Part 28: Go-Kart Crazy!
"What are we doing at the go-kart track?" Draco asked.
"Look on the track." Shadowcobra pointed out. "See anyone we know?"
"Is that Beast Boy, Cyborg, Robin, Terra, Beast Boy, Raven and Starfire?" Draco yelled.
"Bingo!" Pluto snapped his fingers.
"But what the hell are they doing?" Jinx asked, confused.
"Obviously competing in a race," Shadowcobra answered.
"Why?" Draco asked.
"The prize is a full course meal," Pluto explained.
"Ooooohhhhh…"
"Draco?" Jinx asked, "Where are you going?"
"I wanna sign up!" Draco told her.
"Hey!" Pluto called, "Wait for me Draco!" he followed after him.
"Not competing?" Jinx asked Shadowcobra.
"Go-kart racing was never one of my interests," he shrugged. "You?"
Jinx shook her head. "Nah! Me neither!" she smiled, "But I am gonna cheer for Draco!"
Shadowcobra nodded, "That is good. I think I shall cheer for Raven as well."
"Let's get a good seat!"
"Yo BB!" Pluto yelled.
Beast Boy turned and gave Pluto a high five. "Pluto!" He was dressed in a grey helmet with orange goggles and a white scarf. "What're you doin here dude?"
"I'm entering too." He looked Beast Boy up and down. "What's with the get up?"
"It's gonna bring me luck!" Beast Boy smiled and gave him two thumbs up.
"I…see…" Pluto answered, not knowing what to say. "Where's Cy?" Beast Boy pointed behind Pluto. Pluto turned to see Cyborg sitting in a go-kart. The kart was a bit too small mainly because it was built for girls or people with small frames. However, the rules never excluded male participation either. "Oh."
Draco looked over the red go-kart he was going to drive. He whistled. "Not my Knightrider, but definitely a sweet ride!"
"Draco!" Starfire waved and rushed to hug him.
"Hey Star!" he returned her hug. "Excited?"
"Yes! I was curious about the karts-that-go, but I believe I will be able to win," she said happily.
Draco sweatdropped. Was Starfire going to be okay? Nah! She would always be okay. He was worried for the other racers.
"Hey Star!" Robin called, "Get to your kart! The race is about to start!"
"Coming!" she smiled sweetly at Draco, "May one of us wins!"
Draco nodded, "Likewise."
"What the hell are you doing here?" Cyborg glared at the racer next to him.
"I wanna win that free meal!" He snapped. It was Gizmo, "Got a problem with that ya pit sniffer!"
"I gotta problem!" Cyborg retorted, "How do I know you won't cheat?"
"You don't!" Gizmo cackled insanely. Cyborg rolled his eyes.
While Terra was putting on her gloves a tall woman bumped into her. Terra yelled, "Hey! Watch it!"
The woman turned. She had short black hair and narrowed brown eyes. She was also dressed in a blue jumpsuit. "What did you say to me?" she asked, glaring.
"I said, watch it!" Terra repeated.
The woman huffed, "Better respect your elders little girl," the woman smirked, "You'll be eating my dust pretty soon."
Terra's temper flared, "Oh yeah?"
"Ciao!" the woman turned and walked away from the fuming Titan. Terra growled.
"Calm down Terra," Raven advised, "You don't want to lose your cool."
"I know but…Ahhh! Who was that?"
A man who was one of the staff answered, "That's Susan 'Lightspeed' Morgan. She comes here every week to race. She'll probably win this race too.
A competitive smirk curled up on Terra's face, "There's a first time for everything."
"Oh Robbiepoo!" a shrill voice called.
Robin flinched and grimaced, "Oh, hell no!" he turned. The girl glomped him. It was the blonde bimbo Kitten. Starfire growled and glared at the girl with glowing green eyes.
"I'm gonna win that full course meal and share it with you my Robbiepoo!" she said, with that annoyingly high pitched voice.
Robin sweatdropped, "That's nice, Kitten. Where's Fang?"
"Oh," Kitten pouted, "We broke up again."
"Well…" he turned to Starfire who was grinding her teeth back and forth. "You better get to your kart first. The race is gonna start soon."
