Part 64: I Hate Thunderstorms

"I hate thunderstorms," said Draco, shivering under his blanket. There was another crash of thunder and a flash of lightning and he instinctively covered himself again, hiding under the covers, whimpering. "I really, really, hate thunderstorms." Draco had never liked thunderstorms, ever. Ever since he was a little kid, he would always hide under the bed or his covers to escape. Maybe it was the loud noises or his feral instincts. His hearing was sharp and the thunder freaked him out. He sighed, "If Jinx ever saw me like this…maybe she'd say I was a wimp." Another crash of thunder forced him to cover pull himself under his blanket. He whimpered and shivered pathetically. "Monsters I can handle, Shadow pissed off I can handle, even Pluto's inventions I can handle…" A flash of lightning and a crash of thunder almost made him jump. "This I can't handle. Kamisama, I hate thunderstorms…"

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door that scared, causing him to yelp Draco. He said slowly, in a shivering voice, "Yes…who…who… is it…?"

"It's me, Jinx," she answered, "Can I come in?"

What was Jinx doing in front of his room? Regardless, even against the instincts of saying, "no" he said, "Yeah, come in." he shivered

The door slid open and Jinx jumped a bit, screaming. She then realized it was only Draco. "Woah! I didn't know your eyes could glow in the dark!" she remarked.

"Yeah…heh heh…you live and learn, huh?" he shrugged.

"Baby…why are you hiding under the covers?" She asked slowly walking towards his bed.

"I'm not hiding," he lied. But he caught the look she gave him. She knew he was lying. "Okay, I'm afraid of thunderstorms, happy?" he admitted. He then saw Jinx crawl onto the bed and went under the covers with him. "Jinxy-chan?"

"Actually, I'm scared of thunderstorms too," she admitted, blushing. "That's why I'm here. Can I sleep here, tonight, with you?" Her eyes glowed pink in the darkness and Draco found himself lost in their beauty. There was a crash of thunder and the two quickly held each other, whimpering. "I hate thunder!"

"Join the club," he told her. He whimpered against her, but soon felt her hand rubbing his back and she cooed softly.

"It's okay. It's just the thunder. It can't hurt you," she flinched at the sudden flash of lightning and the following thunder crash. Draco rolled his eyes. She continued to hold him like a baby, cooing softly as she did. She was so warm. This reminded Draco of how his mother would come into his room during thunderstorms when he was a little kid. She comforted him the same way Jinx was now doing.

"Thanks…Jinxy-chan." Draco purred as he ran his hands over her back. They pulled back and looked at each other. Emerald green eyes stared into neon pink ones before both pairs closed as their owners drew closer to one another, their lips meeting in a passionate kiss. Draco broke the kiss and whispered, "You don't think I'm a wimp, do ya?"

"Why would you say that?" she questioned.

"You know…I'm supposed to be a Zodiac Knight, a hero. I'm supposed to be a big and strong man…and I'm scared of a thunderstorm," he told her, whimpering again from a crash of thunder.

"Maybe, if I never got to know you this well. So you're scared of thunderstorms. So what? That just proves you're only human," she answered. "Now calm down. I'm here, so there's nothing to be afraid of."

"Thanks Jinxy-chan," he smiled at her. She kissed him. However, their tender moment was ruined.

"PLUTO! GET OFF THE ROOF RIGHT NOW!" Robin's voice boomed. "BEAST BOY, CYBORG! THAT MEANS YOU TOO!"

"What the hell?" Draco said, bewildered.

"C'mon!" Jinx said, pulling on a bathrobe. "Let's go see what's going on."

Draco eyes widened, "Out there? With the thunder and lightning?" he cowered back under the covers. "No thanks!" he sucked on his thumb.

Jinx's eyes narrowed and she smiled at him seductively. She crawled over to him and whispered, "I'll make it worth your while," she licked his earlobe, causing him to shudder.

"Let's go," he said, throwing off the blanket.

The two arrived on the roof to see the other Titans there as well. Pluto was tied to a lightning rod and both Beast Boy and Pluto were dressed in raincoats and latex gloves.

"What in Kamisama's name are they doing!" Draco shouted.

"I don't know!" Robin shouted back.

"Probably something stupid," Raven mumbled.

"No, ya think?" Terra shot back.

"Friends! We must help friend Pluto before he is struck by the lightning." Starfire yelled, concerned for her friend.

Suddenly, as if on cue, lighting struck the lightning rod. The electrical current went right through the dog Knight, lighting him up like a Christmas tree.

"Too late!" Jinx yelled.

Everyone gasped.

The ropes burned off and Pluto was literally smoking all over with his hair standing on ends and looking like a bush. He crackled all over with electricity.

"I think he was trying to see how immortal he really was," Shadowcobra muttered, "Moronic mongrel."

"I-" Pluto twitched, "-Heard-" twitched again, "-That!" he twitched erratically.

"Woah!" Cyborg whistled.

"Cool!" Beast Boy grinned.

"Goes to show that it's surprising of what you guys can live through, huh?" Draco remarked.

Pluto was brought back into the living room and Robin glared at him. His glare was also present on the changeling and bionic teen

"No matter how invulnerable or immortal you think you are…DON'T DO SOMETHING THAT STUPID AGAIN!" he shouted at Pluto. "THAT GOES TO THE BOTH OF YOU TOO!" Robin shouted at Beast Boy and Cyborg

"Got it!" Pluto saluted. Suddenly, the lights in the kitchen came on. Everyone stared. "What the?" Pluto waved his hands around and some of the electrical appliances came to life as well. "Cool!"

"What the..." Raven blinked.

"It seems that Pluto has kept some of the electrical energy from the lightning bolt that struck him," Shadowcobra admired. "Impressive."

"So Pluto has a new power?" Jinx asked.

"It appears so," Shadowcobra nodded. "It could be temporary and wear off soon, for all we know. You'd be surprised of how often this happens to him."

"Looks like something did come out of that crazy stunt after all," Draco said. "What now?"

"Yes, what will we do with Pluto now?" Starfire asked.

"Use him as a spare battery?" Terra suggested.

Pluto blinked and the TV came on. "Let's just watch some TV," he suggested.

"Good idea," Beast Boy sat down on the couch. "We can use you as a remote, huh Plutes?"

"I'm too psyched to sleep," Cyborg sat down as well.

Robin rubbed his temples, grumbling, "I can't handle this tonight. I'm going back to bed." The Titans leader yawned and went back to his room. The rest soon followed and went to bed. Jinx, however, had other plans. She ran after Draco, giggling.

To Be Continued…

Chromedragozoid: Don't worry. I'll let Pluto keep his new electrical power. It may come in handy.
