Part 60: They Really Put Super and Supermodel 4
The time was nigh. The girls were gonna strut their on the catwalk and the boys were gonna watch. Hoots, howls and catcalls would be a possibility…a strong possibility, but let us hope none of that happens.
The male Titans took their seats, right up front, closest to the stage. The seats had been reserved by Leo's own mom so that they could see the girls work it.
Meanwhile…backstage, some of the girls were having doubts, especially one dark empath.
"I can't do this," Rachel whispered to herself. "There's no way I'm doing this," she held herself, visibly shaking from nervousness. How was she ever talked into this? The butterflies were literally beating against the inside of her stomach. She wished she could meditate, but there was no time and she couldn't calm herself to do so. She then felt a hand on her shoulders. It was Megami.
"Jitters, huh?" she asked.
"I can't believe I'm doing this," Rachel whispered, taking a peak from behind the curtain to see Ichijyo there, sitting with the other boys and talking. "And I don't want to."
"Why?" Megami asked, "It's great!"
Rachel rolled her eyes and stared at the girl, "Well I don't think so! I'm not gonna strut in front of a bunch of rich snobs like some kind of bimbo! I don't want anyone looking at me like THIS!"
"Why, you look so beautiful! And you know that," Megami said to her, "The dress really brings out the color of your eyes and hair."
"I guess," Rachel said with a shrug. "I just…I just don't want to look stupid. I mean, Leo's mom is counting on us. She did choose us. And…" she then began blushing.
"You don't want Ichijyo to think any less of you, am I right?" Megami prodded.
Rachel wanted to answer, but nodded instead. Megami then said softly, "Then imagine only him. Only have your eyes on him. You love him, right?"
Rachel smiled, and answered, "I do."
"Good," Megami smiled back at her.
At the same time, Jen and Eri both had crossed arms and were glaring at each other. Both of their teeth were grinding back at forth and they both looked absolutely vicious!
"So you came to get Leo back, huh?" Jen demanded.
Eri scoffed, "Of course! Sure Ryuki-sempai and I broke up, but it can still be fixed. We will be together!" she gave Jen a confident smirk.
This girl was rubbing Jen the wrong way…the really wrong way! Okay, she was Takada's little sister, but she was also Leo's ex-girlfriend. Somehow, she had the feeling that this girl would try to steal Leo from her. Jen could fight her, she knew that. However, Eri could hold her own as well. Who would eventually win Leo's heart was already decided and Jen knew it. The Promise Ring!
"You sure about that!" Jen raised her hand and showed her the Promise Ring. Eri gasped and Jen spoke cockily, "How about now."
Eri stared at the ring, "Ryuki-sempai? How…impossible?" Eri said with disbelief.
"Leo gave it to me…last night, at a dinner with his mom. She approved and accepted. She was happy for us!" Jen said in her face. "Did Leo ever do this for you?"
Eri thought back to the dances, the kisses and the dates they had as well as the gifts Leo gave her. However, none of them was a piece of jewelry. That meant…that meant Leo really loved her.
"Do you really love him…or his money?" Eri asked, trying to hit another button. Jen shook her head.
"As a matter of fact, the old me would've, but he…he changed me and for that I am grateful." Jen sighed, "I fell for him before I found out he was rich," Jen answered with a smile. "I love HIM not his cash."
"Me too…" Eri said, a little tearful. "Leo loves you, huh?"
"With all his heart. He even saved my life once and didn't care about my past," Jen told her.
"He's like that, you know? Sees the good in people all the time. That's why I loved…love him," Eri began to sob.
"Why did you break up, anyway?" Jen began to ask.
"I guess…I guess he didn't want to put me into any danger." Eri sniffled, "He was trying to keep me safe and I thought he thought I was weak and useless. I guess…I guess we grew apart."
"I see…" Jen said softly before wrapping her arms about the girl's shoulders. "Don't cry or your makeup will run…" Jen cooed softly, soothing the younger girl.
"Thanks, Jen," Eri wiped the tears away. "No wonder Leo likes you. You're really nice."
