Part 42: Movie Night

Control Freak was out again and was terrorizing the same video store he terrorized the last time he was there. He was demanding that "Warp Trek 5" be on the favorites rentals list. He even bought the mechanical stuff to life just to emphasize his point. People ran out of the store in terror, leaving Control Freak with the store clerk. Of course, the Teen Titans came to stop his fun.

"Well, well. If it isn't my old arch nemesis…es. The Teen Titans! And I see you've got some new friends," Control Freak said.

"Not him again," Beast Boy groaned.

"Who is this guy?" Draco asked.

Control Freak pointed his remote at the TV screens and pressed a button. "I am the master of monsters, I am your deepest fears come true, I am…Control Freak!" he announced.

"In short, a coach potato with a souped up remote. I'm petrified," Raven said sarcastically.

"What a pathetic excuse for a super villain," Shadowcobra said calmly as he gripped his scepter.

"You'll be the pathetic ones when you cower in fear at my feet!" Control Freak said.

"Yeah right," Shadowcobra scoffed.

"Titans! Go!" Robin ordered his team as they leapt (or flew) into action.

Control Freak started pointing his remote at random stuff and bringing them to life. A returns box came to life and started snapping its teeth at Raven. Raven yawned and used her magic.

"Azerath, Metrion, ZINTHOS!" She covered the box in black energy. She didn't notice a TV monster was sneaking up behind her.

"Raven! Watch out!" Shadowcobra yelled as he slammed his scepter into the TV's screen face. Raven thanked him and threw the box into the TV.

Control Freak pointed to a bunch of cassette and they wrapped tape around the goth and the snake knight. Both of them were wrapped up like mummies.

"Close proximity, don't you think?" Shadowcobra managed to say as he was being crushed against Raven.

"A bit too close for comfort if you ask me." They both concentrated their powers and forced the tape off. They both managed to blush since they were standing so close to each other.

Draco was blasting at tapes and CDs being fired by another giant TV (equipped with a VCR and CD/DVD player). Jinx concentrated and fired a hex above the monster, crushing it with pieces of the ceiling.

Both Robin and Pluto were fighting off cardboard cutout samurais together. Pluto was using his sword while Robin was using his Bo staff.

Meanwhile, Beast Boy and Terra were being backed up against a wall by a shelf. That was when Beastbiy saw the display.

"Dude! Wicked Scary 2 is out on DVD!" Beast Boy said with starry eyes.

"BB, now's not the time for that," Terra told him as the shelf was right in front of them. The shelf was suddenly burnt to a crisp and fell. Draco stood proudly and smirked

"Need help guys?" Draco asked, still smirking.

"I could've handled that!" Beast Boy protested.

"Could've, would've, didn't," Draco countered as Jinx and Terra giggled at the fuming changeling.

Long story short, they defeated Control Freak. Cyborg got sick because he ate some "evil" candy and Starfire's hair was in disarray after being given an electric shock.

"Look's like we're done here!" Robin said.

"Wait!" Beast Boy said as he searched through a pile of tapes and DVDs before pulling out something.

"What're you looking for BB?" Pluto asked.

BB pulled out the DVD triumphantly. "Our Friday Night Movie!"

Basically, like last time, the clerk just gave the DVD to the Titans. Shadowcobra pulled out a check and gave it to the clerk to pay for all the damages. (Hell, he is rich, you know!)

Anyway, the Titans went back to the Tower and Robin placed the remote in the evidence room (also known as the Trophy Room)

"Robin! Emergency!" Beast Boy's voice came over the intercom.

Robin came running out of the evidence room to the living room. "Report!"

"The movie's about to start and you're not in your seat."

Robin narrowed his eyes, annoyed at Beast Boy's antics. He then sat down next to Starfire.

Everyone was ready for the movie. Draco was holding a bowl of popcorn and had an arm over Jinx's shoulders. Cyborg was looking a bit green and vomited when Draco offered him some popcorn. Pluto was all geared up for the movie. Terra only smiled at her boyfriend. Shadowcobra and Raven were both reading books.

"Prepare for the scariest night of your lives. From the creators of the movie "Wicked Scary" is the sequel, "Wicked Scary 2"!" Beast Boy tried to look menacing and scary, "It's so scary it's terrifying!" However, he was ignored by both Shadowcobra and Raven.

