Part 30: Go-Kart Craziest.

The race was still on. Terra was in the lead and Draco was in last place. Robin, Starfire and Raven were in the middle and racing as normal. The mystery driver had caught up and passed the trio, getting into the third place.

The one in second place was none too happy.

This was a miss Susan "Lightspeed" Morgan. She was famous because she always won first place in every go-kart race she participated it. Not once had anyone took her place in first.

Not until Terra, that is.

Susan had a look of murder on her face as she bumped Terra from behind. Terra attempted to shake her off, but Susan's persistence was amazing, and scary. She kept screaming at Terra

Cyborg, Beast Boy, Pluto, Gizmo and Kitten hadn't reappeared.

"Aren't you worried about the guys?" Jinx asked.

Shadowcobra shook his head, "They'll be fine. They're just having the time of their life."

Draco whistled as he continued to speed in his go-kart. He was in last place, but that didn't matter. If any of the Titans won, that would still guarantee a free full course meal. He smacked his lips and imagined himself eating with his friends. Suddenly the scene shifted to him sharing the meal alone with Jinx. The scene brought a smile to his face.

What's the hell is wrong with me? I shouldn't be in last place! He took out his deck. "ZODIAC FORCE! DRAGON!"

The flash of red energy caught Shadowcobra's attention. He inspected through his binoculars and sighed, "Looks like Draco has taken it up a notch."

Jinx raised an eyebrow and turned her attention to Draco's go-kart. Draco had donned his armor and had just drawn a card.

It was the Speed Vent card.

"LET'S RIDE LIKE THE WIND!" Draco shouted as he inserted the card into his gauntlet, "SPEED VENT!" the power of the card was transferred into the go-kart and the engine roared. The wheels spun like crazy. Draco rocketed forwards, leaving a trail of flames behind him.
Shadowcobra senses tingled. He turned around and saw a blue energy portal form. A few of the spectators moved away in fear of the phenomenon. Shadowcobra of course knew what this phenomenon meant.

Suddenly, three people tumbled out of the portal. Pluto was in his armor and his cape was in tangles. Cyborg and Beast Boy were detangling themselves from the mess they were in.

"Took you long enough." Shadowcobra quipped before asking, "Where were you?"

"Canada," the three of them immediately answered.

"A mountie found us," began Cyborg.

"We were on this mountain covered with snow. He thought Cy was the abomi...abobible…!" Beast Boy added, attempting to pronounce a difficult word.

"Abominable Snowman," Pluto corrected. "Fortunately, we were able to convince him that we ain't hostile and decided to let us go." Pluto finished.

"You left Gizmo in a jail cell, right?" Shadowcobra inquired.

"Brought it on himself. Little bugger wouldn't stop shooting his mouth off."

"That sounds like him," Jinx giggled. "Was Kitten there with you?" Jinx asked.

"Yep!" Pluto answered.

"She's getting 'acquainted' with the mountie, if you get what I mean," Cyborg grinned.

Shadowcobra shook his head. He told them, "Terra's in the lead, by the way."

Beast Boy exclaimed, "Really? Sweet!"

Jinx giggled, "But I don't think it will be for long."

"Is the track on fire?" Pluto asked.

"I THINK I PUT IN A LITTLE TOO MUCH JUICE!" Draco screamed as he zoomed down the track. Raven saw him in her rear view mirror and swerved out of the way. This of course caused him to slam into Robin and took him along for the ride.

"Robin! Draco!" Starfire exclaimed, "You are going too fast!"

"DRACO! STOP!" Robin yelled, "SLOW DOWN! SLOW DOWN!"

"I'M TRYING!" Draco yelled back. He had lost control of his vehicle and they were driving straight for a water Tower.

At the same time, Susan and Terra were about to make another turn at the next bend.

Murphy's Law states that what can go wrong, will go wrong. Therefore, said law took the moment to take effect.

Robin and Draco crashed into the water tower. The water tower fell with a loud crash and broke open, spilling water out in a miniature tidal wave. Susan and Terra didn't notice in time and were quickly swept away. The real kicker was they were about a foot away from the finish line.

