Part 68: Teeny Titans
Draco slowly came to after shaking the cobwebs out of his head. "What the heck happened?" he moaned at the pain in his head. He then noticed the rest of the Titans lying unconscious. His immediate instinct was to go to the closest one, which just happened to be Jinx. He ran towards her and cradled her in his arms, "Jinx?" he called, "Are you okay?"
"Draco baby?" Jinx asked groggily as her eyes fluttered open.
"Yeah, Jinxy-chan, it's me," he kissed her.
"What happened?" Cyborg asked as he got up.
"Dunno dude," Beast Boy also got up.
The rest of the Titans slowly came to and then Raven noticed something off.
"Is it just me," Raven began, "Or does the room seem a bit…bigger to you?"
"Not just big Raven," Terra answered, "It's HUGE!"
"Oh my!" Starfire gasped, "I believe the room has gotten bigger."
Robin corrected her, "The room didn't get bigger," he paused, "We just got smaller!"
And it was true. The Teen Titans had all shrunk down to Teeny Titans.
"Great! Just great!" Shadowcobra exclaimed sarcastically, "We have all shrunk! You know who we should thank for this, right?"
All the Titans turned to glare at a cowering Pluto.
"At least we know it would work," Pluto gulped, trying to make an excuse.
10 minutes later…
"Ow…" Pluto moaned weakly as he picked himself up.
"As much as I enjoyed that, we need to find a solution to our little predicament," Shadowcobra suggested.
"I agree," Raven nodded.
"Question is, how?" Draco scratched his head
"Well, we could always use the Shrink Ray and turn it on to reverse," Beast Boy suggested.
"Uh…a reverse switch?" Pluto rubbed the back of his head nervously.
"There is a reverse switch, right?" Shadowcobra hissed.
Pluto played with his fingers and whimpered, "I sorta removed it and forgot to put it back." He began laughing nervously.
"YOU WHAT?"
"I'm dead aren't I?" Pluto gulped.
All the other Titans advanced on him.
"Guys, let's be reasonable," Pluto pleaded. "NOT IN THE FACE! NOT IN THE FACE!"
20 minutes later…
Draco extinguished the flame in his hands before wiping his hands together, "Well, that's one way of relieving stress."
"Do you not think we have over done it?" Starfire said, concerned at the way they had beaten on Pluto.
"He deserved it," Shadowcobra hissed.
Pluto was in a corner with his arms in several strange angles. They weren't broken, but the dog Knight had been severely traumatized.
"Don't you think you overdid it with the whole scary demonic thing, Raven?" Beast Boy asked the dark empath.
"Like Shadow said, he deserved it," Raven replied.
"Now, let's figure out a way to get back to normal," Robin said in a commanding voice.
"Or what ever passes for it," Jinx added.
"How? Only Pluto knows how to fix this. He designed the ray," Draco said.
"Not the only one," Cyborg said. "I helped him out," he pointed to himself.
"Then let's get cracking, team!" Robin ordered.
"Can I help?" Pluto volunteered.
"NO!"
"I was just asking…"
45 minutes later…
"There," Cyborg said in finality as he leapt off the shrink ray. "I reset the polarity transmuter to reverse. This should return us to our original sizes."
"Should?" Shadowcobra raised an eyebrow.
"That doesn't make me feel any better or faithful about that thing," Raven added in her two cents.
"We have to test it, but with what?" Draco rubbed his chin before a light bulb lit up in his head. He turned to Beast Boy's direction.
Beast Boy waved his hands, "Oh no! There's no way I'm gonna be the guinea pig this time!"
"Actually," Shadowcobra grinned, "I have a better idea."
All the Titans turned to stare at Pluto.
"What?" Pluto asked. He then got the picture and backed away, "Oh no…no way…YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE!" Pluto shouted as he high tailed it out of there.
"TITANS! GO!"
The Titans had split up into teams of three to look for their wayward friend.
"Damn, he runs fast!" Terra panted. She was in the hallway with Beast Boy and Cyborg.
"For someone who's immortal, he sure is afraid of death," Beast Boy joked.
Cyborg looked at his arm, "He's close. The tracking device I put on him says he's right around the corner.
Robin, Starfire and Raven were looking for Pluto in the garage.
"He's not in his Cadillac," Raven said as she floated out of the Blue Hound.
"He is not in his kit of tools either," Starfire said as she leapt out of the tool kit.
"He's gotta be around here, somewhere," Robin looked at the Communicator and saw the blue blip. "He's close!"
"The kitchen?" Jinx raised an eyebrow.
"This is the last place he would think we would look for him," Draco told her. "Do you see him, Shadow?" he shouted at the Snake Knight through cupped hands.
Shadowcobra opened the fridge and his eyes widened. He then closed it back.
"We have to make another grocery run," Shadowcobra told the two.
"Say what?" Jinx narrowed an eye and quirked an eyebrow.
"He put plutonium in the fridge again, didn't he?" Draco asked.
"Judging by the burger that tried to have me for lunch, I would say, yes," Shadowcobra hissed and muttered something.
"He used to do this a lot, huh?" Jinx asked.
"How do you think he got his code name?" Draco replied.
"He always had the ability to attain plutonium from God knows where," Shadowcobra rubbed his temple.
"So, it's pizza again?" Draco grinned, licking his lips.
"As long as it isn't anchovies," Shadowcobra frowned.
Pluto panted as he arrived in his hiding spot. He quietly slinked into a crack and let out a sigh of relief. They'll never find me here! He thought to himself.
Suddenly, he heard a strange sound. He turned on his flashlight and spun on his heels.
Only to be looking at Silkie's face.
Correction: Silkie's hungry face!
He was in Starfire's room.
"Oh crap," he whimpered.
"AROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!"
All the Teeny Titans were startled and quickly made their way to the direction of the scream.
"It came from my room!" Starfire gasped.
Shadowcobra flew up and punched in the override codes. The door slid open and Pluto ran out in a panicked frenzy. He was without his cape and mask and was covered in Silkie's drool.
He laid himself to the Titans mercy. "I'll do anything!" he cried. "Please! Please! Keep that monster away from me!" he kneeled and bowed at Robin's feet.
The monster in question slithered out and grinned. Slikie immediately recognized Starfire and licked her face. Starfire giggled with mirth as she danced around her Silkie's head.
"I'm starting to like that worm," Shadowcobra grinned.
Draco gulped, "It's looking at me. I don't like the way it's looking at me."
Pluto kissed Robin's feet, "I'll do it! Anything! I don't want to end up as bug food!" he pleaded.
Back in the lab…
"Okay, ready! Say cheese!" Cyborg said as he was at the controls of the ray.
"Okay!" Pluto grinned nervously. Cyborg shot the ray at him and Pluto was now at normal size.
"It's great to be big again!" Pluto stretched his arms.
"Next!" Cyborg shouted.
One after another, the Titans were restored to their normal sizes.
"What have we learned today?" Shadowcobra glowered at Pluto.
Pluto said flatly, "Don't kick shrink rays?" Shadowcobra handed him a trash bag and a few cleaning supplies. "What are these for?"
"Clean out the fridge and your plutonium," Shadowcobra commanded. "I have to go make a grocery run."
All the Titans laughed as Pluto grumbled while making his way to the kitchen.