"Just start the movie already," Shadowcobra said, his eyes never leaving his book. Beast Boy's face fell at his comment.

"Um, Beast Boy," Robin spoke up, "Don't you remember the last time you played Wicked Scary?"

"What happened?" Draco asked curiously.

Robin started explaining everything about how Raven's fear brought the monsters of the movie to life and almost ate everyone.

"You were frightened, Raven?" Shadowcobra asked, with his eyebrow raised, skeptically.

Raven blushed and pulled up her hood. "Yes," she managed to whisper, embarrassed. Shadowcobra pulled her hood back down and placed his forehead on hers.

"There's nothing to be afraid of Raven. It's just a movie," Shadowcobra soothed her, smiling. Raven blushed again but relaxed into her boyfriend's chest, sighing.

"Don't you just love a little romance?" Draco teased. Shadowcobra glared at him. Draco gulped.

"Let us partake in the movie while consuming large quantities of junk food!" Starfire said.

"Keep it away," Cyborg moaned as he waved off the candy, still feeling sick from the fight.

Beast Boy inserted the DVD into the player and started the movie. It was scary. REALLY scary. The Titans stared wide-eyed at the screen with mouths opened. Even Ichjyo's usually narrow snake-like eyes were as big as saucers. Starfire covered herself with Robin's cape.

After a few hours, the movie was over.

The Titans' mouths were wide open like their eyes.

Beast Boy looked over from behind the couch, "Is it over?"

Starfire had her eyes close. "I do not dare to open my eyes to find out."

"Now I'm really sick to my stomach," groaned Cyborg.

"I've fought psychotic villains, robot comandos and giant oozing monsters, but that was the SCARIEST thing I have ever seen," said Robin.

"Never knew a movie could be scarier than Slade," Terra said from her place behind the couch with Beast Boy. (Wonder what they were doing there? Wink, Wink!)

Pluto was silent and only stared at the blank screen with his mouth wide open.

Raven was visibly shaken up but Shadowcobra wrapped his cloak around his dark beauty. He sighed. "It's okay to be frightened Raven. It was by far the most frightening film I have ever seen, I have to admit" The snake knight turned on the lights.

"You're just saying that," Raven said, hugging him.

"I've fought some pretty scary monsters before, but that was SCARIEST thing I have ever seen in my whole life," Draco managed to say. Jinx nodded in agreement.

Suddenly everyone laughed. Even though it was scary, they still enjoyed it. Even Raven was smiling.

Later, all the Titans went to bed. Of course, the girls were a little shaken up by the movie and were knocking on their boyfriends' doors, asking to be let in. Even Raven was knocking on Shadowcobra's door.

"You may enter, Raven," Shadowcobra said as the door slid open. Raven was about to ask how he knew it was her but decided against it as she entered. He was a telepath after all. Raven adjusted her eyes to the dark. The door slid shut and startled her. Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder. She was about to scream when a hand covered her mouth.

"Hush, Raven. It is only me," Shadowcobra assured her. Raven let out a sigh of relief. "Now tell me, what are you doing in the middle of the night knocking on my door?"

"The movie sorta scared me," Raven admitted. "I know it's silly but I can't go to sleep without having nightmares. Besides," she paused, "I feel safer being close to you." Luckily it was dark or else Raven would've seen the blush forming on Shadowcobra's face.

Shadowcobra coughed nervously. "You may sleep here tonight, Raven," he offered, "You may rest in my bed while I'll sleep on the floor."

"NO!" Raven exclaimed, but covered her mouth. Shadowcobra looked at her strangely. He then nodded in understanding.

"I see. You wish to sleep in the same bed… with me." Shadowcobra smiled. "Very well." He scooped her up in his arms and carried her to his bed. Raven's face was as red as a cherry, and not because she was mad. He deposited her on his coffin shaped bed and then climbed in with her and proceeded to take her cloak off.

Raven felt Shadowcobra's cold fingers over her skin and she shivered.

Ever since their first meeting, they found a kindred spirit in one another. They had so many of the same interests and could confide in one another. Raven actually found someone who thought she wasn't creepy, but instead, beautiful and enchanting. This was just like her experience with Malchior.

She frowned at the memory but shook it off. Malchior was only using her and he broke her heart. She was now afraid if Shadowcobra would break her heart too.

"Never," Shadowcobra said simply. At that, Raven glared.

"Don't you ever ask before you read people's minds?"

