Part 81: Cemetery

The Titans left the village to start on their journey. The villagers had given them their blessings and wished them luck.

Boy they needed those blessings now.

The Titans were currently traveling through the cemetery, the dark and scary cemetery. Their supplies were being carried by Hardhead, Cerberus and Metalceros.

"Couldn't we have chosen a different route?' Beast Boy whimpered. He was never a fan of cemeteries since that zombie movie marathon. Terra was with him. She was also a little scared.

"This was the only way that could lead us to the Dark Lords' fortress," Robin said, leading the way. "But I really wish there had been another way."

Starfire and Draco were using their powers to light the way. Starfire lit up a Starbolt in her hand and Draco had formed a fireball, forming torches. They were both with Robin in the lead. Jinx stayed behind Draco, she was shivering. Starfire was shaking too, she was too not a fan of cemeteries ever since she watched Earth horror movies. She was afraid a vampire (she shouldn't be afraid of vampires since one of her friends, Ichijyo/Shadowcobra, is a vampangel, a half vampire, half angel, hybrid), a werewolf or even zombies to grab her. Her free hand found Robin's and she smiled. Robin was her best friend and her love. He was always there to comfort her.

Shadowcobra and Raven were somewhere in the back with Cyborg. Cyborg had his flashlight on, so that they had a third light source. Raven didn't mind cemeteries that much and Shadowcobra, well, he kinda liked the dark and foggy atmosphere of the cemetery. His cloak was wrapped around his body. Raven was floating next to him, her face was obscured by the shadows of her hood.

They had been walking for over an hour now and were exhausted. Unfortunately, setting up camp in a cemetery was not anyone's idea of fun, so they kept moving.

Of course, when there's a cemetery, there's bound to be…THE UNDEAD!

In a dark fortress far away from where the Titans were stood the Gamemasters and Mad Mod. They were watching the events of the game through a viewing screen.

"They went through our orcs," Toros said as he played with his horns. "They're stronger than we realized."

"It's only because they had help from their Zodiac Knight friends," said Dagger. "If it were me, they'd be on the other end of my daggers."

"Sure…sure," said a female knight in white and black body armor with white boots and gauntlets. Her head-covering helmet held a pair of curled horns and a grilled visor. She was Astra, the Sheep Knight.

"Maybe I should move up and surprise them," said a Knight wearing brown armor. The armor was worn over a black body suit with spiked gauntlets and boots. His helmet was designed like a rat's head, complete with buckteeth on the mouth plate and a pair of round rat ears. He was Vermin, the Rat Knight. "After all, my specialty is reanimation."

Mad Mod was watching through the screen. "Well, well, Knighties. The duckies are in for a surprise." Mad Mod chuckled.

At that the Gamemasters laughed.

The Titans were still trying to find their way through the fog. The fog was so thick, none of them could see two inches ahead of them. It was good thing to have lights though.

Back at the dark fortress, Vermin was jumping around impatiently.

"Come on! Come on! I want to bring my zombie legion to life!" he exclaimed repeatedly.

Toros waved his hand. "Very well, Vermin, just try not to mess this up."

Vermin stood in front screen and his body glowed blue. "Awaken…My Zombie Legion…" he summoned.

"Draco?" Robin started.

"Yeah Robin?" Draco asked.

"Don't tell me you're tired already."

"Huh?"

"I heard you yawning."

"That wasn't me."

"Then who?"

Soon there was moaning everywhere as the Titans tensed up.

"Awww…Man!" Beast Boy complained. "This is so like City of the Undead 4!"

Grotesque undead creatures came in view. They were limping and dragging their legs. Starfire screamed as she looked at the faces of the zombies. They had rotting, fleshy, green skin and smelt horrible. Most of them were missing eyes and organs were exposed. They were moaning with arms forward, intending to grab onto anything living…and kill it.

"Holy Shit!" Cyborg said, charging his sonic cannon.

"You could say that again, Cyborg," Pluto took out his deck. Cerberus barked at the zombies. "Get ready old friend."

"Metalceros, get ready to charge through and run," Shadowcobra said as he drew out his deck. Metalceros huffed and stomped its feet. It was ready for a fight.

"You too Hardhead. Better pit that hard head to good use," Draco said, drawing out his Zodiac Deck as well.

"Titans," Robin started. "Ready…Get set…"

Back at the fortress, Vermin yelled, "ATTACK!"

The Zombies charged forward.

"GO!" Robin ordered as he drew out his Bo staff.

"ZODIAC FORCE!"