"Of course! I'll go, win and get the prize!" she ran and waved "Bye bye Robbiepoo!" she blew him a kiss
Slight gag: a pair of flying lips flew at Robin like a butterfly. Before they hit Robin, Starfire's hand grabbed it and crushed it.
"Starfire?" Robin sweatdropped.
"Do not worry Robin!" Starfire proclaimed, "I shall win this race and get the full course meal!"
"Um…Okay."
The PA announced, "Competitors, you may enter your vehicles and start your engines!"
Everyone entered their respected vehicles. Cyborg's red eye flared. Gizmo, Terra and Draco pulled their goggles over their eyes. Pluto and Beast Boy buckled up. Raven chanted. Gizmo cackled. Kitten smirked confidently. However, her smirk was overshadowed by Susan's. Starfire only had a happy smile and a look of determination crossing her face.
"1…2…3…GO!"
All of the go-karts roared with life and raced forwards. A stray one accidentally went in reverse and crashed into some tires on the sidelines. The driver groaned and rubbed his head. It was Draco.
"Okay, I had that in reverse."
Meanwhile, the other drivers were racing around the circuit. It was a 1 KM circuit with only one lap. Kitten easily bumped off some of the competitors.
"Sorry!" she apologized with fake sincerity. If I win this I will have that meal with Robbiepoo. Hohohoho!"
"That blonde girl is bumping people off the road," Shadowcobra said as he watched everything through binoculars.
"Where's Draco?" Jinx asked.
"Somewhere in last place. Uh oh."
"What do you mean, 'uh oh?"
"Looks like there is some hostility going on."
Gizmo and Cyborg were neck to neck and were clearly trying to bump each other off.
"Out of my way, crud face!" Gizmo jeered.
"No way baldy!" Cyborg snapped.
"That's it!" Gizmo activated his pack, "Nobody calls me bald and gets away with it!" a few strange devices went into the engine and modified it. "Later loser!" Gizmo shouted as his engine roared like a rocket and blasted him forward like a rocket. The force of it sent Cyborg spinning.
"THAT'S CHEATING!" Cyborg shouted as he spun wildly.
"Cy!" Beast Boy called. Pluto was next to him.
"We getter help Cy! Come on BB!" He shifted into second gear and raved ahead. Beast Boy followed after.
Cyborg continued spinning wildly, totally out of control. He knocked out several other drivers. "Make this crazy thing stop!"
"BB!" Pluto called out, "Vice move!"
"Right!"
They both carefully maneuvered their carts on each side of Cyborg's and carefully moved in to stabilize the spinning cart's movements. It was soon in perfect alignment with theirs. Cyborg breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thanks guys!" Cyborg told them.
"No prob Cy!" Pluto told him. Beast Boy grinned.
"Now let's get that midget!"
"You're speaking my language BB!"
"BOOYAH!" They all shouted as they accelerated.
Draco was back in the race but was left way behind.
"Okay. So I can't handle a go-kart like my Knightrider." He saw the massive destruction as he passed by. A lot of drivers and karts were on the side of the road with smoking engines and burning tires. There were also massive pileups. Draco sweatdropped. "At least I handled it better that those people. Better speed up."
Shadowcobra told Jinx, "It seems that a lot of the normal drivers have been bumped off the race. That only leaves the Titans, that blonde, a midget, and that one female driver."
"Who's that?" Jinx pointed out watching with her own binoculars. The driver wore a black helmet and blue green helmet and jumpsuit, hiding his features.
"Not sure. But he's driving better than the others."
Raven yawned as she drove her go-kart. "This is pointless."

Shadowcobra: (Holding up a sign that says 'Go Raven!') I think Raven will win.
Jinx: (whacked him over a head with a sign that says 'Win It Draco!') Draco will win.
Shadowcobra: He can't even maneuver a go-kart and he's still in last place!
Jinx: At least he has more spirit in it! (Angrily charging up her powers)
Chromedragozoid: (Nervously) We'll return after this. Guys! Stop! Hey! JINX! PUT THE SIGN DOWN! SHADOW! DON'T LEVITATE EVERYTHING! I MEAN IT! HELP!