"My apologies Raven," he said, "It's just that your thoughts and emotions were emanating so strongly that I couldn't help but pick up some things." He continued, "So, may I ask who is this Malchior?" Raven shut her eyes and Shadowcobra noticed tears. He wiped off the tears and wrapped his arms around Raven. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have pried. You'll tell me when you're ready." He pulled the blanket over both of them. "But rest assured little black bird, on my honor as a Zodiac Knight, I shall not harm you nor break your heart." He whispered into her ear, "Because I truly and deeply love you." He then planted a kiss on her temple.

"I love you too, Shadow, the dark venom of my heart." She moved closer to him and snuggled up to him. Shadowcobra placed an arm over her as they drifted off to sleep.

Hours later, Raven woke up to find herself not in her room but in someone else's, or more specifically, Shadowcobra's. It was still dark out. She looked at the knight and smiled. She stroked her hand through his cerulean locks then his cold alabaster skin. He was beautiful, like something carved by the heavens, and only for her. She was a bit selfish and yeah she really did love the Knight. At least she had him all to herself and vice versa.

She did get scared of course, not for herself but for him. Every time a monster from the Mirror Dimension attacked, Shadowcobra had to follow it back to the Mirror Dimension and destroy it. She couldn't see the Mirror Dimension and that scared her. Raven always got worried about Shadowcobra. Would the next time he entered be his last? Would he never come out alive next time? Would she lose him, forever? Tears fell from her eyes as she sobbed. Shadowcobra woke up and was alarmed when he saw the tears. He placed his hand on her cheek.

"Raven, what's wrong?" he asked concerned. Raven only shook her head.

"Nothing is wrong, Shadow. I'm just happy."

"Happy? Why?"

"Because," she sighed, hugging him. "I have you." Shadowcobra blushed at her confession. He returned the hug.

They lay there in bed, completely content, a comfortable silence shared between them.

The moment was ruined of course by a scream. Both Raven and Shadowcobra sat up and looked at each other. They grabbed their cloaks and ran out to find the source of the scream.

In the living room, they saw that the other Titans were already there.

"Who screamed?" Shadowcobra demanded.

"You mean you don't know?" Draco mocked a gasp. Shadowcobra glared at him. Suddenly he and Raven realized that every eye in the room was staring at them.

"What?" Shadowcobra asked, annoyed.

"Dude, why are you wearing Raven's cloak?" asked Beast Boy.

"What are you talking about? This is my…" he looked at the dark blue cloak he was wearing. Wait a minute, since when was my cloak ever dark blue? He turned to Raven and noticed that she was wearing his jet-black cloak. Beast Boy and Cyborg grinned. "Don't even start you two!" he warned as he switched cloaks back with Raven.

"So…How was it?" Beast Boy asked.

"I don't know what you're talking about!" Shadowcobra's eyes narrowed and glowed.

"You know…IT!" Draco added. Shadowcobra glared at the Dragon Knight. Then, he smirked as he scanned all the boys' minds.

"I see that I'm not the only one who had a girl in bed with him," he said slyly. "How were the girls, anyway?"

Now it was Robin, Draco and Beast Boy's turn to blush. "STOP THAT!" they yelled in unison as Shadowcobra chuckled. Raven couldn't help laughing as well. The girls were also doing their fair amount of blushing.

"What is it, Robin?" Starfire asked, confused. Robin leaned near Starfire's ear and whispered. At that, also Starfire blushed. "Oh."

"Anyway, back to the question: Who screamed?" Shadowcobra asked again.

"Maybe someone left the movie on?" Robin suggested.

Draco picked the DVD off the table. "You mean this movie?"

"Woah, major Dejavu!" said Beast Boy.

Suddenly lightning struck and thunder crashed as the lights went out. Everyone screamed in shock. Beast Boy jumped into Shadowcobra's arms. Shadowcobra was about to drop him when he noticed something else was jumping in his direction.

WHAM!

"GET OFF ME!" Shadowcobra yelled as he struggled to get out from under Cyborg and Beast Boy. He rubbed out the ruffles and wrinkles in his cloak as he glared at the changeling and Cyborg. "You are both acting like children! It's only a power outage!"

"Shadow's right!" Pluto spoke up, "It must be a blown fuse or something. We'll check it out later and…Why are you guys looking at me like that?" He noticed that everyone had shocked looks on their faces and were staring straight at something behind him. "There's something behind me, isn't there?" Everyone nodded. Pluto turned and his blue eyes shot wide open as his brown hair stood on ends. He laughed nervously as he turned back around, sweating bullets.