"DRAGON!" Draco's transformation sequence: Draco snapped the deck to his belt and the crystal in the buckle glowed red. The crimson energy field swept over him and he was soon engulfed in flames. The fire that surrounded his torso, forearms and lower legs materialized into red and silver armor, gauntlets and boots. The fire that licked his head formed into his helmet. The faceplate and eyepieces slid close.

"SNAKE!" Shadowcobra's transformation sequence: Shadowcobra snapped the deck to his belt and the crystal in the buckle glowed purple. The violet energy field swept over him. Dark purple energy covered his torso, forearms and lower legs to form his armor, gauntlets and boots. Dark purple energy surrounding his head formed the helmet. The faceplate slid close, hiding his face.

"DOG!" Pluto's transformation sequence: Pluto snapped his deck to his belt and the crystal in the buckle glowed blue. The blue energy field swept over him. Wind surrounded his torso, forearms and lower legs to form his armor, gauntlets and boots. Darkwing attached himself to Pluto's back, transforming into his cape. His helmet appeared on his head and the visor slid down to cover the top half oh his face. The faceplate slid over the lower half.

(I wrote down the transformation sequence to describe how the Knights transform. Pretty cool, huh?)

The Titans rushed forward and fought against the horde of Zombies. It was pretty simple formula to kill them: cut off the head, dismember them, or burn them.

Easier said then done.

Cyborg kept blasting at them with his sonic cannon. A few fell, but more kept rising.

"DRILL HORN ATTACK!" Shadowcobra plowed through a horde of zombies by using the spike of his weapon (Rhino Horn Striker) as a drill. He had successfully immobilized a number of zombies and was continuing to do so on another horde of the undead fiends. Metalceros assited him as well by charging through the horde and letting its horn spin like a drill, impaling a few zombies and throwing them away.

"DRAGON FIRE BALL!" Draco was having good luck against the zombies since his attacks were mostly fire based. Throwing fireballs at them were perfectly as they immediately stopped moving and fell to the ground. The stench of burning of rotting flesh soon filled the air. Hardhead used its hard head to ram through the zombies.

Both Jinx and Terra were using their powers to create trouble for the zombies. Terra used her earth moving powers to create craters and crevices in the ground while Jinx used her bad luck powers to cause the zombies to trip and fall in the large holes. It didn't do much, bit it still slowed them down. Cerberus used its powerful jaws and claws to rip some zombie's to shreds.

"GALE FORCE!" Pluto's cape transformed into bat wings that flapped violently, creating a powerful gust of wind that blew the zombies of their feet. He then drew his sword and ran forward, slashing the flying zombies to pieces. When he was done, he did a victory sign with his hand. "Booya!" he exclaimed, using Cyborg's signature catchphrase.

Beast Boy had morphed into a T-rex and was stomping zombies to the ground. Not much strategy to that technique, but what else would you expect.

Starfire was in the air and out of reach from the zombies. She blasted them with eyebeams and starbolts, totally annihilating them.

"Azerath Metrion Zinthos!" Raven chanted as she hurled tombstones and trees at the zombies, slamming them to the ground.

Robin was using his sword (you know, when he combines two birdarangs to form a sword. I may call it the R-Sword) to slash at the zombies. He went into a tornado slash that decapitated all the zombies surrounding him.

"Let's finish this!" Draco drew his Final Vent card and inserted it into his card reader. Pluto and Shadowcobra did the same.

"FINAL VENT!"

"HAMMERHEAD CRUSH!" Draco jumped and then stood horizontally on Hardhead's head. Red energy surrounded him as he slammed through the zombies, head first, like a battering ram.

"RHINOCEROS SMASHER!" Shadowcobra jumped horizontally onto Metalceros' shoulders and rushed forward at the zombie army.

"FROZEN HUNTER!" Cerberus's body ignited with blue flames before it charged forward. Pluto jumped over it and did back flip before he landed on its back, while holding his lance and pointing it forwards. Cerberus blew a blast of blue flames from all three of its heads and when the flames made contact with the zombies they froze, allowing Pluto to smash them to pieces.

The combined Final Vents completely eradicated the remaining zombies.

Back at the fortress, Vermin fumed as he slammed his fists on the console.

"How dare they!" he screeched.

Toros laughed, "It seems that your zombie legion failed."

"Vermin glared at him. "So? Your orc army didn't do any better either."

"What was that!" Toros asked angrily.

"You heard me!" Vermin spat.

"You mangy rat!"

"Beef steak!"

"This no time to be fighting like this!" Astra yelled. "We better think of another plan to deal with them. They've already went through the cemetery and are on their way to the Snake Forest."

"My domain," Dagger smirked. "I won't fail like you two," he pointed to Toros and Dagger. The gaze of the arguing Gamemasters turned to Dagger. Dagger levitated to the air and disappeared from sight.

To be continued…