Jen giggled and rolled her eyes, "Believe me girl, if you met me before a long time ago, you'd bitch slap me until there was no tomorrow." Jen then placed her hands to her hips and said confidently, "Now let's give them a show!"
"You got it!" Eri said excitedly. "How's my hair?"
Now let's see how Sarah, Tara and Kori are doing.
"Tara, are you cold? You are shaking!" Kori asked with concern.
"Just a little stage fright," Tara said a little but not very convincingly.
"A little?" Sarah stared, "Girl, you look like you're about to bring the house down, and not in a good way!"
"I know…" Tara said, "But with all those people who are gonna watch us…What if I mess up or trip or something? Mrs. Hasuma is really counting on us and that makes me even more nervous, if that were possible."
"Listen…my dear friend. There is nothing to fear for our boyfriends are outside watching us. Think of Garfield as I think of Tim and as Sarah thinks of Victor. Remember that he will watch and that he will be proud," Kori said this and meant it with all her heart.
"Couldn't put it better myself girlfriend," Sarah agreed.
Tara closed her eyes and took deep breath. She envisioned Gar in his seat cheering and clapping. Her eyes slowly opened and she had a determined and confident look on his face. "Let's do this!" she raised her arms. Both Kori and Sarah slapped them in high fives.
"Let us strut our stuff, as you will say!" Kori said excitedly.
"Couldn't agree with you more," Sarh giggled.
"Let's rock this joint!" Terra pumped her fists.
Back with the boys…
"Excited?" Takada asked his male friends and they all nodded. Ichijyo took his seat and sighed. "Problems?"
Ichijyo stared at him and responded with an OK sign, "Everything is running as smoothly as it possibly can. The DJ's sober, the lighting crew isn't high on something and the cooks and chefs are cooking the food without having a food fight or gambling." He yawned, "All in all, things will run smoothly," he checked his watch before adding, "And on schedule, I might add."
Takada grinned, "Do you feel stoked about seeing Rae on the catwalk?"
Ichijyo admitted, "A little…I guess," of course he was a bit hesitant. "I'm actually a bit worried about her. She's a pretty shy person."
"Shy?" Takada huffed, "She runs around in a leotard all the time! How can she be shy?"
"You'd be surprised…" Ichijyo sighed, remembering the talk he and Rachel had the night previously.
"I just hope there aren't any surprises!" Leo said a bit nervously.
"Is there something I don't know?" Ichijyo asked with an eyebrow raised.
Leo turned to look at Tim, Vic and Gar talking animatedly amongst themselves and then spoke in Japanese, "Kat's here!"
"WHAT?" Ichijyo half gasped and half exclaimed. "Why wasn't I informed of this?"
"You were busy and we didn't want to disturb you with this info," Takada said.
"A little bit too late for that!" Ichijyo said almost panicking.
"Don't be so flustered," Leo told his perfectionist of a friend. "We have, sort of, a truce…" Leo tried to say convincingly.
"Wow…I feel better," Ichijyo said sarcastically.
"Dude! Lighten up! Just relax and enjoy the show!" Takada slapped his friend in the back.
"Don't TOUCH me!" Ichijyo hissed.
"Anything the matter dudes?" Gar asked. The three Knights quickly shook their heads.
"You sure? I mean, you look like you're sweating," Vic added.
"Is there something we should know?" Tim asked, almost like he was a demanding an answer.
However, his question remained unanswered as the music began to play and the MC started to speak:
"Welcome ladies and gentleman and citizens of Jump City! I thank you all for attending the fashion show brought to you by Narukawa Inc.! I hope you will enjoy yourselves as we show you the latest fashion to come from the genius mind of one Emiko Narukawa Hasuma! Now, let us start the show!" he clapped.
"Boy, he must be gay," Takada commented.
"Shh!" the other boys shushed him.
Backstage, the girls all looked at each other determinedly and Mrs. Hasuma gave them all an encouraging thumb's up. It was now time to give the show of their lives.
