Part 45: Fear

Raven's POV:

After Jinx and Starfire were taken, Robin was in a state of shock while Draco was enraged. This irritated Shadow and caused him to snap at both of them.

It worked.

He may have been a little harsh at them, but it worked. So we continued to search for our missing teammates.

The monster was still there. It could still take any of us.

The anticipation was frightening and not knowing when it was going to strike was unnerving.

Also, Shadow told me that he lost someone once. Who was it? Did that person die or something?

Shadowcobra's POV:

Robin was leading the group and Cyborg and Draco were lighting the way. Raven was by my side and Pluto was behind us to guard the rear.

For a few moments, I've been getting strange feelings from Raven. It was like she didn't trust me. Maybe it was because I avoided a lot of her questions regarding my past. I did tell her a few things about myself like that I was a half vampire and half angel, and how I became a Zodiac Knight. But, she never knew why I became a Knight in the first place. Neither Pluto nor Draco knew about that and it was only because I avoided that question every chance I got.

I was a loner, recluse, anti social. I was a lot of things. Draco and Pluto were my only friends before I met the Titans.

Correction: I had a friend before I met the Titans, before I met Pluto and Draco. It was before I even became a Knight.

Normal POV:

Shadowcobra's head snapped up and so did Raven's

"It's here," they both said in unison.

As if on cue, the creature slithered out of the shadows to reveal its full height. It was still as grotesque as any one of them remembered and it held its captives within its body. Their faces were seen on the surface on its body. Jinx and Starfire were the latest addition.

Raven's POV:

I could feel the anger radiate from both Robin and Draco. I also felt a tinge of fear from them as well. They were afraid to attack because they fear they might hit and hurt our friends. The monster knew this and took advantage of it.

Shadowcobra's POV

Draco and Robin hesitated. We all did. Fighting it would mean hurting our friends and not fighting it would mean us being taken as well. The beast knew this.

It struck out at us with its tentacles. Robin and Draco dodged and Pluto slashed at the tendrils while Cyborg ripped through them as he reached for the captured Titans.

Raven and I were blasting at the creature with dark energy blasts that were non- fatal to our friends. They were non-fatal to the beast as well, but they were just as effective.

The combined attacks seem to weaken it, until it did something unexpected.

It opened its mouth and shot a beam of green energy at us. We dodged, and it fired again.

Robin shouted, "It's using Star's powers!"

It was obvious! Why it had taken them; it wanted their powers.

Robin reached into his utility belt and pulled out some freeze disks. The creature saw this and shot a wave of pink energy at Robin. The disks blew up and Robin's hands wee encased in ice. The creature slammed Robin into the wall with one of its tendrils.

Draco roared, enraged that the creature was violating Jinx's powers. He rushed forward, leapt up and slammed his fist into the creature's face. The creature's head contorted and morphed and changed into a T-Rex head. It opened its jaws wide and chomped down on Draco. Draco teleported away as soon as the jaw snapped.

Cyborg and Pluto aimed their weapons at the creature and fired, only to have the blasts intercepted by Starbolts. The Starbolts slammed against the two of them and knocked them out. Pluto's armor shattered and Cyborg's circuits completely went black. I guess he didn't recharge yet.

Robin removed the ice on his hands and reached for his Bo staff. He leapt high above the creature's head and brought the Bo-staff down on it. The creature opened its mouth wide and a slimy tongue grabbed Robin's legs. It pulled the Boy Wonder into its mouth and swallowed.

We (Draco, me and Raven) Looked in horror as the creature proceeded to gobble up Cyborg and Pluto. Their faces appeared on the surface of the creatures body soon after.

"RUN!" I said.

"But we can't just leave them!" Raven protested.

"We have to fight!" Draco replied. He ran towards the creature and raised his flaming fists. The creature grabbed Draco by the waist, arms and legs and pulled him into itself.

"DRACO!" I yelled. No! It can' t happen again! Not now! I wrapped my arms around Raven, even with her protesting, and teleported.
