Part 39: Spiritual Power, OVER SOUL!
"Draco!" Pluto called as he ran towards him. Draco turned to see his fellow Knights and the girls running towards him.
"Guys!" he answered. "You're okay!"
"Of course we're okay!" Jinx looked Draco up and down and grinned, "Nice armor. Survivor Mode?" Draco nodded.
"I was attacked by Copycat, but she bailed out after I cut off her claws," Draco spun his gun in his hand before sliding it back into a holster on his left leg.
"Draco…you felt it, didn't you?" Pluto asked.
"Yeah," he answered.
"Felt what?" Terra asked.
Suddenly, the ringing became louder, hurting the Knights' ears. They were forced to cover them.
"Uh!" Shadowcobra shouted, "It stings!"
"What stings?" Terra asked again.
"There's a monster coming through into the real world," Pluto explained. "Damn ringing is too loud!"
"What ringing?"
"The Knights' can hear a ringing in their ears when a monster shows up. Helps them hunts those things down," Jinx told her.
"And this is too loud for a normal monster signal!" Draco shouted. "The last time this happened, a huge swarm of those things crossed over!"
"Draco," Shadowcobra began. "I do not think that this is a huge swarm," he added. "I think this is one monster."
"That's a good thing, right?" Jinx asked.
"One BIG monster!" Pluto yelled.
Suddenly a huge ominous reflection appeared in the windows of a large office building in front of them. Judging from the size, it was exactly the same height of the building, a whopping 200 feet tall.
"Oh my God…" Terra stared.
"Holy shit!" Jinx cried out with wide eyes staring.
"Incoming!" Draco drew out his gun, Shadow got ready with his staff and Pluto drew out his Survivor Card.
A large white boot with pointed up toes walked out of the window. From the top window, the Titans could see a white face with a long pointy nose and hollowed out eyes seep out of the portal. Their eyes widened and Shadowcobra identified it.
"Big Menose," Shadowcobra shuddered.
"Big Menose?" Terra asked.
"That's the thing's name," Draco gulped. The monster was almost in the real world. Its whole body was covered in a black robe, revealing only its legs from the shins down and its clawed hands.
"This is the first time I've ever seen something like that," Pluto stood in Survivor Mode regalia.
"Then we're gonna be the last thing it sees!" Jinx fired a hex at the thing. The blast did no damage. "It didn't even scratch it!"
"But you did get its attention!" Draco said as it stared right at them. "Scatter!"
Big Menose fired twin black eyebeams at the Titans. The teen heroes jumped away in time to avoid the attack, leaving a large hole after a huge explosion.
Big Menose had fully crossed over and was walking through the city. The Titans were hot on its heels.
"How are we gonna beat that thing?" Terra asked as she flew on a large rock.
"Like this!" Pluto drew out his sword and flew straight at the monsters legs. However, at the same time, Big Menose rose up its leg and kicked Pluto away. The Dog Knight landed just in front of Shadowcobra and Draco.
"What was your battle plan, anyway?" Draco asked.
"I was hoping we could chop it down bit by bit and then finish off the rest when it was short enough," as Pluto said this, a chibi image of him chopping down the monster, piece by piece, was shown. Chibi Pluto then was hitting the monster on the head repeatedly with his sword.
"That was your plan?" Shadowcobra shouted with disbelief.
"Well, it worked in theory."
Meanwhile, Terra was using her powers to create a large fissure in the ground beneath Big Menose. Big Menose lost its balance and fell into the crevice. Terra did a victory sign and said, "Yes!" But her victory was cut short as Menose held the edge of the fissure with one clawed hand and rose back up. Its eyes found Terra and it opened its mouth, charging up a black energy ball.
"Terra! Move!" Pluto leapt into the air and grabbed Terra before Menose's blast was fired. The blast completely destroyed the rock Terra was flying on earlier.
"Thanks, Pluto," Terra smiled.
"No problem!"
"That blast could've torn the city in half," Shadowcobra said.
"Shadow, can we hear some good news, like how to beat that thing?" Jinx asked angrily.
"Jinx, we have never fought anything of this magnitude before."
"We have to try!" Draco said as he inserted a card into his gun. "Shoot Vent-Meteor Bullet!" Dragonzer flew up behind Draco and transformed. It was now covered in robotic armor and had an extra horn protruding to the back of its head. Its eyes were covered by a silver visor. It had evolved into Dragonrizer.
Draco aimed his gun right at the center of Menose's chest and opened fire, releasing a large fireball from his gun. Dragonrizer also helped by blasting a stream of flames right at the thing. The fireball and flamethrower slammed right into Menose and a gaping hole formed in the middle of its chest. Menose raised a hand to its chest and healed it. Slowly the hole filled back up again.
Draco sweatdropped, "That was not supposed to happen!"
"You think?" Shadowcobra hissed.
"There's no way to beat that thing!" Terra said.
"We can't give up, Terra!" Pluto told her.
"There has to be a way to beat that thing," Jinx said as she continued to blast hexes at the thing, but they only went through Menose. "It has to have a weakness."
"There is," Shadowcobra said, "Over Soul."
"Over what?" Terra and Jinx asked in unison.
"Over Soul? Are you sure?" Draco asked.
"Add Vent-Summoning Genosnaker." Shadowcobra summoned up his monster Genosnaker. The large cobra hissed as his monster said, "There is no other way."
