Part 70: The Flyer

Crime was at an all time low in Jump City. Even Slade was keeping quiet, arousing suspicion from Robin. Monster attacks were also becoming rare. Thankfully, the Titans were able to find something to do so that they didn't die of boredom. Beast Boy and Cyborg were playing video games, with Terra watching and cheering on her boyfriend. Raven and Shadowcobra were on the roof meditating. Robin was listening to his radio. Starfire and Jinx however, were watching Draco and Pluto playing a strange (in Starfire's mind) card game.

Pluto slapped a card down. "I sacrifice two monsters and summon Buster Blader, and I'll have it attack your Kiryu!" Pluto exclaimed.

Draco yawned. "I'll use Magic Cylinder to negate the attack and send the damage right back at you," he said as he flipped over a card. Pluto winced at the lost of life points. Draco flipped over another card. "I'll also use Ring of Destruction to destroy your monster and take your life points down to zero. I win."

"Argh!" Pluto threw his arms up in the air in frustration.

"That was great, Draco!" Jinx cheered

"That's the fifth time you beat me today!" Pluto exclaimed.

Draco shrugged. "I know."

"Friend Draco," Starfire spoke up. "What is this strange game with pictures of monsters depicted on the cards?"

Draco smiled at her. "It's Duel Monsters, Star. It's very popular where we come from. It also has a fandom in the US."

Starfire's eyes gleamed. "Will you teach me how to play this game, Draco?"

"Of course Star."

Jinx smiled to her boyfriend. She knew he was a great duelist. She was even beaten herself after she found out Draco played Duel Monsters.

"Mail call!" Robin called out as he carried the mail to the living room. All the Titans stopped what they were doing and went to receive their mail. Shadowcobra and Raven also came down. Robin sorted the mail out.

"A comic book for Beast Boy, Mechanic's Monthly for Cyborg, Starfire's fashion magazine, a book for Raven, another book for Shadowcobra, Terra's National Geographics magazine, our paycheck from the city, and some bills and flyers."

A few of the Titans frowned when they didn't get anything in the mail. Suddenly Draco's eyes widened as he grabbed a flyer. Looking over it he suddenly started laughing. All the Titans looked at him strangely.

"You guys! There's a new game shop opening in Jump City. It's called the "Black Clown"!" he exclaimed, "They've got every type of game there is. Card games, board games, video games." At the mention of video games, both Cyborg and Beast Boy perked up. "Toys." Starfire squealed. "And prank stuff galore!" Draco slammed his hands on the table. "We have got to go!"

"Dude!" Beast Boy said, pumping up his fists, "We gotta check this place out!" Terra and Cyborg both agreed, albeit for different reasons.

"It will be absolutely glorious to go to the shop of gaming!" She wrapped her arms around Robin and smiled sweetly at him. "Shall we go, Robin, please?" Robin blushed and nodded to his girlfriend.

"Sure Star." He could never say no to her.

Shadowcobra crossed his arms and frowned. "It is a waste of time." Raven was of course ignoring almost everyone in the room.

"C'mon Shadow," Draco said.

"No," Shadowcobra said firmly

"Please?"

"No."

"C'mon Shadow! It'll be fun!" Beast Boy chimed in.

"Yes friend Shadowcobra! You must come with us!" Starfire added.

"No."

Suddenly they all started staring at Shadowcobra strangely.

"What are you doing?"

More staring.

"Please stop."

More staring.

"Cut that out!"

More staring.

"You're making me nauseous!"

More staring.

"Okay fine! I'll go!" Shadowcobra yelled, defeated. Beast Boy, Draco and Starfire exclaimed happily at their triumph, throwing their arms up. "I hate it when people do puppy dog eyes, or cute kitten faces." Shadowcobra groaned.

If you want to know what happened, Beast Boy had turned himself into a cute kitten like the one in "Forces of Nature" and Starfire was giving him her patented puppy dog eyes. Draco was also using his own version of the puppy dog eyes.

Raven asked Shadowcobra, "Something the matter?"

Shadowcobra smiled at her, slightly. "My mother always did that to make either my father or me do something. It's my weakness." Raven nodded in understanding before holding his hand. "Raven?"

"I think I'll go so that you don't get bored and try to strangle anyone," she said.

"Thank you Raven. You honor me with your presence." Both of them blushed and suddenly two light bulbs exploded. Luckily no one got hurt.

The Titans all got to their vehicles and drove or rode to the store. As they arrived in front of the Black Clown, someone was watching them intently from a window in the building.

"Let the games begin," he said sinisterly as he closed the blinds.