"NO!" Susan screamed with rage as she exited her go-kart. She glared at Terra. "You little wench! You caused me to lose my place!"

"Excuse me!" Terra countered, "You were trying to bump me off!"

"Why you!" Susan snapped before making a lunge for Terra. Terra's eyes glowed yellow and she summoned up a wall of stone. Susan crashed right into it and passed out with a dazed expression on her face. Terra sighed and dusted off her gloves.

"I knew that would happen sooner or later," Shadowcobra said.

"Yeah," Agreed Jinx. "I love Draco to bits but I do know that he can be a klutz sometimes. A cute klutz and he's all mine."

"Lookie, lookie." Shadowcobra smiled, "It seems that the mystery driver is about to cross the finish line."

"Lemme see!" Beast Boy tried to grab Shadowcobra's binoculars.

"Get your own!" Shadowcobra snapped. Beast Boy tried to ask Jinx.

"Don't even think about it," she glared.

The mysterious driver continued to zoom down the track and eventually made it up to Starfire and Raven.

At this exact moment, the theme of the Olympics played and everything was in slow motion.

Starfire was in first with the mysterious driver close behind. Raven, continued to drive at her own pace but not without cutting close to second.

They were nearing the finish line and both Starfire's and the mystery driver's karts were closing in. At the last second, they put on the throttle and crossed the finish line.

It was a photo finish!

Raven crossed right after.

Draco, Terra and Robin teleported to the bleachers. They were both soaked to the bone.

"I hate water!" Draco shook the water off his de-armored self.

"Serves you right!" Robin was wringing the water out of his cape.

"Good of you to show up," Shadowcobra quipped. "Starfire crossed the finish line, but it was a photo finish. We'll see the results soon enough."

"Did Starfire win?" Terra asked hopefully.

"Not sure," answered Jinx.

"Sorry about that Ter," Beast Boy placed his hand on Terra's shoulder, "You should've won."

"I would've, if Draco hadn't cheated," she indicated.

"I'm sorry, okay! I just wanted to share the meal with Jinx!" Draco threw up his arms.

"Really!" Jinx squealed. She hugged Draco, "That's so sweet!"

"Look at the screen," Cyborg pointed out, "Their about to show the winner."

The screen showed a snapshot of both Starfire and the mystery driver's karts crossing the finish line. The PA announced, "And the winner is…STARFIRE! BY A NOSE!"

The Titans all whooped in celebration. Robin and Draco gave each other hi-fives. Shadowcobra smirked.. Pluto, Cyborg and Beast Boy did a victory dance and both Jinx and Terra smiled.

The mystery driver got out of his kart and walked away. He then turned to Starfire and gave her a thumb's up. He then walked away.
Later, the team went to the Park's restaurant and had their free meal.

"I'm sorry you didn't win, Raven," Shadowcobra said, sipping his tea.

"It's okay. I wasn't looking forward to winning anyway," she lied, but smiled slightly. She had in fact wanted to win since Brave was screaming in her mind the whole time. She was going to meditate later on. She sipped her tea.

Draco, Pluto, Cyborg and Beast Boy were scarfing down food like there was no tomorrow. Robin smiled at Starfire as she showed him her trophy and the blue ribbon saying, "No.1!" in bright gold letters.

"My first Earth trophy!" she smiled, hugging it. "And a beautiful blue ribbon with gold writing!"

"That's great Star!" Robin smiled. "You deserve it."

"But," Terra started, "Did anyone know who that mystery driver was?" she asked.

"Dunno," Jinx answered, "But he sure showed some spirit in the end."

"I guess," Draco shrugged, munching on a turkey leg.

"But something tells me we might cross paths with that driver, again," Shadowcobra smiled knowingly.

"You know, there's a fireworks display later on," Draco said, "The best place to view it is from the Ferris Wheel."

Outside the Park, the mysterious driver took off 'his' helmet. He was really a she, with long black hair with purple highlights, violet eyes and tanned skin.

"Look like you beat me again, little sis," Blackfire smiled as she tucked the helmet under her arm and flew off into the sunset.