Everyone screamed.

Standing before the Titans was a tall cloaked figure. Its dirty green cloak was tattered everyone and a single glowing red eye could be seen in the shadows of its hood. The figure ripped off its cloak to reveal itself as the monster from the movie.

They screamed again. The monster's tentacles shot forward and tried to grab the girls. Terra and Jinx tried to yank off the tentacles while Starfire shot Starbolts at it. Raven was frozen in fear. Shadowcobra shook her.

"Raven! Snap out of it!" he yelled. He then transformed into his armor. Draco and Pluto did the same.

"ZODIAC FORCE!"

"SNAKE!"

"DRAGON!"

"DOG!"

The Zodiac Knights leapt forward and started fighting the monster. Robin threw some electric discs, but they had no effect. Cyborg fired his sonic blaster at the thing but it didn't seem fazed. Beast Boy transformed into a T-Rex and roared, but the monster roared back and Beast Boy morphed into a puppy and ran away. Draco ripped off the tentacles holding Terra and Jinx and fired a fireball at the monster. Jinx helped out by firing blasts off her hex energy at it. Nothing fazed that thing.

The monster grabbed all of the Titans and the Titans were pretty much helpless. Pluto tried to use the Nasty Vent card, but he dropped his sword when the creature grabbed him.

"WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" Beast Boy exclaimed.

"SHUT UP BEAST BOY!" Everyone else yelled at him.

Raven closed her eyes and chanted, "Azerath, Metrion, ZINTHOS!" She covered the creature in black energy and it let them go. The creature retreated and escaped through the shadows. As the Titans fell, Beast Boy morphed into an octopus and grabbed each one of them in his tentacles to break their fall. They all ended up in a tangled heap on the floor.

"GET OFF ME!" Shadowcobra yelled.

"Whose claws are on my grebnaks?" Starfire exclaimed.

"Sorry, my bad!" Beast Boy apologized.

"Cy! Get your foot out of my face!" yelled Pluto

"And get your hand out of mine!" Cyborg shot back.

Let's just say that it was like a twisted game of twister. Anyway, they all got back to their feet and had questions playing in their minds.

"Raven!" Shadowcobra ran to his shaking girlfriend, "Are you okay?" Raven nodded. Shadowcobra took off his helmet and transformed out of his armor. He smiled softly at her and sighed, relieved. "Thank god."

"There was a monster here, right?" Cyborg asked.

"But where did it go?" Robin asked.

"And from where did it come?" Starfire asked.

The Titans eyes fell on Raven. Raven shook her head. "My powers worked remember. So it can't be me," she explained.

"And how do we know that?" Jinx asked suspiciously.

"Because the monster did not let off any of Raven's magical energy signature," Shadowcobra defended.

Suddenly, Beast Boy exclaimed, panicking, "You guys, can't you see? The movie's CURSED! Watching it opened a portal to another dimension! The monster got out and now it's gonna hunt us down and eat us! And I'm probably delicious!"

Shadowcobra muttered, "It'll probably get indigestion if it eats you, Beast Boy." Beast Boy glared at the snake knight.

Robin pondered, "There has to be a logical explanation to all this. It has to be Control Freak. He must've gotten into the Tower somehow to get his remote back."

"No it's not him," Shadowcobra said calmly. "I don't sense him anywhere but in jail."

"And with his stink, I could smell him from miles," Pluto added.

"Besides, the last time you gave us that theory, you were dead wrong," Cyborg finished.

Draco suggested, "The only way to find out is to split up and look for clues." At that, Beast Boy turned into an octopus again and grabbed everyone, pulling them close together. He then turned back to his human form.

"Split up? Are you crazy Draco? Didn't you see the movie? If we split up, it'll hunt us down one by one. And the good looking, comic relief guy always dies first!"

"Any other bright ideas?"

"We should stick together. Safety in numbers," Shadowcobra suggested, "But I'm staying as close to Raven as possible." He wrapped his cloak protectively around Raven and himself. Raven blushed.

Beast Boy complained, "Why don't I get a bodyguard?"

Shadowcobra smirked, "You're not pretty enough." He laughed. Beast Boy fumed as everyone joined in the laughter, even Terra.