"What is Over Soul?" Jinx asked. Pluto placed a hand on her shoulder
"Just watch, Jinx, these guys are gonna put on a show," he said.
"Ready?" Shadowcobra asked.
"You bet!" Draco answered. "DRAGONRIZER!"
"GENOSNAKER!"
"SPIRIT BALL FORM!"
Both the robotic dragon and cobra followed and transmuted into small balls of energy and entered their masters open palms. The two Over Soul users continued.
"DRAGONRIZER IN DRAGBLASTER! OVER SOUL!" Draco forced the energy ball into his gun.
"GENOSNAKER IN COBRA STAFF! OVER SOUL!" Shadowcobra pushed the purple energy ball into his battle staff.
There was an explosion of light and energy as the Knights activated their Over Souls. Terra and Jinx had to cover their eyes from the intense glare. When the glow subsided, the girls looked on with surprise.
Draco's left arm was covered in a red plated gauntlet with menacing claws and a blue orb in the middle of his hand. Spikes jutted from his arm up to his elbow. Shadowcobra was now holding a black sword with a jagged blade and spikes around the hand guard. The sword was huge and was almost 6 feet in length. Both weapons were also glowing, Draco's in red and Shadowcobra's in purple.
Draco announced, "CRIMSON DRAGON GLOVE!"
Shadowcobra announced, "DARK SOUL BLADE!"
"Let's do this! CRIMSON DRAGON FIST" Draco gripped his left fist and threw his arm forward. A large beam of energy was fired from his gauntlet and slammed right into Menose's face, breaking off a large portion of its face. Menose brought its arms up to its face and roared with fury. The wound healed up and its eyes scanned the area for the one who had wounded it.
"Now it is my turn," Shadowcobra hissed as he leapt into the air and did a downward slashing move with his sword. "DARK WORLD SLICER!" his black sword sent out a crescent shaped blade of energy that sliced Menose's right arm completely off. The monster roared and fired a charged energy beam at the Snake Knight. Shadowcobra used his sword to split the blast in half, making it completely useless.
"DRACO! KNOCK THIS BUGGER'S LIGHTS OUT!" Shadowcobra shouted.
"You got it!" Draco charged up his Over Soul and sent another blast at the creature. The blast was in the shape of a dragon's head in mid roar. "DRAGON ROARING BULLET!"
"So, this is Over Soul," Terra admired. Pluto, Terra and Jinx had retreated to the top of another building to watch.
"Incredible," Jinx added, "How did they do it? How can they do it?"
"It's Ki energy, the power of the soul," Pluto explained. "They are able to manipulate their Ki and since they are both psychic, have a strong bond with their monsters."
Menose roared and flailed its remaining arm around. It swung its arm down on Draco. Draco jumped away and fired a barrage of fireballs at it. Menose turned and fired a blast of energy at him, only for it to be blocked by Shadowcobra, who had appeared out of nowhere.
"Draco, finish it off," Shadowcobra said, "I'm going to use Giant Over Soul. You use your Final Vent to finish it off. Can you do it?"
Draco released Dragonrizer and his gauntlet reverted back into his gun. "Gotcha!" he gave him a thumb's up.
"Good." Shadowcobra turned to face Menose and charged up. "Here it goes. GIANT OVER SOUL!"
"Woah! He's gonna do it!" Pluto said.
"Correction, he did," Terra's jaw dropped.
"That's a hell of a sword," Jinx's eyes widened.
Shadowcobra had charged the blade with all his Ki energy and the blade lengthen and enlarged. It had grown until it was as big as Big Menose.
"Take this monster! GIANT HELL BLADE!" he swung the blade down. Menose rose up its arm to block, but its arm was cut off and the blade soon made contact with its head, continuing to slice right through.
Draco saw his chance and drew out his card and inserted it into his gun. "Survivor Final Vent!" He leapt into the air and landed on Dragonrizer's back. The crimson beast roared and flew straight at Menose. On its way, it transformed into a motorcycle by folding its body in while a wheel extended from its front and another appeared behind it. Crimson fire energy surrounded it and its rider. At the same time, all of Draco's monsters showed up. Brainstorm the condor, Hardhead the bull, Overbite the Shark, Wildcat the tiger and Razorclaw the black lion flew by both Draco's side and transmuted into energy balls of their corresponding colors. Draco shouted out:
"DRAGON METEOR FIRESTORM!"
Draco and his monsters slammed right into Menose followed by a barrage of energy blasts and blew it up. The monster's demise shook the city as its body was enveloped in fire before blowing up. After its demise, thousand of energy balls rose up from where it had been. Much of the energy balls were eagerly gobbled up by the Knights' monsters.
"They actually did it," Terra said, amazed as Draco and Shadowcobra destroyed Menose.
"Told ya so," Pluto looked up to see a Jump City News Helicopter. "Looks like some people came for a scoop." He also saw a CNN chopper and choppers from various other news shows.
"DRACO! YOU DID IT!" she shouted out through cupped hands around her mouth. "I LOVE YOU!"
Draco and Shadowcobra panted as their armors disappeared. Draco grinned and gave Shadowcobra a thumb's up, which was returned by a prideful smirk.

Author's notes: Yes, Big Menose is the Big Hollow from the Anime Bleach. I liked the way the thing looked, and I thought it was a good way to introduce Over Soul.
