tracks.
"What's the matter Jinx?" Draco asked. Jinx just pointed in front of her.
Gizmo and Mammoth were at the arcade next to the Evil Eye. After playing (and beating) every single game, they decided to call it a night. As they came out of the arcade, Gizmo turned to see a pink haired girl in dark clothing walking in their direction. He stopped as he recognized her.
"Jinx?" Both Gizmo and Mammoth said in unison.
"Gizmo? Mammoth?"
Oh no! Draco thought, This is bad! I beat these two the first time I got here. Hope they don't recognize me. But, then again, I was wearing my helmet so how could they recognize me? Draco sighed.
Mammoth and Gizmo walked towards them and smiled. The two were wearing civilian clothing and for once, Gizmo didn't have his hi-tech backpack with him.
"Jinx, where have you been?" Gizmo asked, looking Jinx over, "And why do you look so good?"
Mammoth smiled, "Yeah, where have you been and why do you look great?"
Jinx crossed her arms and smiled, "I joined the Teen Titans and I'm on a date"
Gizmo and Mammoth went silent, then Gizmo exploded, "YOU WHAT? HOW COULD YOU JOIN THAT TEAM OF SNOT EATING CRUD MUNCHERS!" he turned his head to Draco, "AND WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?"
Draco smiled at them and extended his hand. Don't really have anything to lose. "Name's Draco," he continued, "I'm Jinx's boyfriend." Gizmo and Mammoth's eyes went as large as dinner plates and their jaws dropped to the floor. Geez, what a severe reaction.
"But how? When?" Mammoth started, trying to process the information in his mind before Gizmo spoke up.
"That voice, it sounds familiar." Gizmo rubbed his chin.
Draco smiled nervously. His expression changed, however, when he heard a strange ringing in his ears. There's a monster here!
All of a sudden, something red, wet and long shot out of a nearby window. It stuck itself to Gizmo and dragged the genius midget back.
"Gizmo!" Jinx grabbed at Gizmo's arms while Mammoth and Draco pulled at the thing. Mammoth pulled as hard as he could. A green monster came out of the window. It was a humanoid chameleon creature, and its tongue was still stuck to Gizmo.
"Let go of Gizmo!" Mammoth warned as he started to punch the monster. The monster unstuck its tongue from Gizmo, retracted it back into its mouth, and then disappeared before Mammoth's punch even hit. "What?"
Jinx sighed, relieved as she held onto her small friend. "It's gone."
"No it isn't!" Draco yelled
"What?"
Mammoth was suddenly sent flying back and fell into some trashcans. The chameleon monster reappeared and slowly made its way to Jinx. Draco grabbed the creature and hurled him to the ground with him. They both wrestled on the ground before the creature slammed him away with its tail. The creature escaped through the mirror portal it formed in the window. As Draco got back to his feet, he slowly went to Mammoth and helped the giant up.
"You okay, big guy?" Draco asked, concerned.
"Me think so," he said, holding his head. Draco smiled.
"That's good." He walked up to Jinx and Gizmo. "Jinx, you okay?" Jinx nodded. "How about you, little guy?"
Gizmo narrowed his eyes at Draco. "I'm perfectly fine you crud eating hairball!" he snapped, "And I'm not little, just vertically challenged!" he protested. Jinx and Mammoth rolled their eyes. Draco smiled at him still. Draco then walked towards the window and held out his deck. With eyes narrowed he shouted out his transformation command.
"ZODIAC FORCE!" The transformation belt formed. "DRAGON!" Draco snapped the deck to his belt as he transformed into Zodiac Knight Draco.
"Hey! That's the snot muncher that sent us to jail!" Gizmo spoke up.
"Oh, boy." Jinx groaned.
